The Bailey Pub & Brasserie

Went to the Bailey for dinner the other evening and had zero complaints. The staff was very friendly and the environment felt very relaxed and casual. I had the fish pie for dinner, amazing choice! Would recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Really had a great time at this place! Went for brunch with a few friends. The atmosphere is nice, classy and casual all at the same time! The food was great. I had the eggs benedict which were delicious! The portion size was great! The beers were pretty good too. My only complaint would be that a lot of the beers on the specialty menu were not available. For everything that you get, I would say this is fairly priced! I would recommend this for Sunday brunch that is relaxed and classy!

Wow, what a difference from the last time I was here! Bland, dry, over cooked burger. Not the succulent delight I had last time :(they also added a sugar rim to my French 75. A little tacky and didn’t enhance the flavor

Place is hopping at the bar; filled w business people; more men than women having drinks and snacks. They do have seating for dinner and it is comfortable but abut loud from bar noise. It is right near Wall Street (of course) simple menu but lots of beer and wine to select; I had Shepherd’s pie. Your can have a comfortable meal if you are lady by self.

I stayed at the hotel and had the chance to go to the bar a few times. Atmosphere is a good mix of guests, tourists and locals and the bar is nice, updated and big.
The staff is great-​very attentive and nice.
The reason for the lower review is the food. Although priced well, really doesn’t hit. I had the fusilli, with squash, chorizo and ricotta and it was terrible. I would have sent it back but I was starving from a long day. The pasta was so over-​cooked it was like mush and the sauce lacked flavor.
I also had the lobster BLT sliders. The lobster tasted watery (frozen) and again, lacked flavor. Even a little salt and pepper would have helped.
Overall, good bar and location. Just stick to maybe the burgers or typical bar food if you’re gonna eat there.

It’s an easy location to get to and the unpretentious yet classy environment would put anyone at ease. I am not crazy about the reception guy and some of the staff seem rushed or unable to multitask. I can’t remember much about the food so I guess it’s ok. They are a bit pushy with the liquor sales but I guess it’s kind of a pub after all. Sometimes I feel that they just want me out fast even when it’s not crowded.

Sat at the bar for a couple of beers and a burger while I had some free time on a Tuesday. Bartender was nice, but often absent from the bar (I understand she probably had a lot to do to prep). Beer selection was nice — they had Founders and some good English ales, all for $ 8.
I ordered a med-​rare burger that still had totally uncooked meat inside. I probably should have ordered it medium — still, shouldn’t have been completely raw in the middle. I also subbed a salad for fries, which was just greens. No tomatoes/​onions/​anything else. Kind of lame.
In total, though, the place had a good atmosphere for a Tuesday afternoon (relaxed and quiet) and a good roster of beers. If I were to get the burger again I would order it medium and just go for fries.

This review is only for their brunch menu. We came here for breakfast since it was near our hotel. We ordered the Oaked Smoked Salmon, which is an appetizer– (two slices of smoked salmon over potato cakes with lettuce), Fish and Chips, Bailey Benedict (poached egg on potato cake with Hollandaise sauce, plus add on of smoked salmon, and Breakfast Burrito (scrambled egg, chorizo, tomato sauce, onions) with home-​fries. The quality of the dishes tasted like something you can get at a cafeteria. It was not great, but still edible.
I liked the décor of the place. Even though I was not satisfied with their breakfast, I guess I wouldn’t mind trying the dinner menu if I end up staying in the Financial District again.
*The bathroom is tricky to find. You would think to head towards the hotel, but it’s actually hidden towards the entrance. Walk towards the entrance, and look right. There is a door that leads downstairs to the bathrooms.

My co-​workers and I came here for a team lunch during a weekday afternoon. It gets quite busy here so I would recommend making a reservation. I had the croque monsieur with a side salad. It was mediocre at best. Way too salty. The waitress wasn’t very attentive and the food took awhile to get to our table.
But their STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING ($ 8) is the bomb! It was my first time trying the British dessert and it was love at first sight. The warm cake with the rich sauce and cold vanilla bean ice cream is a magnificent combination. Don’t leave without getting this.

Have been here for brunch and happy hour before. Really like the modern brasserie vibe here. Had authentic Irish breakfast which was quite good exactly what I was craving. Can’t make any complaints.

This pub is attached to the hotel I was staying at, but is a separate establishment. I had delicious wine. The bartender recommended the turkey burger — that turned out to be one of the best turkey burgers I’ve ever had. I have time for dinner in the city again tonight and am seriously tempted to go back and have another. It was hand ground turkey with chipotle mayo on the side (so I could control the amount). It came with a kale salad that I wasn’t too crazy about — I did eat the tomatoes and cucumbers off of it though.

Great bar and grill in the financial district. The burger and fries were some of the best I have had in New York City.

My coworkers and I went after work before an event at the Broad Street Ballroom. The bar was already full at around 615 when we wandered in. We were able to get standing room, and one of the waiters brought us chairs, which was amazing.
I got the Moscow mule, which was not the best Moscow mule I’ve ever had, but it was totally fine.
We all got burgers, which were delicious and came with fries.
I thought it was a great after-​work vibe and would definitely return.

I found the food basically a step above inedible and gross with below average service staff (unsmiling) as well.
For the area, it’s a draw because it’s relatively reasonably priced compared to other places that serve cr*p American/​Irish pub fare (fish and chips, burgers, etc.) and it’s often open until late in the morning — whereas many of the eating and drinking establishments in the area close early.
Woman in charge of reservations and waitress both were unfriendly and somewhat unpleasant to deal with. Food took about 45 minutes to come out for a party of six, came here around 12:30 on a weekday and the place was almost completely full.
Wouldn’t come here on my own (boss not paying).

We went for Sunday brunch as my friend loves the pancakes there. There only seemed to be 2 people on duty and took about 20mins for our coffees to turn up.
The French toast was ample and we had sides of bacon (cooked nice & crispy) and Irish sausages. For $ 20 for the brunch each, was on the pricy side and the quality & service were not just not good enough to justify the price.

I like the mini burgers and fish tacos. In addition, it’s bustling with finance folks given the close proximity to all the banks around the area. I always come here frequently for happy hour special — they have daily drinks/​cocktail from $ 6 – 9. I particularly enjoyed the Champagne Sangria.

Perfect place for perfect brunch. Highly recommended. Excellent food and very friendly staff.

Story: Came here for drinks with my friend waitress was very accommodating and food looked good. Tons of financiers crowding the place after work.

I came here with Co workers for a quick after work break. Talk about a trendy atmosphere! Nice red leather benches, modern art work, and spacious! Our waitress was nice enough to give us the special drink discount even though it was before 4pm (we came in at 3ish). I got the Monday drink special, champagne blossom. It was sweet and light. Overall a great place!

I’m not sure if there’s a proper term for this type of restaurant, but if you go out regularly, I’m certain you’ve experienced something similar countless times. Usually in these types of places, the food is pretty mediocre with maybe a bright glimmer of sunlight here and there, everything is overpriced, and the atmosphere is something I would describe as «upscale douchy:» Dark wood bar, dim lighting, maybe some quirky art theme or something else to distinguish itself. This place is the poster child for these types of restaurants. You could call it «common denominator dining» because no one is really a fan but no one really hates it. Needless to say I did not love my experience here…
First off, I had one of the worst session IPAs I’ve ever tried. Hardly any hoppy bitterness and very little floral or citrus flavors coming through. I know it’s not entirely the restaurants fault that I didn’t like this beer, but whoever is deciding on the drink menu should have the ability to recognize objectively that this beer does not meet most of the criterion necessary to be considered a SIPA and keep out of the taps.
I was a little hesitant to order a lobster roll here, but I went with it on the recommendation of our server. The lobster meat was tender, but I could tell it wasn’t fresh even though it was drenched in mayo to try to cover up the fishy flavor. It was served on a hot dog bun. The «Old Bay» fries had nary a dash of Old Bay, but they were tasty. I appreciated the side of greens with some house dressing that is heavy on the vinegar. But overall it was a pretty disappointing meal.
Service was hit or miss – slow at times and some missed drink orders, but our food all came out at relatively the same time and our server pre-​split our checks without asking (which was a plus in this case).
