At Five Or Free Window Cleaning not only do we ensure that you’re satisfied with our cleaning, but also that the job is done in a way that gives you peace of mind.

Whenever indoors, we remove our work shoes or wear booties to avoid soiling your clean floor.

Before we bring any equipment inside your house we clean them to make sure they don’t stain anything in your house.

We make it a habit to move any furniture a safe distance from the work area to avoid damaging or soiling it. If we can’t move the furniture, we cover it up to keep it safe.

We use levelers and stabilizers on our ladders to ensure the safety of your property while we’re doing any ladder work.

The name Alexis comes from ancient Greek meaning «helper of mankind».

Although I’ll be the first to say I’m no saint, I do try to live up to my name in every aspect of my life. This includes business.

I don’t believe that because «this is business» my concern for the well being of others should take a back seat. More than anything, business is about working to serve the needs of someone else to the best of your ability with sincerity, integrity, and truth. And that is what I work to do always with each of my customers.

My husband easily set up the initial consultation for a gutter cleaning. We didn’t have to be home for the actual appointment. Alexis’ team took before and after pictures of our second floor gutters and did a great job keeping us updated. When we had a concern about a presumed leaky down spout after it rained — Alexis personally came out to check! He even went to a hardware store to buy a mesh for the downspout. He did this all for free as a follow up courtesy. Everyone was helpful & professional! We will definitely use them again for our gutters and possibly for a window cleaning.

I decided to call Five or Free due to the stellar Unilocal reviews but sadly did not get to experience what everyone else did. First off, the estimate time took way longer than any other estimate I have gotten. As a homeowner who has undergone extensive remodels I have a lot of experience in this area and it should be the priority of any business to make this process a quick and painless one. However, the estimate took well over an hour of my time.
Their sales rep felt like a car salesman as he looked at other components of the house and said they have another business that does electric and gutters.
In the end I was quoted a price that was more than double was Mr. Sparkle (the company I ended up gladly choosing) charged. Despite his push to book me, I told him I was getting other estimates. He ended up calling me back and offering me a small discount which still made the total the highest of three quotes I got.
I can’t speak for their work but I was disappointed at how expensive they were as it sounds like they do great window cleaning. Maybe their prices will be more competitive and I may be able to speak for their work in the future.

These guys are great. It was wonderful to work with them from the estimate to the actual cleaning. Great communication… but when it came to the cleaning, I couldn’t believe how systematic and careful they were with each window. They worked quietly and thoroughly and were very careful to clean up after themselves, not at the end of the day, but after each window.
I wouldn’t go with any other company… A+++

This is the third time I have used ‘FIVE OR FREE’. It has been excellent each time.
However, after this third time, I thought I saw some ‘streaking’ on one set of windows.
Alexis, the owner, came out the next day. We both looked. The windows are fine.
He has now also started an Electrical Contracting company.

It was good to work out all the different issues that came out. I believe that both Emmanuel and Giovanni were both quite a bit under the weather and not feeling at all well. I was very concerned about them and so glad they started to feel better as the day progressed. I certainly will not hesitate to use your company again or recommend your company to any of my friends. You are a very gracious individual and a scholar and a gentleman and have that elusive trait known as «class». I sincerely believe that you and your staff really care about the quality of service you give.

I had Five or Free come out after reading the great Unilocal reviews. Micah did a nice job giving us an estimate and we scheduled a time for them to come out the following week. We were originally told it would only take a couple of hours, but it actually took the two workers five hours to do all our windows (we have a 2,700 single story house). They did a great job, so the extra time wasn’t a big deal. Last comment, it took me 10 days to realize that the workers left most of the windows unlocked. This was a concern, especially since we have two children. I let the owner know and he responded to my concern immediately. The entire job was $ 400 and the company and its workers were responsive, prompt and friendly. I would probably use them again.

Super-​clean windows and excellent service. I called 3 window-​washing companies (all 3 highly rated on Unilocal), and Five or Free was the first to respond. Another company responded soon after, but was so booked that they recommended we call someone else. By the time the third company called, Alexis had already come by and given us a reasonable estimate, which we accepted on the spot.
Alexis kept every single one of his promises and is absolutely courteous, trustworthy, responsible, and professional. Our 100-​year-​old house has a billion windows, and he and his crew left every one sparkling.

As I always do before hiring a service company, I scoured Unilocal to look for a great window cleaner for my home. I found Five or Free, read the reviews, and was immediately sold. I was expecting a great company, but in the end I got something different. I got an Awesome company! From the moment the owner, Alexis, came to my door to provide a quote I knew this was the company for me. Alexis is one of the nicest guys you will meet. He has one of those demeanors that just radiates nice. Alexis could be selling just about anything and I would buy it (and its generally hard to sell to me). He is that good and unlike many businesses truly cares about the customer experience.
He provided a very reasonable quote after he inspected my home and before he left, I said «lets do it». We scheduled a time and date for him and his crew to come out to my home and as I expected they were right on time when that day came. His crew of four guys were just like him in that they were kind, courteous, and hard working. I totally get why though because Alexis’ kind nature is infectious. When they were done cleaning all my windows, my home looked like something out of a magazine. Beautiful! These guys are meticulous and fast. They took all precautions to keep my home clean including taking off their shoes (without me asking).
I just can’t imagine any other company being better at window cleaning than these guys. I am a customer for life. Thanks Alexis!

The owner was able to come to my home (the afternoon of the day I called) to give a quote. I live in Montclair.
When he showed up he was very professional and prepared the quote within 15 minutes.
I accepted the quote via e-​mail and the job was scheduled within 4 days.
The price was more than reasonable.
I have triple pane Pella windows with interior blinds. I opened them up for the crew (as they are a pain in the ass to open) and they did a great job cleaning the inside and outside of the windows. Each window has four surfaces to clean.

Great service. Great work. Plain and simple.
Scenario: A big storm hit a few months back and noticed a downpour at just one location of my gutters. Didn’t know exactly what it was, just knew it wasn’t good.
Called a separate gutter cleaning company to come out for a quote. That guy said my gutters were clogged and some seams needed to be resealed. Anyways, he quoted me a couple of bills for the job, which I thought was a little high but pretty fair.
Then I found Alexis. Emailed him through is easy to navigate website and he called me back within the hour. Said he’ll come out to check on my gutters for a quote in a day. Not only did he do so, but he sent me a quote that very evening! His quote was SIGNIFICANTLY under the other guys quote, so I was sold right away. Next thing you know, he was scheduled to come out and clean the gutters.
I wasn’t available when he came out to do the work, but my wife was home and busy with the baby, but he rang the doorbell to let her know that he’ll be working on the gutters. Did the job in about 1.5 hrs and boom he was out of there. Of course I’m not going to climb on the roof to inspect his work but you know what… I didn’t need to!!! He emailed me the invoice of the work he did and sent me a personalized link that shows the before and after photos of my gutters. SWEEEEEEEET! In the words of my wife «Man that looks shiny!»
Needless to say I was impressed. And to think, I’ve never even met the guy haha.
I’ll definitely keep his contact handy for future jobs.

We’ve used Five or Free 3 times now to clean our windows and screens and it’s been a great experience every time! I really like that the owner, Alexis and his co-​worker, who has been with him for years, are ones who do the job. You have to feel comfortable letting someone in your home and they are fantastic! I will only use them to do our window cleaning from here on out. Reasonable pricing is a plus too.

Alexis did a fantastic job on all of my windows a few months ago and I was extremely happy with his work. He was very polite and arrived on time. My windows were spot free!
Recently I had Alexis clean my gutters. I wanted it done before all the rain started. Wow! What a difference. He emailed me before and after pictures and I couldln’t believe how much debris was in my gutters. They are debri-​free now and Alexis did an awesome job!!! I can’t remember how I came to see Alexis’ ad but I got it. I called for a quote as well as called other companies. Alexis was the most competitive as well as flexible with schedule.
