As a coach/teacher, Ellie specializes in technique and coaching that takes beginner/novice singers and gets them to the point in the singing lessons where they can achieve; Ellie’s studio stands out for the number of students who started as beginners and went on to become award-winners and –nominees locally up through through the international level.
When Ellie started her teaching studio, she specialized in solving «tone deafness» and this remains a studio specialty in addition to «positive reinforcement» teaching techniques (Google Jean Donaldson, B.F. Skinner) which are more effective at training extra-ordinary abilities than traditional methods and are one of the reasons for this studio’s success. She accepts ALL levels & goals.

Eleonor E.
Business Owner
Eleonor has been teaching since she was a classical performer at age 16 at the request of students, but she has been teaching seriously since 2001 when she started her career as a jazz singer, training under such luminaries as Michele Weir (author of «Vocal Improvisation») and Shep Meyers (Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Anita O’Day). She has studied Alexander Technique under Robert Britton (head of department — SF Conservatory of Music) and Eileen Troberman (Alexander Instructor for Cirque de Soliel in Vegas). She has been lauded as one of the best voices in jazz and has also studied jazz pedagogy specifically as well as vocal pedagogy, anatomy, and learning theory using operant conditioning and «positive reinforcement» which is very effective with singers.
Ellie enjoys rock, folk, indie, and many other genres in addition to jazz, though, and her student base is varied, including singer/songwriter, rock/blues, straight jazz and blues, pop, musical theatre, classical and more.
