Great sandwiches. Special combination or grilled pork is very good one. Just only Vietnamese sandwiches are the best here

5 stars strictly for the croissants. Soooo tasty! I’ve gone back a few times recently and miss the owner I used to see several years ago, he’s a younger guy. I see older folks behind the counter now instead, not that I care but they aren’t as friendly as the young guy who I used to go and chat with. They still have other Vietnamese snacks, all very affordable. There’s no other Asian bakeries OTP that has these croissants, besides the only one OTP, the only other one that has similar croissants is Lee’s Bakery.

Since their latest review was in 2012 i Went here in hopes that the reviewers wouldn’t fail me. They were indeed correct. They have the best croissants n for 1.50. Yes I’ll take five! They’re also the size of my head… I have a large head. I think they supply the bread for the surrounding banh mi delis. I went in the wee hours of the morning and saw bails and huge bags of bread being taken away… so I bought a few to try too. Why not!

Finally, the search has ended. After all the fruitless searches. The bitter disappointments. The rejection. I finally found a place in Atlanta that still makes Pâte Chaud after Le Bakery stopped making it over a year ago: No. 1 Hong Kong Bakery inside the Hong Kong Supermarket. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I had my second bahn mi sandwich ever from here so I could compare it to the one I got from Lee’s in Assi Plaza. This spot seemed less sanitary than Lee’s. I saw wrapped up food sitting out that looked like it should’ve been refrigerated and a box of open french bread in front of the pastry display. The bun for my sandwich did come from a covered container. The server popped the sandwich into a toaster oven but it was still not warm. Some of the meat was tough/fatty. The veggies didn’t seem as crisp or fresh as Lee’s. I overlooked the fly buzzing around to be fair since I never visited the place before. If the establishment seemed more sanitary and the sandwich was better, I would return for the almond croissant. As is, I will stick with GA Bakery on Satellite Blvd.

I bought chicken Vietnamese sandwiches and something was off. I think there was too much pickled carrots and radishes. The sandwich was too tangy and had too much of the buttery sauce. The price is good: $ 2.50 for one, and buy five get one free. They also sell all the usual Vietnamese deli stuff that I have no clue about because there was no English on their menu nor on their packaged goods. Thankfully, the people who work behind the counter spoke some English. One disturbing thing I noticed while I was waiting for my sandwiches being made– there was a lady who went behind the counter in the working area dressed nicely with her phone ear-piece on while eating a chicken wing. She was really cleaning that chicken wing! Afterward, she wiped her fingers with a paper towel. Mind you, not was hands but just a wipe with a paper towel. The whole time I was thinking that she better not be the one who make or handle my sandwiches. It was so gross! She ended up ringing me up and handled my money. I was relieved(but still kind of grossed out). I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again. There are better places for Vietnamese sandwiches.

Ordered their sandwiches(banh mi) and the«grilled» meat was reheated in a PLASTIC(cancer) bin in a microwave. The meat was thickly sliced, the flavorings were a bit too salty and was not properly spiced. Their bread was pretty good though, crunchy and soft, not chewy in comparison to other places. Also, had the«com rieu»(rice wine dessert), and it was salty, I mean salty and only a few intact rice balls, the rest were broken up! It is suppose to be sweet. And on top of that, the service was quite rude, acted like they were doing me a favor by providing me foods.

Next to the Hong Kong Supermarket on Jimmy Carter Blvd. is a decent bakery and sandwich shop. The bahn mi is excellent and the croissants are the butteriest(is that a word) that I have had in Atlanta. The service is somewhat limited if all you speak is English but one can point. The bread has a great crust and crumb. Prices are low. A large filled croissant is $ 1.00. There is more to sample here but that is all I’ve had time for in my 2 visits

(Located inside Hongkong Supermarket on Jimmy Carter Blvd) The best chocolate croissants OTP. These ones can rival Star Provisions. They are so buttery, so flaky, and so chocolatey. And they are huge(twice the size of SP’s) and only go for a dollar each. A true food find if I ever saw one. I buy them by the dozen every week. Aside from their amazing croissants(different flavors are available daily), they have baguettes(double the size of the ones at Lee’s) and Vietnamese sandwiches(bahn mi) which are also fantastic(filled with lots of meat and veggies). They also serve pretty tasty rice porridge(chao ga) with different toppings. I had a big bowl with pork innards then topped with fried pieces of baguette — it was delicious! This is a good place to find great baked goods(Vietnamese baking is derived from the French). And a place for delicious, cheap eats.
