Brian and Jeff at Automax= very honest, direct and has great value. For (Land Rover) Range Rover he offers the best service and pricing. I received three quotes to compare to the dealer and he offers the best opportunity with a warranty! Dealer can’t compete! Dealer was easily $ 400 more for just **front brakes with no brake warranty!
Brian is quick to respond, best service & pricing, guarantees his work and will treat you like gold.

Unfortunate event that I got into a collision and miraculously made it to AutoMax with a busted radiator. I Unilocaled the best available repair shop. Unfortunately when I had gotten there at the old location only to find out they had moved. I made the risky decision to drive 20 minutes slowly to get to the new location. Got there with barely 2 minutes to spare before they were closing. I had help with instructions on how to leave the car overnight. They gave me an estimation as soon as they could. With a decisive yes, they immediately ordered repair parts. After the Thanksgiving holidays, they did the extra job of weaving through the damaged hood and front bumper to replace the damaged radiator. They even slapped on a discount for me. I couldn’t fetch my car for a while due to me being located in San Diego and having a full time work. They were very patient and understanding about it. The guys here are very professional and willing to go the extra mile to help me. I would have to say that I got lucky finding them.

In the olde days: Once that service light came on in either of our MB’s it stressed us out. Book an appointment with the original manufacturer — which takes an age to get in. Wait in line until they come and receive the car. Always an up sell to something. Tiring and not fun.
Now: Wow! Last week we found Automax. Jeff is amazing. Professional, friendly and not working off commission. After a quick call by phone we were set. Dropping the car was quick and without fuss. Quick turn around. Great workmanship. And the price… seriously a fraction of the MB dealer. Car came back clean and I could not be happier.
I only have one frustration — how come I didn’t know about Automax before now?

The guys at Automax Service Center are the best! Auto service does not get any better than this! Jeff was more than accommodating and cordial when I I told him about the problem I was having and he didn’t waste any time in getting Rick, the Shop Foreman, involved. In finding a solution Rick spent more time and effort than I would have ever expected. It seemed like he took a personal interest in repairing my car and also went out of his way to do the job right. Everything Rick did was perfect and it showed. You really need to try the Automax Service Center in Newport Beach if need auto service that can’t be beaten for any price!

Just got my car serviced for the first time at Automax. Great group of people running the shop and I got a great price on my service compared to the dealer cost. They are very honest and done an excellent job on my car. I would definitely go back for future services with them.

Was worried when Mark’s Auto became AutoMax, but Brian and the crew have proved to be outstanding. Recently, after a terrible experience with So Coast Subaru, Brian replaced driver’s side window on my daughter’s 2012 Forester that had been broken into on Christmas day. Brian and the group are extremely professional, efficient, and honest. They deliver exactly what they promise on time and at a very fair price. They did a great job in getting our older 2002 Toyota Camry (100K plus miles) in tip top shape for our other daughter. Switching all of our repair work to them, plus, the discounts from time to time!

Great family environment. Dropped of my ’07 minivan with a tranny issue and got the call from the ‘canic in no time. Straight up automobiling. They are honest and fair about pricing, waaaayyyy cheaper than the dealers appraisal. Two thumbs up! Or by the Unilocal preferred nomenclature, 5 stars!

This place is scam central. They attempted to charge my 80 year old grandmother $ 3400 dollars to fix her car. Took it to the dealer only to find out there was nothing wrong with the car. You have to work really hard to charge more than a dealership. Stay away from this place.

I would give less than 1 star if possible. My mother and I have been taking our cars to AutoMax (formerly Mark’s) for the past 20 years, and while the prices began to steeply increase over the past 5 years, we continued to go there because we trusted Mark and his associates. After Mark sold the business and it became AutoMax, it took a turn for the worse.
We brought our car in about 6 months ago for routine work (transmission flush, oil change, and two new tires) and the DAY AFTER we picked up the car, the service engine soon light came on (for the first time in years). The car had been running smoothly before we brought it in. When we brought the car back, they ran the codes and determined it was the crank shaft sensor. So after paying another $ 700 for that, we got the car back, and the next day the service engine soon light came on AGAIN. When we took it back, the mechanic was very abrasive and told us there was nothing he could do because the code said it was the crank shaft. My mother told him she was worried she’d be stuck on the side of the road if they couldn’t figure out the problem, and he told her that was probably what was going to have to happen (seriously?).
After that, we started going to a new mechanic (who told us we had been overcharged by a factor of 2 to 3), and have since then been trying to figure out just what is wrong with the car. We have since determined that what must have happened is that a coil near a sensor must have gotten shifted, and that is what has cost us two thousand of dollars in repairs since then. There is no way to prove that AutoMax caused our problems, but it is extremely suspicious that the car was running smoothly until the day we picked it up from the mechanic. In addition, the prices are ridiculous.
So, horrible service, exorbitant prices, AND they’ve (seemingly) caused issues with our car. Mark’s used to be a great place, but stay away from AutoMax.

I haven’t used this company in years but I had such a bad experience there that I will never forget them. I worked with the owner, Mark regarding a problem my car had. He said it would cost $ 600.00 to fix it and I agreed and picked it up the next day. As I was driving it to work the same exact issue with the car happened again. I took it back to Mark’s thinking that he would fix the issue for free since he already charged me $ 600.00 and it was supposed to be good as new but guess what? He charged me an additional $ 300 to fix what was already supposed to be done.
It has been YEARS and I am still mad about this. I really think I was scammed and I would never recommend this company. Maybe they have changed their ways… hopefully!

I don’t normally post reviews but I know it’s hard to come by an honest place to fix you car. I love Mark’s automotive. They listen to your concerns and tell you exactly what is wrong and fix it. They will also tell you honestly what can wait and what can’t wait if you don’t have the money to fix something right away. Also most importantly! Your car doesn’t not have anything else wrong with it after it has been in their shop. I recently took my car somewhere else for minor things (oil change, air conditioning service) and after getting my car back; I had problems with my transmission and my air compressor. This is an honest and trust worthy place. Definitely try Mark’s automotive. I love Mark’s automotive! xoxoxoxo
