Stephen Gauci’s Private Music Lessons

I’ve been know Stephen for a few months. I’ve played the flute since I was a kid and I had a lot of teachers in Italy before moving to New York so I didn’t have to learn the basic stuff. He is really great with me. I am currently having lessons of flute jazz and improvisation. He has a unique approach to teaching music, due to his hearing loss, that is really amazing.
First of all, he is a good listener. He sits with the students at their first lesson and listen to them, so he can find the best approach for everyone on the basis of their needs, preferences, passions and goals.
Secondly, he’s friendy and patient, he never gets angry but at the same time he’s hard and determined. He gains both the friendship and the respect from his students.
Lastly, but not less important, he enjoys what he’s doing. He has this wonderful passion for music, he loves to play the flute and he brings this passion to the students, he involves them and ultimately he makes them as passionate as he is.
So, I would definitely recommend Stephen as a flute teacher.

Stephen is an absolutely fantastic teacher for students of all levels. I played saxophone for years but, like many of us, put the horn down when life and adulthood got in the way. But I’ve recently picked the sax back up, after nearly a decade, with loads of help from Stephen. Not only am I getting my chops back, I’m learning loads of new things that I never knew before.
Stephen’s knowledge of the instrument and music is immense, but he has the rare ability to distill things down and tailor them to each of his students’ needs.
I’d highly recommend lessons with Stephen. Whether you’re just starting, looking to learn a few new tricks, or finally dusting off the old horn like me.
