Frasers Gourmet Hideaway

Good food, good staff and nice place. A little pricey but it is worth it. The owner is great and we like the idea of having this type of restaurant in Whidbey.

Wonderful food, service and ambiance. We had several apps, the chowder is to die for. Also loved the ribs, calamari and fondue. The outstanding entrées included lamb chops, filet mignon and the day’s special, sausage stuffed veal! A five star experience!

Great experience. Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. I had the red snapper which was full of flavor. There aren’t too many really nice restaurants in the area and this one is definitely worth the price.

$$ The menu has variety but not so much you get lost. Its fine dining, its lovely. The seats could be better but you’ll forget once there is food in front of you. You can dress up or dress casual (its on an island they are pretty relaxed here).

Great place for special occasions. The food is pricey, so we don’t go there often, but you definitely get what you pay for. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a good anniversary dinner or romantic night.

The service was wonderful and it was nice they remembered us from the night before. The shrimp and grits appetizer was the reason we ate there two night in a row.

A delicious experience! I had sablefish on top of risotto. Amazing! Dessert was beautiful and artistically presented. Staff was very attentive and the chef even came out to ask how our meal was. Wish I could afford to eat here more often!

You will not find a better restaurant than Frasers. It’s considered expensive (expect to pay around $ 50 – 60 a person) but the food is exquisite, the atmosphere is warm and lovely and the staff is amazing. To find a restaurant like this in a little town like Oak Harbor is a treat. I would definitely keep this place in mind for special occasions or to just treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing place to eat. My husband ate the short ribs and they were sooo tender, you could cut in half with a fork. I ate the filet. It was cooked perfectly. The waitress Maria was very sweet and we enjoyed our candle lite dinner on my birthday. Nice selection of wines and full bar. Desert was amazing as well. If you come here you have to get the fondue. We had that for an appetizer. Amazing! Can’t wait to plan our next visit. Nicest restaurant in town!

I go her almost 3x a month! Kinda pricey but if you taste the food you will understand why. I love the steak here. I loved the pork chops too, but they no longer have it on their menu:(Such a nice fancy place, very pretty.

Decided to give Fraser’s a try for my birthday dinner on Friday ¹⁰⁄₃₀. Great atmosphere, cute location, amazing dinner and desert. They were also more than willing to cater to my husband’s random shrimp allergy. Looking forward to returning and trying more on the menu.

Heavenly. The filet mignon was irrevocably magnificent. I usually pay almost 70 dollars for a filet, so I had my doubts considering the filet mignon here at Fraser’s was substantially cheaper. But the it was still absolutely fantastic. Paired with a fine glass of Cabernet, it made the experience all the more surreal.
I asked for a dessert menu, and I was presented with a tray displaying all the delicacies the had to offer.
I’m surprised a restaurant of this caliber exists in Oak Harbor.
Definitely the type of setting to which you should bring a date.
My only regret is that I won’t be around long enough the indulge further, as I leave to California next week.
The setup is splendid. Very comfortable. It was very personal in there, I saw the owners working and enjoying wine in the same room; I also was able to see the kitchen at work in the same room as well.
The waiter was, well she was just beautiful. Ever see Despicable Me 2? The spy lady… She looks like her, and when I saw her I felt like the little minion… Anyway, she was kind and informative.
I wish I knew about this place when I got here 2 years ago.

I generally enjoyed the food but there were quite a few fruit flies in my glass of wine, which I pointed out to the server yet they still billed me for the original glass and the glass I got in exchange. The place was also quite empty when we arrived yet the hostess had to check on whether they could accommodate us (even though we had reservations).

Wow, what a great meal. An interesting menu with something for almost anyone. We will definitely be back. Lamb, duck and salmon were all wonderful.

Last night, my husband and I dined at Fraser’s for my birthday celebration. We have lived here for almost 9 months, we have always wanted to go and see what it’s like. It’s definitely a restaurant that is for special occasions, or at least for us, because of the prices. However, I will say the price is worth it! We started off with a Caesar salad, I had the Surf and Turf and my husband had the Kobe Ribeye, and finally we split a chocolate torte for dessert. Everything was delicious, definitely will return for the food! The hostess was very sweet, the staff was all very nice and knew the value of «silent service» when pre-​bussing tables.
I also love the fact that you can sit at the bar and watch the kitchen. I can’t wait to take my family here when they visit!

So far so good I thought when I walked in and asked «am I underdressed?» To which the hostess smiled and replied «Ma’am we have no dress code». I sat at the bar, ordered a warm goat cheese salad with arugula and was very pleased with what I was presented! It was brought quickly and I even got to watch it be prepared which was great! They made the perfect raspberry cosmopolitan which I happily sipped as I waited for the main course: Kobe Ribeye with stone crab Yukon potatoes and asparagus. Oh wow… I’ll be back if given the chance!

Wow is this place expensive.
You know those extremely good restaurants that you see and think to yourself «That’d be a great place for a special occasion dinner». You know, like when you get a big promotion at work or your brother gets engaged or something. Frasers is totally that kind of restaurant.
High brow and high priced, the food and wait staff are of a quality to match. We ate here a day or two after Christmas and were extremely satisfied with it all and were quite surprised to find an establishment of this caliber in a town like Oak Harbor.

Just came here for Vday, and I have to say, I hope in the future Frasers will be more conscious of creating an allergy-​friendly menu. We are allergic to dairy, and it was nice that they found replacements for our main meal and gave us vegetables in lieu of the buttery bread.
However, I saw all the other tables were getting elaborate complimentary fondue plates and no one even approached us to let us know they unfortunately didn’t have any dairy-​free substitutes. They just brushed it under the table hoping we wouldn’t notice. I thought that was kind of rude, since we were paying the same expensive price as everyone else there. I would have at least liked to be acknowledged.
My date’s lamb was delicious and perfectly cooked. I got the surf and turf which was also perfectly cooked but way way way too salty. My Pinot noir was also pretty mediocre.
I think this is a solidly okay place for what they’re doing. Three stars.

Probably the most fancy of what is offered on Whidbey Island. two hours away from Seattle proper. the price reflects it. The place is basically on the first floor of a house near the water. It’s pleasant. with a warm country feel.
Service was great. in fact they were willing to separate our bills in the most complicated way due to the fact we were all there on business.
We ordered a few things.
The calamari was really delicious and I would highly recommend it.
The crab cakes were just okay. I have had amazing crab cakes so it’s hard to impress me with that.
The main course I got was the kobe steak topped with crab. In fact, a few of us got this. and although it didn’t taste like kobe. and it was cooked where it was already sliced when it arrive to the table. it was good. The crab was meh. could or could not have been there to be honest.
The wine we got was good but weirdly enough. it did not say where it was from. My biggest pet peeve was that you really couldn’t see the water that well from anywhere in the dining room.
It’s good. but there are a ton of other places to eat in the area for a lot cheaper.
