Strip House

Absolutely the most underrated steakhouse in the city. Every time I go to this place or their other location in Vegas I’m satisfied. Striphouse never fails to deliver consistent quality and flavorful steaks every time. I love the the décor as well. Low light and and redish hue, just like a joint of that ilk should feel.

The worst steak that I have ever eaten in NYC. It was over salted and it came with a lot of spice. Appetizer was good (oysters and crab cake).
Manager or sommelier was very weird.
The bright spot was a waiter. He was exceptional.
My prior experience with this steak house was on East 12^th street. That location is more upscale with business casual attire. Midtown location was very touristy. I will not recommend it.

I’ve been to plenty of steakhouses all North America. This is definitely in my top 3. A little pricey, but I totally feel I got more than my money’s worth. Their Dry-​Aged Ribeye was done to perfection. The best I’ve ever had! Will come here again.

Very average. Nothing to write home about. New York strip Steak was on the dry side and not all that flavorful or tender, encrusted with salt and pepper on its blackened exterior. They give the option of having without that, I should’ve made that choice. Little neck clams casino left much to be desired. All the sides were good, creamed spinach, roasted asparagus and potato purée, but you’ll never get fat eating here. Small portions. Prices average for Manhattan. Definitely won’t make the «must return» list.

What a disappointment! Let me start off by saying that I’ve been to the location on 12^th multiple times and it’s always been wonderful to me. Since it’s the same company I was expecting the same service and the same quality of food but boy was I wrong. The ONLY thing this place had was personable hostesses who welcomed and walked us to the table. Everything else was wrong. First; unlike the location on 12^th they do NOT have a full bar. I had to settle for ordering a drink off their regular menu rather than my regular drink order. I had a «Pineapple Rye Sour» which was okay. I wasn’t impressed by it but it wasn’t bad either. My friend ordered an old fashion and he couldn’t even drink it because it was gross. What kind of bartender doesn’t know how to make an old fashion? Moving on. They bring bread and water to our table, the onion bread was good, it seemed freshly baked so that’s a plus, BUT the pretzel bread was extremely salty and hard. Yet another disappointment. For appetizers we had the Shrimp cocktail and a Caesar salad. Now, the shrimp cocktail was basically the same as it is at the other location so I was VERY happy about that, I enjoyed that. The Caesar salad? Another disappointment. It was soggy and just not fresh. The BIG disappointment was dinner, my friend had a filet with garlic green beans, I ordered the 16oz NY strip with Mac and cheese medium rare. Here is where I start to get REALLY annoyed at this place. First, the food took about an hr to get to us, then my medium rare steak came out very rare! I didn’t send it back because I had somewhere to be and I was starving, I wasn’t going to wait another hour for them to fix it. So I sucked it up and started eating. You know how when you’re hungry you’ll basically eat anything no matter how it tastes? Well, not this. I would rather starve than eat that steak. It was salty, it had too much garlic, it wasn’t cooked how I asked for it. I simply gave up on it. Couldn’t eat it! The Mac and cheese was another disappointment, it was dry and cold, probably because our food took so long to get to us when it got to the table it was cold. I decided to give my friends food a try and even that was bad. The green beans? Another disappointment. They were hard, undercooked and with way too much garlic. At this point I’m starving but I am not eating my food! My food was so salty even though I only took ONE bite, I drank my entire water and finished my whole drink. I was so thirsty from all the salt and garlic and I waited, and waited, and waited for water or another drink and nothing. I started timing the waiter, it took him 27 minutes to realize that I wasn’t eating my food. At this point I just wanted to leave so we asked him for water. From the point that I asked for water it took them 12 minutes to bring water to my table. Seriously? What kind of horrible service is this?! My friend sees I’m extremely upset and since he doesn’t want our night to be ruined he tells me «let’s order dessert, that’ll make you happy». At this point I just want to leave but I couldn’t say no, so I said okay. He ordered the rocky road and I ordered the baked Alaska dessert. Now, I love pistachio ice cream it is my absolute favorite (and chocolate, what girl doesn’t love chocolate?) plus meringue on top? Sounds like heaven! The waiter brings it and lights it up on fire and it looks wonderful. I figured, night redeemed right over a dessert. My friend even said «if we come back here let’s just order dessert» therefore I’m assuming his meal wasn’t all that great either. I take the first bite of of my dessert and gross. It’s supper nutty. It didn’t say anything about nuts in the menu, it simply said brûlée meringue, chocolate ice cream and pistachio ice cream. Where did all these nuts come from? And what would’ve happened if I had a nut allergy?! How do you not state on the menu that there’s nuts in a dessert? I didn’t even eat the nasty thing and we just asked for the check. Another 20 minutes waiting for the check and then waiting to pay, eventually I’m assuming what was the manager came over and took the payment and I guess since he saw or faces and how upset we were he took off the drink my friend never drank without us even asking, but even that can’t redeem this place. All in all, we spent $ 265 plus tip (bc when I was in college I worked in a restaurant so I will never NOT tip) on disgusting food and horrible service. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! What a horrible experience, they ruined my dinner, they ruined my day and they ruined my attachment to the location on 12^th bc I will probably never go back there either due to their association with this place.

So, my experience with Strip House Midtown was fairly frustrating this past weekend.
Where do I start?!
The visit was initiated by a cheesecake craving upon waking up from a long nap. A quick research session for the best cheesecake places in Midtown returned Strip House as a place to try. However, the address that listed Strip House at #10 didn’t match the location a few doors from me. So I referenced the two locations on Unilocal and they appeared to be the same establishment, just different locations. I also used Unilocal in addition to Strip House’s actual website to make sure a 10:09pm order could be accommodated. Both said 11pm, I was in the clear.
I called and the hostess said the kitchen closed «tonight» at 10pm, as their hours are mandated by business/​reservations on the books. Then why not make your close time state 10pm with exceptions for later service as necessary? I explained I had been sick all day and it would be more than awesome to ask management for just one slice of cheesecake. Afterall, the cheesecake is sitting in a fridge or freezer in the back, no cooks are needed to box up one slice of $ 12 cheesecake! The hostess kindly placed me on hold and inquired within.
The hostess returns a couple minutes later with good news! Her manager approved my request BUT I needed to be there as soon as possible (within 5 – 10 minutes at most) and they needed a credit card over the phone. I reiterated I was staying at The Iroquois, not but eight doors down, so being there quickly wasn’t an issue. I also agreed to the credit card requirement, IF she agreed to run it as I give it to her for safety and efficiency. She said okay.
I was set! I arrived within five minutes and walked to the bar for my pickup order. While waiting, I asked the bartender about private dining. She had no clue what I was talking about. I mentioned the hold music during my earlier call advertised the location having private dining. I reworded my question and asked if the mezzanine was their event space (with a pointing gesture to the mezzanine to be exact). She said in a decently noticeable accent, «No, no event dining here».
So which is it? 10pm or 11pm? Private dining or no private dining? Grrr. If I were the Sales Manager of the Strip House, I’d be furious to learn my team wasn’t educated on how to sell my space!
After that, the bartender handed me my cheesecake bag that had actually been sitting on the back bar this entire time… Just hanging out, not refrigerator or anything! Then the bartender asked for payment. I immediately inquired why it wasn’t already taken as discussed on the phone. She said «Oh, do you mean to use this card?» and picked up folded piece of receipt paper that was sitting in direct eyesight of another patron dining at the bar! The scrap paper included my name, the word cheesecake, credit card number, expiration date, and security code…
Does Strip House NOT comply with PCI Security Standards??? She certainly didn’t give one shit that my financial information was exposed to the public nor could she have shredded the piece of paper used! Unreal! Luckily, the bartender agreed to give me the piece of paper so I could properly dispose of it myself. But lets just say I simply gave the card when she asked for payment… God only knows what would have happened to it! So anyway, as the nice patron that I am, I still tipped and went on my way.
Still focused on satisfying my cheesecake craving, I traveled back to the hotel in the rain with my now $ 14 slice of cheesecake and try my best to ignore all that transpired… Until I reach my room and open the cheesecake bag. I was immediately pissed! They gave me less than half a to-​go container of strawberry sauce for a slice of cheesecake that the hostess claimed could be shared between three people! Firstly, two people at most could share their cheesecake. Secondly, only one of two people would be able to enjoy the sauce they gave! It didn’t cover but half of the TOP of the cheesecake! Which after eating a bite of the top of the cheesecake, I realized it was a hard icing substance coating the actual cheesecake. So in essence I wasted the very tiny amount of sauce on icing that I refused to eat.
Cool, Strip House! Cool.
Breakdown of the two stars given:

— Cheesecake was not overly creamy nor too sweet. It had a great texture and consistently, once I was past the nasty icing topping. I enjoyed it!
We do plan to return once we move to NYC in hope for a better experience based on major ratings, however.

Took my wife last night for first time. Nice welcome, nice server Jessica, and met the GM who also was warm and caring. The food we ordered was good except the $ 49 rib eye steak. It was small and thin, but the chef covered it in a ton of pepper. You could NOT taste the meat, no flavor other than a ton of pepper which gave me horrible heartburn afterwards and most of night sleeping. I would not order steaks here, or do without any pepper!

Stopped in for dessert to try the famous 24 layer chocolate cake. The cake was delicious but enough for a party of four to share. The service was impeccable. From the hostess to the maitre d’ to our wait staff. Great ambience. Will be back to try the dry aged ribeye.

This place has gotten to be pretty solid. Caesar salad is huge, oysters were fresh, 20 oz bone-​in strip was delicious, goose fat potatoes awesome, mushrooms were tasty, and the chocolate layered cake was enough to feed 4 people.
This place is great for a work event, if you want to impress someone, or for a special event.

Highly disappointed. I read all these reviews thinking this was going to be a high end steakhouse. My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We thought we would do something special by coming to a nice fancy steakhouse.
To start they charged me for my water, 2 bottles were $ 18. If your that high end of a place you should be able to give us free water. Food; I will say the salads were good but that was it. The food was very salty. The steak was highly seasoned; salty and spicy. I feel if your quality is as good as you say it should not need much seasoning at all. To end our highly dissatisfied meal for our anniversary. We did not receive any free dessert or writing on our plate or even a «happy anniversary.»
Overall $ 200 spent and I’d rather had gone to Ruth’s Chris.

Really nice ambiance at this location. The service was top notch and the food was exceptional.

Black truffle creamed spinach. That’s the best item on the menu. Sure, its nice to pair it with a bone-​in, dry-​aged grass-​fed steak, and perhaps a glass of Syrah, but you need to build your meal around this one side.
Service is great, although sometimes a touch too stuffy. Aside from the great steaks (very nearly as good as Peter Luger’s), there are a lot of other great items on the menu (tuna tartar, hamburger, bacon…).
Décor is better at the downtown location, but I’m a midtown guy so I’m here more often. Solid weekday lunch spot if you’re meeting a friend or otherwise want something a little classy.

My husband and I came to Strip house on Valentine’s Day. We had creamed spinach and lobster bisque for sides and appetizer; they were both amazing and delicious. However, the 20 oz NY strip was dry and lacking of seasoning. We also have seafood platter ½, it was fresh but again lacking of seasoning… I’m actually a lil disappointed. (service was good tho)!

Picked this place for a friend’s birthday. Food was good. Creamed spinach is recommended. We got 2 porterhouse steaks along with various sides. We of course got the famous 24 layer chocolate cake and a rich cheesecake. The manager had a good humor.
The only criticism I had was at the end of the service the server asked what happened to the tip. We already included the tip with the bill and she didn’t calculate it right so when I explained the tip, she said only 80 dollar tip? I was like no we put 100 dollars (yes, that’s more than 15% tip). She went back to recalculate and she said I was right. I have no issues with miscalculation but for a relatively high end restaurant, to be questioning the tip was a little off. I get tips are important for these servers, but I would appreciate it more if they really confirm before they question the amount to the customer.

I’ve been to Strip House countless number of times but this was my first time at this location. I am solely basing it on the chain and not this location however the waiter that we had was phenomenal. He was so humble, honest and efficient. I normally order their dry aged rib eye but they had a special last night for 2 people: grass fed organic 40oz tomahawk rib eye. To start we ordered a bottle of Syrah wine. We had an order of bacon, shared the rib eye with a side of creamed spinach and finished our meal with their baked alaska. The steak was cut table side which was a nice touch and we also had ours cooked with their Philadelphia rub which is apparently a crap load of special pepper and salt. Very tasty!
Overall, the service and food were very good. This place reigns as one of the top steakhouses in NYC.
PS: This location has a lot of female cocktail waitress as the one downtown does not offer this kind of service. I guess its because of the midtown location? Who knows. A nice place for men to objectify women I suppose.

I just ate here last week! Casey the bartender is great and very helpful without being intrusive. The manager Emily was hugely helpful and really made our meal memorable. The steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare of course, and for a business dinner I couldn’t have asked for more. Definitely recommend the barrel aged old fashioned, best I’ve ever had!!!

What’s left to say? My favorite place in the city for a romantic meal

When trying out a steakhouse for the first time, I tend to always go for the Filet Mignon to set a benchmark for future reference, and Strip House’s Filet Mignon was definitely among the better ones I’ve had. My dining partner had the Dry-​Aged Rib-​Eye, which we both agreed was not as impressive. Wine was great, and vibe was definitely on par for an old-​fashioned, classy date.

We entered the Strip House as hungry customers and left feeling pretty satisfied with the entire experience. My boyfriend and I shared the spicy tuna tartare and the cider glazed scallops. The tuna tasted very fresh and the scallops were the perfect texture. The meat was also delicious, but the sides (creamed spinach/​potatoes) were even better. We finished our dinner with the chocolate cake and coffee! You’ll probably need to pack most of the cake to-​go though because it is HUGE. The service was alright; nothing too special. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the ambience.

Both waiters on our service team were clueless — one absent throughout the meal and forgetting our mention of using OpenTable Pay at the start of the meal, and the other overbearing with his painfully fake enthusiasm and upselling — but our busser was spectacular.
Brussels Sprout$ 12.00 — very basic… waste of stomach space
Herb Fries $ 12.00 — not bad but not worth the space with goose fat potatoes available, and stayed crisp longer than most
Kosher Ribeye $ 48.00 — solid medium-​rare
Choc. Cake $ 16.00 — great finish

Wifey and I took the SPICY TUNA TARTARE and the CIDER GLAZED SCALLOPS both were great.
Obviously, I had to try the new york strip (16oz). It was AWESOME! A big chunk of meet.
The service was great. Each employee know exactly their respective role.
All in all… A sure bet.

I did not like the waiter service they never came and ask if we like our food or if you need anything, food ok not excellent.
If you feel not too hungry try to find other restaurant

I haven’t gotten the chance to eat at a lot of New York Steak establishments, but I could definitely say that the Strip House has some good steak and service!
Came here with a very large group and had a special prix fixe dinner with choices. I always grade based on the dishes I had and then the service. Here are the dishes, in order:
Assorted Bread & Butter — ⁵⁄₅. Only had the pretzel, but it was nice and hot! No need to spread, just dab some butter onto your plate and dip lol
Lobster Bisque — ⁵⁄₅. Good pieces of lobster. They pour the soup right over the fixins’. Creamy and delicious. Very rich. I’d get this again.
16oz New York Strip — ⁴⁄₅. A very good cut. Asked for medium rare and they got it right! The garlic accompanying it to spread… awesome. I knew of the idea of that, but never had it in a restaurant before. So very cool to be able to spread the garlic. Gave it a nice kick, too! I’m more of a ribeye-​guy, so this was good for something I don’t usually choose.
Strip House Potatoes — ⁴⁄₅. Also very delicious. Lots of flavor. Lots of butter :)
Charred Broccoli — 3.5÷5. Nothing to write home about. Couldn’t really get a grasp of the white sauce on it. But definitely needed the roughage with 16oz of steak!
Mac & Cheese — ³⁄₅. Mac & Cheese.
Chocolate Cake — ³⁄₅. Maybe I’m not a fan of chocolate cake. It’s always too sweet to me. At least this one was moist.
Homemade Cheesecake — 3.5÷5. Better than Junior’s. Creamy and a bit on the lemon-​y side. Also, nothing to write home about.
Service was really good. Prompt. Good at keeping switching the dishes and silverware, even with such a large group. Kept the wine coming. Very professional.
Overall, I’d come back here again for a nice night of steak. It’s better than Peter Luger’s.

We had a party of 6 and I was entertaining clients. I am a big fan of the downtown location so this is an ideal spot in midtown.
The food is what you expect. The steaks are delicious! The special options were excellent, bone in options, 60 oz filet carved table side, etc.
We had the basic seafood tower to start. The sides were very small. Lobster mac & cheese, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes that must have been caked in butter through he process.
Our waiters were nice but horribly slow. Not sure if that is on them or the bartenders. A roughly 3 hour dinner and we only ordered 2 rounds of drinks. How is that possible?
Lastly the bathrooms. 2 bathrooms in the main floor that are unisex. There was a line 4 deep numerous times throughout the night. The guy who left the bathroom as I entered clearly forgot to spray the Lysol that is left for everyone to clearly see when you enter. I was disgusted and got sick. It smelt that bad.

Great food, cool ambiance, good service.

Amazing food, amazing service, the décor could use a little adjustment, but had an otherwise wonderful experience here.
Sat at the bar to wait for my husband and was immediately assisted by the bartender.
We were seated immediately when my husband arrived and the waiter was with us almost right away. He presented the menus and explained the specials. A bread basket and water was brought on.
I have to say, the service here is like a symphony — it flowed from one person to another. A busser would come to clear the table just as one course was presented. We really enjoyed the unobtrusive but super attentive service.
We had the following:
Oysters — 3 East, 3 West. Delicious and fresh.
Stone Crab Claw — This was probably the only disappointing thing. Even though the waiter told me there would be only 1 crab claw, it just didn’t sound right. When I ordered it and only one small claw came on a big plate full of ice, hubby and I just had to laugh. When the check came and I saw that it was $ 18, I definitely felt a little ripped off.
Truffle Creamed Spinach — AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. That’s all I can say. It was so creamy that you felt like you were eating butter and fat. There were still chunks of spinach but it was still smooth. The flavor was outstanding. Peter Luger used to have my all time favorite Creamed Spinach but I have to say Strip House’s spinach wins. (Sorry Peter!) The portion was right for the both of us… but I think I would’ve liked just one more bite…
Ribeye — Delicious, amazing, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Loved the crust. This was the «fattier» cut of the two.

Chocolate Layer Cake — How is this a human invention? Did God not create this wonderful amazing 500 layer chocolate cake? The slice that came was literally 8 inches tall and 5 inches wide!!! This would take 4 adults to eat. We obviously had to take it home. Yea, don’t feel too sorry for us…
In conclusion, food was amazing and service was great. Obviously, you pay for such extravagance — our bill was around $ 250 including tax and tip. Can’t wait to come back in the future.

Probably the best steak I’ve ever had. I ordered the New York 16oz Medium and had French fries as the side which was amazing. My friend had the filet mignon and goat fat potato which was Delish!
Also ordered the crab cake as appetizer and although it wasn’t like a typical crab cake it was amazing!
I will definitely come back here again.

This is a tough review for me. For nearly 40 years the ONLY steak house I’ve been to is Sparks. You can read my review. Now I’ve strayed twice. First time was at the Strip House on 12^th street and, a few weeks ago (Sept 2015) this one on 44^th.
The atmosphere and service at Sparks still have the Strip House (s) beat but Sparks stopped serving dry aged steaks a few years ago. While still excellent there’s no comparison to a properly prepared, dry aged steak.
If you want the best steak in New York the Strip House is your place. If you have business clients or just want the best «steak» atmosphere and service in town Sparks is your place.

Bacon and the crab cakes are a must for appetizer. Ordered the 20oz bone in sirloin and all I can say was amazing. The salt and pepper crust just added to the taste. Must be accompanied with the spinach in truffle oil. Wasn’t crazy about any of the potatoes tho.
Oh and as for the chocolate cake. make sure you have a group of at least 4 to finish that cake it’s amazing full of chocolate and huge!
Deff one of the better steak houses out there

I’m the type of chick to order fish at a steakhouse. Yep. At Strip House, the non-​steak options are top notch and not neglected.
Tonight I had the tuna tartare, creamed corn, and split a strip steak with my bf. Delishhhh
The tuna was fresh, spicy and creamy… thanks to the wasabi roe, avocado, and sauce. Every bite was elevated with flavor.
The corn had good notes as well… Slightly spicy, texturized with breadcrumbs and pancetta. I was in the mood for creamed corn (random) and was satisfied.
The steak is always good here — tender, perfect temp, well rested.
Pros — date night, sexy RED ambiance, friendly and non-​pushy waitstaff, prompt bussers, fast cocktails
Cons — tables are close (heard e v e r y word of the couples next), tables themselves get crowded with large plates/​side dishes/​glasses
Cons are futile compared to the food/​service/​atmosphere

Came here for my brother’s birthday and everyone ordered the Bone Rib Eye. Ordered a bunch of appetizers including the fries, corn, asparagus and dozens of clams/​oysters. Their steak is grilled to have a very crispy outside and tender on the inside. It was a bit salty for me after eating a few pieces.
The bacon was delicious but a bit on the fatty side. I prefer the bacon from Peter Luger’s.
No complaints overall. A great steakhouse and ordered a few wine bottles. A party of 13, came out to $ 153 per person. Would still recommend this restaurant!

Came here with my friend for restaurant week lunch. In general, the restaurant week food here was so-​so. There were not many options for courses. The first course I chose was sald — nothing special just ordinary salad. The second course I chose was bass in the bag. I did not like it since it did not taste well… The bass was cooked with a few vegetables, which tasted awful… The third course, dessert, was sandae. Again, very normal sweet course that you can get from any almost any american restaurants in the city.
I have seen many positive reviews here but unluckily, I did not get what I expected after seeing all these good reviews. It could be because I came here in restaurant week, but there are so many restaurants offered awesome restaurant week menus. Restaurants can choose to offer restaurant week menu or not. So I’d say if a restaurant cannot give good restaurant week food, I doubt its capability offering extraordinary food in usual time.

Picture this: two twenty-​somethings from the Bronx trying to celebrate this Unilocaler’s birthday. She’s turning 25, graduating with her Master’s in two weeks and trying to make ends meet with two part time jobs. Her other half is working en route to bigger goals. Not exactly the kind of folks that would be welcomed in a steakhouse, right? Wrong.
We were treated kindly and fairly throughout the night. Service was beyond excellent at this Midtown restaurant decorated in shades of red (my favorite color). We were offered a late night «strip tease» menu, which was a prix fixe consisting of tableside salad and steak service. Paired with two tasty, well-​made cocktails, we thought this was a good deal.
The food was excellent. The Caesar salad was made to our specifications (.01 percent anchovies haha), and the steak was cooked perfectly to a medium-​well temperature. I believe it was a dry aged steak, which I’d never had before. Paired with the garlic, truffle creamed spinach and goose-​fat potatoes, we felt like true royalty.
The meal was topped off with a baked Alaska, which I’ve been looking for in NYC for quite some time. Simply put: IT WAS ON FIRE!
Thank you to the staff at the Strip House for making my 25^th birthday really special, even though this was a splurge for us and we might not be able to return very often.

Came here with a party of 5, we sat upstairs. Very cute, upscale restaurant. They have a coat check right when you walk in. We had reservations and were seated right away. Service was very good, they took our drink and food order very quickly. Waiters were very on top of refilling our water and were very helpful and attentive. When we first sat down, it was VERY windy because the AC was blowing right at us, one of the staff members noticed our discomfort and offered to close the vents — I personally really appreciated this as I would not have been able to enjoy my meal if was cold and wind was blowing at me the whole time.
After reading a bunch of the recent reviews, I had relatively low standards going into this restaurant and KNEW to order my filet rarer than I actually wanted. I ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon Medium Rare, and it came out Medium Rare-​ish, closer to Medium. They asked me if I wanted it rare all the way through, and I said yes … but it really wasn’t that rare at all, but I was okay with that and I did really enjoy it. If you like your meat super rare, I would definitely emphasize this when ordering. It was an excellent piece of filet mignon, very tender, perfectly cooked with ZERO fat (I hate it when my filet mignon has a chunk of fat on the side).

Truffle Spinach: an absolute must, SOOOO good if you like cream spinach like I do
Cauliflower: I liked this, was also a good portion and flavored very nicely, complimented meat very well
Mushrooms: good size portion, good, but nothing special
Mashed Potatoes: good if you’re in the mood, again nothing special
Green Beans: in my opinion, quite bland and healthy tasting, I would not order this again
Dessert — we got the chocolate cake to share (5 people). Nowhere on the menu does it specify how incredibly large the desserts are, but they are VERY sharable! I’m not a big cake person, but this chocolate cake was AMAZING! The couple I went with to this restaurant had been a few times previously and said that while the other desserts were very good as well, this was easily their favorite dessert.
Overall, I had a good experience here, the food was delicious, would come back here again and recommend to others.

Location for After Work. Extremly noisy, dark surrounding. Steaks are «OK». Monster Shrimps Cocktail is lovely.

Traditionelles Steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan. Den aufgehängten Bildern nach zu urteilen, muss über die Jahre die eine oder andere Film– oder Showgrösse dort aufgetaucht sein. Die Einrichtung ist ansonsten sehr gemütlich, wenn auch die Klimaanlage eher frostige Temperaturen verbreitet. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Platz auf dem Upper Deck, mit Blick über das ganze Restaurant.
Auf Cocktails hatten wir keine Lust. Stattdessen haben wir uns grad für Bier und Wein entschieden. Den Wein gab es sogar im Offenausschank.
Das Fleisch war ausgezeichnet und groooss. Rindsfilet vom feinsten. Einmal 12 Oz. für mich und einmal 8 Oz. für meine Frau. Und das ist im Steakhouse ja die Hauptsache. Alles andere ist Beilage und trifft in der Regel eher den amerikanischen Geschmack.
So auch der Service an den ich mich als Europäer immer wieder erst etwas gewöhnen muss. Alle sehr freundlich, und extrem schnell im abräumen. 6 Leute an der Zahl die sich während unseres Aufenthalts mehr oder weniger intensiv um uns gekümmert haben. Mag wahrscheinlich auch daran gelegen haben, dass das Lokal eher schwach Besucht war.
Die Preise in Manhattan sind auf hohem CH Niveau, so auch in diesem Fall. Für das Fleisch ok, für den Rest zu viel.
