The service was above average, the décor is interesting and different, but the menu was very limited. However, the seating arrangement is simultaneously cute and upscale. We ordered the fried calamari and pop burgers. The calamari wasn’t seasoned well despite the herbs pictured in the photo; as a result, we had to dunk them into the marinara sauce so we weren’t just chewing on plain squid. The pop burgers were juicy and succulent. It’s everything you want out of a good burger, except slider sized. Burgers sometimes lack consistency in that not every ingredient covers the whole burger. That was not the case here. Every bite was uniform and equally delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy and not oily. Naturally, burgers and fries pair well together.

Been there twice, both times in the mid-to-late afternoon on a weekday. Both times, the food and drink were well priced and decent enough, but the service was insanely slow for how few people were there each time. The second time I went, I asked 3 times and waited over 20 minutes to get a drink I had ordered — felt like I had to pester them so they’d remember I placed an order. At the very least, the waiter was nice enough to not charge me for that drink.

Our reservation request, made through Unilocal, was lost in cyberspace. But the manager was very accommodating, found us a large table, and directed our friends to it. The place is justifiably famous for it’s burgers, we had multiple orders of the Pop Burger(3 sliders) and the Lamburger(big enough for 2). I drank my first vanilla porter… which tasted a lot like Crème Soda. Richard stuck with the South Hampton Belgian style, and liked it better. There were a decent amount of beer choices. This seems like a new place, but it already has its share of regulars, and they’re as friendly as puppies. Start talking to someone at the bar. and you’ve got a new pal! –Drink Club NYC is a roving group of New York imbibers,. a different bar every week!

I went to Pop Pub on a Monday night around 6:30 until 8:30. I was looking for a place where I could get work done and talk to my friend without shouting. Pop Pub accomplished both of those objectives. When my friend and I walked in, the place was mostly empty and we had our pick of where to sit. We asked the host if there were outlets for our laptops– this limited our options, but he was honest about our choices. The happy hour options were decent and our server made sure to note all of the available discounted drinks. At the beginning, the waitstaff felt a little over-attentive, but I had read Unilocal reviews prior to attending and one of the biggest criticisms was slow service, so I understood why they were trying to stay on top of every table. However, as the our stay wore on, they eased up slightly, but still made sure we were taken care of when drinks were low or when we made eye contact. The noise level was reasonable, it didn’t get too crowded, and the service was decent. Overall, I would return to Pop Pub to do remote work on a Monday evening and feel comfortable that it’d be a hassle-free experience.

We had Popburged catered at work one day so I guess this review is a little biased since I had the food for free. Anyway, the mini burgers(sliders, if you will) and mini veggie burgers are great — the veggie is similar to Shake Shack’s shroomburger — as are the tater tots. I did get a slight stomach ache a while later but they tasted great going down!

I have been here many times. But the last experience wasn’t as great as the other ones because of two reasons. I had booked a table for 7:15 pm. But, the manager took a while to assign us a table. This didn’t go well with the group. Bulk order of nachos(plain nachos) with guacamole costs an arm and a leg. We couldn’t believe that it was for $ 80. It was a big rip-off and unbelievable.

I thought the food was awesome. Served piping hot. Nice atmosphere. Nice selection of tap brews. Little pricy for just beer and burgers but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great place to grab drinks with friends and just catch up. I love coming here because we can get comfy seats and just relax over a couple of drinks and bar food. BTW great french fries. :)

The slowest service in all of New York City. There were many times I had to stop myself from getting up and get my own beer, or napkins, or anything else the person working there is suppose to do. The place was empty too! It made no sense for service to be as slow as it was. I hate leaving bad reviews, but if I can save at least one person from the experience I had, then I did my job. The food was just ok too. Nothing to brag about. Not worth the price of you ask me. I ordered the Blue Bourbon Burger which consisted of burger, blue cheese, and onions between two buns. No special sauce, nothing extra, just dryness. This place as potential to be great because of the décor and space. Probably just need to be managed better.

We had to leave early due to undercooked chic fingers causing a friends stomach issue. I’m not sure how chicken fingers can be undercooked but ecoli is running wild at this place. The beer was fine. They give you 4 mozz sticks which are not even big. Buffalo wings are terrible. Blue cheese are decent to be honest. Service isn’t bad. I see this place closed in a few months. Get there soon if you’re dying to try it because it’s going out of business fast. Great location. Cannot wait to see what goes in there next.

This is another keeper. I highly value good service, and this place was delightful! Friendly, helpful server — though you also have the option to order at counter. The décor is really cool, very spacious. Loved the music as well. We got the sliders with fries(lunch menu), and it was delicious. You get two sliders on the most adorable brioche buns, and the perfect amount of perfectly crisp fries.

We went there for dinner and drinks but ended up having one of the most unpleasant dining experiences of our lives. First of all, the service was very bad, which was not surprising given that the entire place, which is huge, had only one waiter(who is at the same time the manager. We know because we had a horrible experience that we had to ask for the manager to complain). The burgers were good but overpriced(16 $ and come with no sides). One of the people in our party got his more than five minutes later, and we had to wait until he received his. We ordered fries but had to cancel the order after we waited more than 20 minutes for them and asked the server more than once. My burger had 3 large rosemary stalks that I almost choked on. Even though we received 20% discount after complaining, we ended up paying a large amount of money considering the bad time that we had there.

AVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS. We ordered 4 burgers and received them at separate times. We had also asked for 2 orders of french fries but didn’t receive them. 5 minutes… no fries. 10 minutes… no fries. The waiter largely ignored our table even though or burgers were getting cold while we waited for the fries. After 15 minutes of waiting, I had to go up to the kitchen myself and tell them to please cancel our order. It’s wasn’t busy. If the waiter had forgotten to ring in the order, he could have said so and we would have understood. But it seemed the only reason the fries weren’t out is because«F us» — they weren’t. And that was the waiter’s general attitude toward us throughout the night. The burgers seemed decent until one of us almost choked on a hard piece of wooden material that was apparently on them. We dug up a total 3 sticks among our burgers. It was disgusting and personally, I lost my appetite. I’ve worked in the food industry for over 10 years and I can tell you that many times the customer is wrong. However, this server — his name is Barry — never cared that we didn’t get our fries, never stopped by our table to check up on us even once, and he was completely unapologetic about the foreign material in our food. When we asked for the manager, he said«I’m the manager.» First off, no decent establishment would allow a manager to work as a server because it’s a conflict of interest, as you can see here. Secondly, it was a Saturday night and any business of this size should have more than 1 waiter for the entire floor. There was also no indication that it was a problem of being short-staffed, but rather the case of an unscrupulous and greedy manager taking away one of the more lucrative shifts of the week from his staff so he can pocket the money. He offered to knock 20% off the bill and remove the fries, but it was abundantly clear that this was simply a routine for him — something he just periodically has to do throughout the night for his many dissatisfied customers. He gets to pocket the Saturday night tips of what should be at least 2 servers, so what does he care if 15% of the people dining that night are dissatisfied. At $ 18!!! a burger with an additional $ 6 for a la carte fries, the least you can do for your customers is make sure they get what they ordered, and if it’s not too much trouble — WITHOUTPIECESOFSTICKSINTHEM!!! And if you just can’t do that, at the very least offer a sincere apology. But this place can’t seem to do that — and not just that — they don’t really seem to care. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere and recommend you do the same.

This place has a terrible service. the worst i have ever seen. food is overpriced. i had a burger for $ 16 comes with no fries or salad on the side. it tasted good. we ordered side fries but never got them. we waited half an hour after we got our burgers, we repeatedly asked about the order of fries and got nothing. we ended up cancelling the order. Waiter was rude kept ignoring our table multiple times. one of the burgers had rosemary sticks in it! when we asked to talk to the manager turned out that the waiter is the manager himself!!! he seemed unapologetic and gave us 20% discount after he heard our comments… this was a horrible and a terrible experience.

— Service was very slow and bad, they delivered the wrong burger at first so I had to wait additional time to get me the one I actually ordered. — Waited for the fries forever and they were never served. — The manager/waiter had ignored our table for more than 15 mins. — À la carte menu, so it’s bit expensive given that the burger doesn’t come with fries on the side. — Waiter/manager has a bumptious and irritating attitude. — I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

Empty but still bad service, food was mediocre at best. Sliders were probably the worst I’ve had in comparison to all other in NY. I said no cheese, it came with cheese. Hot dogs, just ok but caramelized onions gross. Brussel sprouts, weird apple thing, again worst I’ve had in comparison. The waitress had an attitude, not very many tables and she was quite absent. We had to call her over 4 times! We were exhausted from trying to get what we needed! They accommodated us to watch the Emmy’s after they first really argued it was football Sunday with zero people in their watching football! Its like why can’t you be interested in accommodating paying customers right off the bat! We convinced them to turn it on, then another hassle again to put on the volume. Viola! all these people came in to watch the Emmys. 1 hour into it — she put football on the sound(one guy watching it) the air was freezing us out. It was a cool night, no need for air conditioning it was horribly uncomfortable. So Frozen, so– so food and bad service. There was a guy waiter was good seemed to be picking up the slack from attitude girl. The big chairs are comfy. It was not worth the hassle, the food nothing great(sliders not good) and the place was pretty empty bad service. Too bad because its really decorated nicely.

I did not like this place, will not be back. The food: very greasy. We got turkey sliders and a burger which we immediately regretted when we first got it. The tots were ok though(even though I would not have ordered them, except the waitress made it seem like they came with the meal!). The service: the waitress was intentionally deceptive. She positioned her questions to make it seem like we got a side with our burgers– which is not the case. She also didn’t check on us once to see the status of our drinks, nor could we find her. If she actually wanted to plump up the check the right way, she would have brought us more drinks! Overall, I would not recommend coming here.

We went to pop burger for a few drinks and snacks after the theater. The milkshakes are amazing! Creamy and delicious. We order pop burgers, mozzerella sticks, fries and mini doughnuts. They were all delicious. The mozzerella sticks are HUGE!, Great atmosphere, comfortable tables and seating and very friendly staff. The music is loud, so if you want a quiet place this may not be for you. Can’t wait to go back!

Some friends and I were wandering up University Place the other night, looking for a place to watch game 1 of the NBA Finals. We were drawn into this place because(a) it wasn’t too packed and(b) there were a bunch of TVs, all showing the game, evenly spaced throughout the bar. We were able to get a nice sized booth(it fit six of us comfortably, easily could have fit two or three more people) and ordered some spicy fries and onion rings for the table. The fries and rings were out within ten minutes, and everybody enjoyed them. There was a solid beer selection as well, with maybe a dozen or so beers on tap. I could see myself spending a lot of time here this summer, especially early in the evening, perhaps playing some foosball. Will be back.

A nice atmosphere. Sometimes rowdy, sometimes nice and tranquil. The problem is everything’s pretty inconsistent: from good lively service to dismissive or rude service, from good fresh food to greasy and sometimes incorrectly made food. The biggest drawback is their prices. Everything is shockingly overpriced, from the beer to the burgers everything’s about 5 – 10 dollars too expensive.

*** Helpful waitress, Cozy environment, Mediocre snacks *** Came here for a quick drink and fries with a friend. I was disappointed by their cheesy fries. The cheese comes in a plastic container that I’m sure was straight out of a can of some sort. The drink was standard, nothing too special. Cozy, large space though.

The décor is classy but the drinks are pricier than other bars in the area. Plus side it keeps out the riff raff, down side is you get less beers for your buck. The TVs are big and the sound system is top of the line, sounds like I’m right at the basketball court for March madness. I have never t yet had the pleasure to eat the food but it looks and smells good. Maybe next time.

Large, dim, rather dark atmosphere. Plenty of seating, the place is spacious, and relaxed. I like the use of wood throughout the place… in the chairs, tables, booths, floors, walls, and throughout. There’s screens all around for watching sports. Chill but with a busy hum. I like it.

I was suggested this place by a friend who goes to school in the area. After a long day at work, I just needed a chill place with good beer and food. So glad I went. The place had a laid-back vibe, dark but cozy. I sat by the bar and was greeted by friendly staff. Bartender recommended the Superman burger. Great choice! I thought I wasn’t that hungry but the burger was so good I finished the whole thing. Would I go again? Yes Staff? Friendly and attentive Thumbs up.

Pop Pub did a fantastic job catering an office event for me on Tuesday. I ordered three different kinds of sliders – hamburger, turkey burger, and vegetarian – in addition to a platter of Caesar salad with grilled chicken, corn on the cob, and French fries. Everything was delicious and the presentation was adorable, from the wooden rods in the corn to the paper boats for serving. The delivery men were helpful in assisting me as I displayed the burgerfest for all to enjoy. And enjoy they did! I had visited Pop@Pod for a happy hour a few weeks ago which I liked, but I was especially impressed with Pop Pub’s work. Pop Pub, you are POPular at my office, and don’t be surprised if I ask you to POP by and bring some more deliciousness.
