Got my eyebrows waxed over the weekend by Nicole. She was very nice and professional, did a fantastic job. Wax was easy and painless, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I will definitely return here when I’m back in the area. Highly recommend!

This place is wonderful. I come here for a pedi whenever I’m in Noho. It’s a bit splurgy (I get the express pedi for $ 37) but it’s worth it. My feet look great for way longer than other places I’ve gone.
They’re located on the upper floor of a Main St building, so if you get the window seat you can peoplewatch from above. It’s very calm and quiet there too. Nice atmosphere.
And the best part is, you can book appointments online! Even through Unilocal.A nice little touch for those of us who manage our personal lives online :-)

Had a horrible experience getting my makeup done by a «makeup artist»
Told her i wanted full coverage because my skin had broken out so she continued apply making… two shades darker than my skin tone because in her world thats how you cover blemishes. However, any real makeup artist knows that is far from true. It was evident she did not know what she was doing. My skin not only showed my imperfections, but it also was caked on and orange. I asked for champagne colored makeup and I ended up with too red of lipstick and orange eyeshadow… definitely not what champagne color is supposed to be. I made an appointment for false lashes too and she kept trying to talk me into just applying tons of mascara. I realized that was probably because she had no idea how to apply them considering once she finally did she applied them way too high above my lash line. What made everything so bad is that she kept telling me that i looked like the most beautiful girl ever and while compliments are nice i think she realized how bad of a job she did. Walking to my car, already knowing I would be redoing my makeup entirely, I received so many glances from strangers and i don’t think it was because i «looked like the most beautiful girl ever». Will never come back here for something again.

Best Brazilian in the area, hands down. Stefiny is fantastic and so much fun. Do it!

I went in today for the signature duo which was an hour long facial and 55 minute signature massage! My facial with Stephani was amazing! She was so attentive, the atmosphere was relaxing and my face feels amazing! I was looking forward to being even more relaxed with a massage following my facial, however that was not so. My massage therapist asked where my «areas of concern» were which I stated my back and neck. I told her I didn’t like very strong pressure and she assured me she’d check in during the massage. That barely happened, and i am more sore tonight than I was going to the appt today. I understand she was working my problem areas but digging your thumbs into one spot for 5 min is not relaxing; and me squirming and grunting clearly didn’t give off any cues! I was also told that these muscles needed to be worked on bc my Ab muscles were weak… not the best choice of words. The massage definitely was NOT relaxing and I’m pretty sure i have bruises from where her thumbs got me. Highly recommend Stephani and the signature facial, but not a fan of Lenore’s technique on the signature massage.

Paid for a 75 minute facial, got less than 40 minutes of service.
The actual facial was decent, but this is terrible customer service. Here is the email I sent the owner through their website immediately after my visit. I got no response. At the very least, s/​he should respond to disagree, to apologize, or to offer to make it up to me. I got nothing, so I’m sharing the email here.

I had a very nice facial with Jessica yesterday afternoon. I get facials 3 – 4 times a year, but this was my first time at B&B since I just moved to the area a few months ago.
Aside from the quality of the service, which was very good, I need to bring up a serious concern about the overall experience. I’ll start by admitting I was late– I’m not familiar with Northampton yet, and circled the block a few times before I found the parking garage. I did call just before 1:30 to let them know I was circling just yards away, but had yet to park. It was 1:40 by the time I made it up the stairs. I realize that is not an ideal way to begin an appointment, and I take full responsibility for that. It was 1:45 before I was lying on the table. I expected my treatment could be cut short by 15 minutes due to my lateness, but since I was booked from 1:30 — 2:45 and the spa closes at 3 on Sundays, I was optimistic that I’d have a decent facial since they couldn’t be expecting another client after me.
I’d booked the hydro-​lifting facial, which was noted online and in my confirmation email as $ 93 and 1 hour 15 min. To my surprise, Jessica wrapped up before 2:30, after less than 40 minutes. I was dressed and checked out at the desk (after using the restroom and buying toner) by 2:39! At first I thought the time was wrong, then thought she might have just switched me to a more basic facial that was only 45 minutes long. I’ve certainly never booked and paid for a 75 minute spa treatment that was 40 minutes long. Even if she cut out the 15 minutes that were my fault for lateness, she should have gone until 2:45– the time for which my appointment was reserved. She explained that I didn’t need many extractions, and that’s why the time was cut short, but then you find something else to do– hand massage, temple massage, another mask… something. I can’t imagine paying the full amount for half a service again, which is too bad, as it seemed like a nice place and I’m looking for my new regular spa in the area.

I have been going to B&B for facials since they opened. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Rebecca and her staff go above and beyond to make every customer’s experience special. Their product lines are some of the best out there and the prices aren’t inflated. Not a fan of the blue walls, but I guess I can let that slide and give them a 5 star rating. On a serious note, if you need a facial go here! Their services are not rushed and they really take their time with you during the initial consult. I wish they had a location in San Francisco

$ 25 base price for an underarm wax?!? Yikes. I live in NYC full time and am just visiting Noho for the summer. This is more than I’ve ever paid in the city. And the wax didn’t last as long as I’m used to. I can usually get a solid two weeks from an underarm wax. I had to wait about 15 min for my appt to start, but the aesthetician was perfectly lovely. I just can’t imagine going back at that price point and not great quality.

Their customer service is amazing! Amanda is helpful and courteous! I love it! My friend raved about their service and they do not disappoint!

I had my wedding make up done at Brooks & Butterfield. The most important thing was that my make up looked great! I was really happy with how it turned out! Scheduling the trial and actual appointments was easy and they were totally fine to work with. I used some of the other salons in the area for my bridal party hair and nails, and found those to be more comfortable and slightly less stuffy. Although I’m really happy I had my make up done there, I’m glad I didn’t do any of my other services through them.

Conveniently located downtown, Brooks and Butterfield has been my go-​to waxing spot for the past three summers. You enter off of Main Street and walk up to the first door on your right.
The past two summers I have just gone here for lip waxing ($ 13), which has always been quick and painless. Not to mention, I love their (hard) wax.
This summer I decided to check out the brazilian wax service here ($ 68) and met Stephiny. She’s awesome! Best brazilian waxing experience thus far. She does a thorough job and is pretty quick… still painful but heck, is that a big surprise when you are ripping hair off of your you-​know-​what?!

I was looking forward to a decent pedi in Noho so I booked it here. The price was good, the staff friendly. But, I didn’t double check my feet when I left. My callus buster with paraffin left a great deal of raw, ragged skin on the sides of my heels. Shawna neglected to paint the top edge of my toenals, so three days later, it’s already chipping. Too bad as the paint job was otherwise about a 7. I now have to go buy the polish to touch up my brand new pedicure and slough off my own heels!!!
Careless.

the people who work here are on the whole professional and talented, but the receptionist is snippy, unpleasant and extraordinarily off-​putting to the point where I hesitated cashing in my gift certificate. People — get it together. You are a little day spa over a bank in a crumbling new england village. this is not soho or eaton square and i can guarantee you there would be less attitude and pomposity in both those places.

I had a chocolate body treatment with Ursa which was very nice! It was my first body wrap experience and she explained it well and made it an enjoyable experience. The chocolate ‘mud’ is terrific, very purifying and smells great. you get a hot shower to rinse it off, fresh robe and then you get to lay back and enjoy a massage with chocolate body butter. ahhhh. she even gave me some of the body butter to take home and a piece of dark chocolate. it was heavenly.
The reception area was empty when i went, but i can see where it could be crowded and uncomfy as reviewers have noted. would be better if the nail salon part was more secluded.

I’m a convert. Here’s why:
1) During my recent wedding weekend, the folks at Brooks & Butterfield were able to take five of us at the drop of a hat for spa manicures & pedicures. They did a fabulous job — they created a relaxing, efficient and friendly environment, and allowed us to bring in champagne to make it a celebration. They even supplied the fancy glasses! While I know that the mani/​pedi area is not secluded and quiet (as other reviewers have noted), any other treatment you receive at this spa is in a lovely private room. Isn’t the experience of getting your nails done kind of social anyway?
2) I’ve been in a few times over the years to have my eyebrows done, but I’ve recently been SOLD on returning upon discovering Marie. She does slow, thoughtful work, often describing what she’s doing, and I came out looking great. The price is right and they aren’t consistently booked up for days, making them the perfect solution for a last minute emergency. So excited that I’ve found a new, reliable place in downtown Noho!

I had a body treatment here a couple years ago consisting of a salt polish, a mud wrap, and then a 30 minute massage. The massage was amazing. Overall it was a deeply relaxing experience; I left feeling euphoric, and my skin has never been so soft.
But, I see what the other reviewer was saying about the manicure/​pedicure area being right near the counter. I went in recently to buy a gift certificate. Not only was there loud chattering coming from that area, but it meant the whole reception area and the hallway to the treatment rooms smelled like chemicals — the nail polish, the remover, or whatever else they were using.
I tend to notice smells more than other people, but these were very strong. I’d find it unpleasant to try to relax in that atmosphere if I had been there for a treatment. Since the gift certificate is bought, I suppose I’ll just have to hope the recipient doesn’t notice, or goes on a day where people aren’t getting manicures and pedicures.
On the plus side, Brooks and Butterfield is wheelchair (walker, crutches, etc.) accessible. You can take an elevator up by entering through the bank entrance to the right of the Brooks and Butterfield door on Main St. The elevator is through a door, down the end of a hallway, and around a corner. You can also reach the elevator through a door to the right of the Cornucopia entrance to the back of Thornes, although there is a step if you come that way. The elevator delivers you to the back of the spa.
Because the bank entrance is locked after 5pm, you’ll have to tell them you’re taking the elevator if you’re arriving after that; presumably they’ll meet you at the door.
Oh, one other tip: if you go to the B&B website, they have a page for an «open appointment program». On Mondays and Tuesdays, they list openings they have for Tuesday and Wednesday appointments. The provided codes get you a 15% discount on any one service booked at the last minute.

I wanted to like you, Brooks and Butterfield, but you just didn’t do it for me. I expected more out of «day spa». I was so hopeful based on the previous Unilocaler’s review, but was sadly disappointed upon arrival. After climbing the stairs to the day spa, you walk in into a loud, tight lobby. There are several seats off to the right where ladies are chatting away while they get their pedicures. While manicures and pedicures are absolutely appropriate services for a day spa to offer, it is a bit jarring for that to be your welcoming committee. I was offered tea as their website promises but the sitting area not allow one to settle back and enjoy a cup of tea before your session. I was rushed into my massage room, which was cold and brightly lit. I had arranged for a «hot stone» massage, which unfortunately ended up being a regular massage with hot stones used more for show than purpose. I am a regular hot stone massage goer and I really love how my body feels when they are used to massage out my knots and kinks and when they are placed on my pressure points. This is not what this massage involved. While my massage specialist was very nice, she lacked that awareness that I find essential for massage therapists. She was very noisy during the massage, knocking things over and trying to chat me up. I also did not find her massage to be relaxing or successful to release my body’s tension. In addition, I had a number of bruises on me the next day, even though I indicated «medium» pressure for my massage.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I would recommend that folks look elsewhere for a massage. And if you find that perfect place in the Northampton area for pampering after a long, stressful week, please share your experience with us on Unilocal

I’ve gotten my lady two spa packages at this place… both times she has come away on a cloud that didn’t dissipate for at least a week…
They offer manicures/​pedicures, seaweed wraps, hot stone treatments, etc… all the high end spa stuff you can conjure up… their waiting area is a quiet, blue space overlooking Main Street…
The only problems I’ve encountered were a lackluster massage one of the aforementioned times and a snafu with a gift certificate I had purchased…
A great place to go/​send someone if you/​they enjoy spa treatments…
