We specialize in the design, installation and maintenance of edible gardens, drought tolerant landscapes, CA native landscapes and rain gardens.

Landscape Installation: Whether you need a full landscape overhaul or just want to update a portion or your yard we can help you out. From installing pavers to planting we make sure everything is done right so it will be there for decades to come. From the design to the installation, longevity and sustainability of your landscape and the life of your plants are our main priority.



Maintenance Service: We offer maintenance service at a minimum of $ 80 a visit. We specialize in maintenance for native and draught tolerant landscapes. Visits are usually scheduled monthly. I am not your average «mow and blow» gardener. I have training in many aspects of horticulture as well as tree and shrub care. I spend a lot of time during each visit to make sure everything is pruned, fertilized and watered correctly

History

Established in 2009.

I started Sundial Gardening specifically to install vegetable gardens for people and open them up to the world of fresh produce. Now the business has grown to include the design, installation and maintenance of drought tolerant landscapes.

Business Owner

I first started Sundial Gardening to help people realize their dream of growing fresh vegetables at home. Soon I found myself diving into all aspects of horticulture and landscape design. My passion is low maintenance draught tolerant landscapes. I believe the normal «green lawn with green blob bush» landscaping that is seen all over LA is boring and needs to change. In helping people change or adapt their landscapes, I hope to to do my part and help others to change Los Angeles into a more sustainable county.

The Sundial Gardening team is awesome, easy to work with, and super professional. They recently completed the project of removing grass from our front and back yards and installing a new drip irrigation system and a CA friendly landscape. The owner, Dylan, thoughtfully chose all the plants for us, drew us a plan (which included the placement of all the plants, plus a pathway and a new small flagstone patio), and he and his team worked for about a month (including two weeks while we were out of town) to complete the project. The beautiful new garden is a HUGE improvement on the grass we had before. Dylan and his team were always friendly, knowledgeable, answered all our questions and kept us up to date on what they were doing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to update and/​or improve their yard!

The owner, Dylan, came out and evaluated my entire yard, front and back. He gave thoughtful recommendations. He provided me with a couple of contacts for arborealists to help me with tree problems and anything out of scope of his services. We had him build a vegetable garden in our front yard which turned out great. His attention to detail and followup is excellent.
He’s also working with us on a monthly basis for our yard and to keep our vegetable garden thriving. I definitely recommend his services.

One of the highlights of my year!
Dylan is incredible and passionate and a joy to work with. He knows so much about plants and gardens in general. I have wanted a veggie/​herb garden my WHOLE LIFE and he recently planted one for me — -and it’s PERFECT! I am very picky about businesses and people and I cannot say enough good things about Dylan. I can’t wait to have him back to plant more and just give his «magical touch» to my garden!
