Came here about two or three times. It was the only place in the area that was opened in the morning on my way to work which was very convenient. About two weeks ago I ordered two passion fruit green teas(one for myself and another one that I picked up for a coworker who never tried bubble tea). They were very watered down. After drinking mine, I threw the other one away since it wasn’t a representative bubble tea for my coworker to try.

Taro bubble tea is watery and flavorless… Not recommend it. Just came here because it was the closest spot but left disappointed

One of the few places that doesn’t use reconstituted milk powder to make their taro milk tea. I like skim milk in my teas/lattes, so it’s nice that smoocha gives you that option. Drinks are priced reasonably and thankfully the location is never obnoxiously packed with people.

Pretty disappointing experience. I ordered the Taro and it was way too foamy and too sweet for even my liking(i love anything with sugar, so this is saying a lot). The price was also super unreasonable. I paid $ 5.XX for a small!

After a salty, savory session of Korean fried chicken at nearby Bonchon, we needed some boba in our stomachs to counter it. Enter Smoocha– we hoped that its sweet would counter the savory. And sadly, what we got did not satisfy. Upon first sip, it was a bland, barely flavorful of milk tea. It was overwhelmingly bitter tea with a milky aftertaste. We asked a worker behind the counter to add some sweetness to it. While it did counter the tea, it didn’t make it much better. I think that… if you’re looking for a more earthy, healthy(?) flavor, I guess Smoocha will fill that need, but its boba /bubble tea drinks just doesn’t cut it for me.

If you want good bubble tea please avoid this location! The bubbles are so hard and dry. I’m not sure if it was an off day but it was bad! Because of the reviews, I made my sister walk all around K-town looking for this place! We are addicted to bubble tea and both were so disappointed with the boba :(The lady said the boba was hard because of the ice but that’s ridiculous, bubble tea is usually served iced! Anyway, for bubble tea please save yourself the trip!

Got a large size of veggie juice and it indeed tasted veggie! Kale was actually my favorite vegetable and it mixed well with celery. A bit weird flavor at first sip though if you are not used to the strong flavor of celery(it dominated other fruits by a large amount). Will give bubble tea a try next time!

I wanted to go to Gong Cha next door, but even though it was 11:30 and they said they opened at 11, their boba still wasn’t ready. Happily this place was just down the block, and I was able to pop in for an emergency bubble tea fill. I got the standard milk tea with boba, no ice, and asked for it to be less sweet. Boba was solid. Tea was a good level of sweetness. I haven’t tried any of their other flavors, but I’ll certainly be back!

I think I’ll upgrade it to a 3 for the not so super sweet bubble tea. Good sesame bubble tea.

I was on my way to date night at Kang ho dong(Korean bbq) and it was pouring rain. We put our names on the list and found this tea shop as a waiting place. Decided to get the bubble tea and it was on point. Smooth taste and not bitter at all. I would recommend this to other people who are into bubble tea.

Wow, this place sucks. I got the Green Tea — Milk tea without the tapioca… it doesn’t tastes like green tea at all. In fact, it tastes like earl grey milk tea — which I distinctively hate. If I wasn’t in such a rush to go back to the office, I would have given it back and complained for a new one. The service seemed to suck too. Apparently, they messed up the order of the person before me. When she was like«This wasn’t what I ordered.» and the guy making the drink just rolled his eyes at her. How rude. Just seeing that makes me not want to come here again. Of course, on top of the fact that my drink doesn’t even taste like what I ordered. Save your $ 4.08 on a small bubble tea, and take it to Gong-cha on 32nd between 5th and 6th ave. Seriously. Don’t come here.

«The watermelon tastes like shit.» Cute words from a cute girl who used to work here. Her favorite bubble tea flavor is Chai. What a coincidence? So is mine. Smoocha started off awfully strong. The chai bubble tea used to be something I could be proud of saying I ordered, now it’s as impotent as a 90 year old without viagra. Good thing I don’t plan on living till 90. They probably just don’t put as much powder as they used to, which is a shame, because you can’t tell it’s chai even if it held a knife to your throat and told you it was. «I cut chu, I cut chu so bad» — Chai. The place would do better with a couch or two; backless chairs never quite makes a café feel like home. Occasionally I think of her and her cute freckles. My ex sassed me one time about her. «Why don’t you just ask her out blah blah blah meh meh meh»

Definitely not a fan of their milk tea… asked my server to make it with very little sugar and it still came out tasting like a diabetic nightmare. The milk tea was also quite thin and watery, unlike that of Chatime’s. Going to skip this one next time and save my money for Chatime.

This has been my favorite place to get coffee when I am in Koreatown. I tend to get coffee because it is really strong and keeps me up for the right amount of time as I drive home from New York. The teas are much smoother than some places so I like how they compliment the toppings well. This place also serves green smoothies and they are organic and fresh. I have tried a few of the skinny green smoothie first thing in the morning and nothing makes me scream refreshing like the smell of vegetables and fruits! ALSO, this place has korean donuts! They are deep friend and filled with custard cream topped with some sugar. Sounds like a typical cream donut, but trust me its nothing like you’ve tasted before as it is light and fluffy without tasting so airy. Worth a try with your cup of illy coffee.

I wish Unilocal let me rate Smoocha 3.5 stars. The bubble teas are good, Smoocha has many flavors and you can also make your own bubble tea, which is nice. I came with a coworker and she had Lychee bubble tea and I got green tea bubble tea, the drinks are not over sweetened and the flavors are good. However their bubbles taste stale and I wish it could be better next time I come to Korean town.

I love flavored bubble teas sans milk and stopped in this cute little shop on my way to work to check out their flavors. I’m always excited about trying a new flavor and they didn’t disappoint with the blueberry bubble tea. The shop was clean with a cute décor. I think the prices were average considering the neighborhood. I had the flavored bubbles(tapioca pearls) and enjoyed my tea. There’s not a lot of places to buy bubble tea in the immediate area so my quench for bubble tea was satisfied. I will definitely return and check out some other flavors.

This is a place you can go to get bubble tea, sit quietly with your thoughts, and enjoy a moment away from the busyness of Ktown. It’s tucked away past 5th Ave and is usually on the empty side. The bubble tea itself is standard… they’ve got all the usual flavors and korean-style lightness. Nothing here is overly sweet, which is a huge plus! Additionally, I can treat myself to fresh juice or a cup of tea here if I’m looking for something lighter. With vegetable and fruit juices such as ‘Face Eat’ coming in 2 levels(1. for a pleasant vitamin fix and 2. for nextlevelthere’sceleryinthis) I can rely on tasty, affordable juice when my skin or immune system needs a boost.

This is a cute lil’ café that offers free wifi, with the login and pw printed out on your receipt. I got their strawberry boba with a jasmine green tea base, which was sweet and sugary! Oh, and you get 10% off when you check-in on FB.

So excited that a bubble tea/smoothie(although there’s like 5+/- around that area) opened up near work! Yet, I wasn’t too excited on the drink that I ordered. Went in and got a hot Milk Tea with an Earl Grey Black Tea base with Lychee Jelly. It was bland! Really watered down, bland… I might have just ordered the wrong drink or maybe the worker didn’t know how make it right. However, I’ll go back and try something else next time. Extra star because they also sell various drinks!

Smoocha is smart by not just offering milk tea, but also healthy options such as fresh fruit & vegetable juices, coffee/espresso, and smoothies. I ordered the iced milk tea with an earl grey tea base and my boyfriend ordered the iced lychee green tea. Both had great flavors and the tea taste was very strong which I loved. However, they came out somewhat warm and a bit watery probably because the tea they used was freshly brewed and piping hot, thus melting the ice. Had this not been the case it would have been perfect! Also they gave my bf a medium when he ordered a large, but they were kind enough to make him a new one and gave him the previous order as well! The place is small with limited seating capacity. It was the perfect place to chill for a bit as we waited for our table at the KBBQ spot across the street. Can’t wait to try a fresh juice next time!
