Kate Rhee – State Farm Insurance Agent

We were very impressed with how easy it was to insure our pick-​up truck with Kate Rhee Agents. Virginia Chan assisted us on a Saturday afternoon late in the day and was able to email our temporary insurance card to us within the hour so that we could pick up our new truck the next day! I highly recommend this agency! They are really competent and efficient.

Great experience. I have renters and term life insurance and they have been great to work with, immediate to follow up and professional. I didn’t have any experience with purchasing insurance and they answered all my questions. Very pleased with the service, the pricing and the way I’ve been treated so far.

Great customer service. Great group of people to help you. Been doing business with them over 3 years and they really help you the most they can to find savings towards your insurance. Just switch over my father from Gieco and saved him over 50 dollars a month for a full coverage. Will refer anyone I know for insurance. Thanks guys.

I’ve been a client since 2011 and at first I felt like the team were my close friends. I felt like they wanted me to get the best prices and services available. I received birthday cards and emails for almost all I occasions.
Now it just feels like any old office. Either they have a large over turn rate or people are being promoted elsewhere. At times I really want to change my insurance provider but now a days everyone wants to meet numbers, so I stay.
One day I got tricked in to «getting a lower payment on my loan» I honestly thought I was being asked a number of questions to see if I can get lower insurance payment. I realized what had happen when I hung up the call and saw an inquiry on my credit report. Like I said, everyone is looking to make their quotas/​numbers.
I would recommend to someone new maybe you’ll get that same wonderful service I did at the beginning.

I was told to use this agent because of their flexible hours. They start early in the morning, and work until mid evening. Arthur was assigned to me, and he helped me get the renters insurance I needed fast, so I could move in. Even after their phones were closed for the evening, Arthur offered to email me and help get me the paperwork so I would have it ready. Their service was great.

Never had to purchase renter insurance before so can’t claim this to be ‘as good as it gets,’ however, I had a very pleasant experience with this location. Went directly to State Farm online to get an online quote then Unilocaled for an office because I prefer to do things in person. The online quote seemed reasonable at around $ 140/​annum for my needs.
Walked in, sat right down with Steve; he was patient, thorough, and to the point. It was easy and my coverage clearly explained.
Seeing some negative reviews, I guess you never know. But, I was in and out in less than thirty minutes, paid in full, and given all of my docs both in person and via email. If this isn’t as good as it gets it was pretty darn close imo.

I had another insurance company but they didn’t explain what I was being covered for and didn’t help me with any discounts. They also didn’t accept a lot of documentations to prove things and it was frustrating having to explain my situation to a new person at the customer service line each time. I decided to start looking for quotes online to see which company I should switch to. Chris helped me lower the quote on the State Farm website and he explained why my other insurance company was doing what they were doing. I have decided to switch here because it is really quick to do documentation with this company and because of the personal support.

I’m very concerned about the legal and moral integrity of this business. I agreed to an insurance quote 6 months ago, and paid it in full. The amount was agreed to with the agent, Chris. I decided to pay State Farm and turn down a competing price that was slightly better because I already had a contract with Kate Rhee.
Now, I am being charged for another 62% on top of what I paid because Chris and Hanna claim that there was a mistake in my original price, and if I do not pay the additional amount, my insurance claim will be void in 1 month.
First of all, if there is an error, someone should have told me immediately, so I could have cancelled the insurance and gone to the competitor at a massive discount. Second of all, once you agree on a price, that should be the final price. I have never heard of a situation where you pay for the product, and then there’s a surprise charge or they take the claim away. The correspondence on this issue has been painfully slow, and the agents at State Farm don’t seem to understand why it’s wrong to retroactively change the price of their product.
I am seriously considering consulting legal council on this if I do not receive a refund for half a year of insurance or an assurance that my original contract is being upheld in the near future.

Super easy. Best rate I was able to find for a being young adult male living in NYC. Great transparency and zero hassles. Virginia was very helpful and nice.

I switched here after dealing with another insurance agency where the staff was really unreliable.
I love this office– when I call, it always seems like they have my file in front of them immediately, and they handle whatever I need right away, totally painless. Plus, I always thought of State Farm as being more expensive, but (at least for my renter’s policy), the same coverage was quite a bit cheaper than the cheapest policy I that I had elsewhere. I couldn’t have asked for greater customer service from Virginia Chan. She was extremely helpful and honest… not to mention so patient and quick to adjust my renter’s insurance policy to my needs and liking. I trust her and would recommend to friends and family!

I was referred to Ryan McDermott by a friend and he was absolutely fantastic. He went above and beyond to help me with a few insurance issues and made everything very simple to understand and straight forward. He was lovely to work with and I have highly recommended him to my friends after the terrifying recent East Village gas explosion.

I had an awesome experience with this insurance company. I was searching for quotes as a first time car insurance shopper and was disappointed with the other companies because of the high prices. Chris P. made it happen, not only for myself, but my dad as well. He noticed that my dad was getting overcharged from another insurance company he was using and found a way for us to both save. He was very thorough, knowledgeable & patient throughout the process. He kept in contact until everything was completed. I recommend State Farm to friends and family. Called twice — First, talked to Stephen and explained my problem with James Lavelle’s office (they do not care about their clients and you get 10 different answers for one question!) — He had no interest to help.
Called a week later and talked to Ryan. Never heard back.
I just want to be able to trust my insurance agent when I have a problem. Found a great agent in Greenpoint! Very bad customer service here!
Update following Kate Rhee’s reply: I was told by Stephen and Ryan that they would call me back — My point: They were supposed to help me transfer to their office. Baddd customer service.

I called another «fancy» home insurance provider and was told I needed to schedule a home visit, get together all these forms, told it was complex and blah blah blah. After two weeks of back and forth I decided to see if perhaps another insurance company could help me, our home wasn’t that big or complicated.
A few calls later I speak with Steven Jean and he concisely explains what is involved in getting home insurance. One hour later, it is done. Wow, Steven saved me heaps of time, thank you, Steven!

I switched State Farm one year ago after my last provider left me completely in the lurch following over ten years of loyalty. I’ve been very happy with State Farm so far. They were able to offer me an even better rate than my previous provider and the customer service so far has exceeded my expectations.

Working with Ryan McDermott at this State Farm office was a pleasure and completely stress free. I had a bad experience from AllState and wanted to switch my renter’s insurance and insure a piece of jewelry. I’m a bit of a paranoid person sometimes so I had a lot of questions to ask Ryan about what was covered. He answered all of them knowledgeably and patiently. That’s what I appreciated most. I’ve now moved both of those policies over to StateFarm because the superb customer service. Not to mention, the premiums here are a lot better in comparison. So glad I made the decision to speak to Ryan and State Farm!

We were closing and needed home owners insurance ASAP. I assumed the process was going to be long with millions of questions and have to submit in documents but that was def. not the case! Stephen was very professional, had superb customer service, easy to talk to and was quick. He answered all our questions and explained everything to us in detail with great advise. I got at least 4 quotes from other companies, which were all outrageously high. When I called, Steve was very personable and friendly, and really took his time with me on the phone. The price I got from them was better than any of the others, and it was really nice to get such great service.
