Turn the Tables specializes in upscale furniture consignments and custom painted furniture. Our goal is to bring new life to old pieces through finding them a new home or recreating them via decorative painting and architectural embellishments. We offer a unique, boutique atmosphere for your shopping pleasure. Our talented staff takes great pride in how items are merchandised, mixing the variety of wonderful consignment pieces that come through our door on a daily basis.

History

Established in 2002.

Melly Schwartz, who owns the shop with her husband Mitch, has been painting and recreating furniture for fifteen years. After her clients repeatedly asked her to search for particular pieces of furniture, she and Mitch decided the time was ripe to open a retail location that combined her custom painted pieces with a well curated selection of fine consignment furniture.

Melly originally opened Turn The Tables over ten years ago at Sale Barn Square in Wheeling. After several years there, she moved her business closer to home in Northbrook, and had a working studio there for a number of years. Most recently, Melly and Mitch decided to expand the business to incorporate consignment furniture sales. They opened in their new location in July of 2011.
