Specializing in residential replacement windows and doors, and serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area, R&M Quality Windows and Doors is dedicated to providing elevated quality of workmanship and unparalleled customer service at the best price.

R&M does not use sub-​contractors; all installers are R&M employees, trained and bonded in door and window installation.

I am a contractor and have dealt with many people over the years.
I found them on Unilocal and want to return the favor.
I installed the windows myself, still they drove to Oakland! to measure and explained the install to me. I have bought windows only once in 29 years at Home Depot. They reminded me as to why. Your windows will not be brought to you rubbing unprotected against a metal cart by a person who is at best indifferent.
They are great. Thank you guys.

We had our doors replaced in 2011. In Jan 2016 we noticed some issues with one door not closing correctly. I called R & M and they immediately came out. The fixes were easy and related to weather/​climate changes not craftmanship or initial installation, etc. Ron was pleasant, efficient, and overall did a great job. I’m still super impressed with this company and would highly recommend them for any of your door or window needs.

R&M replaced 6 of our windows in our townhouse last week. They replaced our windows in 1 day. The customer service was great and the price was slightly cheaper than the quote we received from Home Depot. The bonus was this is a family owned Newark business. We love supporting small businesses when we can. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to replace windows their home.

We has r&m out last week to replace 5 windows and a small bathroom window. They did a great job from start to finish. They were very friendly from the initial meeting all the way through installation. The windows were done quickly and cleanly. I am already thinking of replacing my patio door and wouldn’t use anyone else.

Replaced the 6 windows in master room and master bedroom with them. They are very friendly and quickly responsive. The price is slightly better than home depot and lowes but talking to the real business owner, instead of customer representatives/​sales makes things more reliable to me.
They contractors replaced the windows in one day in time properly. The bad side is they were late about 40mins and cracked my wood floor. However, Micheal and Ron took care of that very quickly. Even though the floor can’t be fixed as before, I believe this is not a common case, I am ok with their service and pretty satisfied with the windows.
So recommend and probably would still hire them for next window/​door project.

I am fortunate to have worked with R&M because they handled my window replacements with professionalism and care. I was impressed with their communication and efficiency. While I could not meet them to deal with the window issue at my condo, they were great about accessing the property on their own and giving me an update on their suggestions. Each step of the way, they followed through with clear details. Their office staff, Jaclyn, did a fantastic job assuring me that the job would be completed with experts. She would email me with reminders and her punctuality allowed me a sense of peace in knowing I was in good hands. Michael, the owner, is patient and I was pleased that he would take a personal call from me regarding the windows even though he was so busy. Hands down, I will be back with R&M for future window issues and best of all, they also guarantee their work and with the warranty, I feel good knowing that should an issue arise, they will follow through to make it right.

Unfortunately I can’t say much about R&M — I contacted them after doing a Unilocal search, looking to replace a 60 year old 16′ sliding glass door. After a brief chat on the phone, I got a quote — and we had discussed, and I was expecting, a call back to nail down the details (after they looked into screen door options/​etc). Never got the call back. I ended up using another company — follow up and communication are a big thing when I consider a contractor — and these guys just fell short. Side note: Price quoted was almost 20% higher than what I got my door for (apples to apples).

If I could give a ten star rating I would!!! I called regarding my sliding glass door being off track and handle broken. I was so concerned about my safety, but Mike put me completely at ease!!! I live in LA, was befuddled about window choices, noted R&M handled all three windows I was considering and so called for advice. Mike answered and I told him I lived in LA so wasn’t in their service area but asked if he’d help me with some advice. Mike listened and then gave me the useful info I have received, and I talked with at least 6 dealer/​installers in my area. Boy, do I wish I lived in the area so I could hire R&M!
You can tell when a business cares about the consumer and they do. They knew, because of where I live, that I wasn’t a customer or a potential customer and still took the time to help me. What a great attitude for a business!

I should have left this review about a year ago! In a sense you can get a better review from me now that I’ve seen the quality of their product in action through all the seasons! What a difference it makes to get dual pane windows!
Their quality of work was incredible and the customer service you can not beat! They even called to check in soon after the install was complete and helped me with all my questions!
They are currently working on my neighbors house and checked in again even a year later to see how things are going.
I would recommend them to everyone!

These guys are amazing! They really treat you like family. They help you design and install your new windows and doors as if they were remodeling their own homes. I’ve used them for multiple projects including windows and doors for my house, garage, and barn. I will never use or recommend anyone else again! I have to agree with all of the other posters here. Great company and great guys!
With the major rains we had in December, our large bedroom window started to leak. We were very concerned about dry rot, and so called R&M as they were referred by the Simonton website. We were prepared to spend $ 300 for them to take out the window, and were worried about thousands more due to dry rot.
They spent a few minutes looking at the window, and determined that the problem was with the weep holes and an accumulation of debris. they showed us how to fix it ourselves. They COULD have charged us for work they didn’t need to do, and we wouldn’t have known the difference. They assured us that dry rot was not something we needed to worry about.
You can’t ask for better customer service than that.

I’m writing this review because R & M Windows is one of those companies with super customer service, very friendly staff and great owners. I was referred to them by a family friend who owns a window business in Southern California. They replaced 8 windows in our house back in 2010, and after an accident broke one of the windows, they did a great job when I needed to purchase a new one. Highly recommend them!

R & M had replaced our windows about 10 years ago after we received glowing reviews from 2 friends. We found their team to be professional, clean and efficient.
Based on our past experience we requested an estimate for window replacement in our current home. Imagine our delight when we were advised several times that we did not need to replace our double pane windows. We were so sure that replacement was needed that we were shocked by the response we were given. Several times we were advised that we did not need to replace them & eventually we were advised that they would be glad to take $ 15,000 if we really wanted new windows.
Now that’s customer service!

I have 24 windows at my house. Many are custom and hard to reach. I am a contractor and builder so I ended up getting 8 quotes. I picked R&M because Mike seemed like he knew his work, fair, honest, and provided different solutions to my challenges.
For the quality of the windows they had the best price and they did an amazing job. The house was clean everyday, and they did the job in 3 days like they told me it would take. Ron was always looking over the work and his guys were all very nice.
There were no hidden cost like some of the others, and I knew what I was getting into.
There was a problem with one of the sliding doors ($ 2,000) and they told me they would replace it for me. It was just a small chip that does not impact the performance of the window/​door. I said no worries, and they gave me a discount anyway.
When I remodel, I will use them again and I recommend everyone to use them.

I know this post is a little late… we had R and M install windows and doors in our fixer-​upper home about 4 years ago. Their prices were reasonable and they had a professional crew. It was a week long project (25 windows and 6 doors or so) and everything went well. 4 years later, everything is just fine. We used Plygem, a cheaper alternative to Hunter, and am happy with the quality and cost savings. This is not some type of «fly by night» business, they have a showroom and will always back their work. No language barriers, no crazy sales pitches, no wasting of time… just a solid window company to do business with.

After a couple of bids to change our 8 windows and 1 sliding door and put window sills, I decided to go with R&M. The prices are pretty much in line with other companies but what sets them apart is their customer service. Mike came to measure and give me an estimate. Ron came the second time to re-​measure when I decided to go with them. When they came to install the guys came in with their R&m shirts, all were nice and respectful.
The next day, we were having trouble locking the sliding door, I emailed mike and within 2 hours, 2 guys came to fix it.
I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

Ron and the team of installers were excellent. They promised quality windows, professional installation, and courteous service. They kept and exceeded all of the promises for an excellent price. We had 16 windows and 2 sliders replaced. They look and work exceptionally well. We collected proposals from several companies from the Bay Area and the Tracy area, and R & M stood out from their competitors.
