Just another adorable store in the vicinity of our favorite spot for great food in the city (Veselka).
The accessories and fashions are trendy and pricey but oh so cute. Thankfully the visiting daughter was understanding of my wallet and decided she did not need anything here… whew.
There are fairly reasonable prices on some of the items, but most are not wallet friendly. Considering the rents in Manhattan, the prices are understandable. A nice place to buy someone a scarf or a pair of gloves as a gift if your visiting the city.

I remember walking by this shop years ago when it opened and doing a double-​take: those giant Bears had mannequin bodies! I never went inside until much more recently, after passing by those bear heads again and getting curious. It’s kinda smart of them to have something so unique in the window.
The style is youthful and feminine, but not immature. I’m really happy to find this shop because it’s hard to find that pastely feminine style without it getting immature and too teenage. The craftsmanship is pretty nice; as a petite person at 5’2″, drapey clothes often swallow me up. Blouses from Pinkyotto drape around my shape and still show some definition. I think the sewing is on par with some of the better items you’d find at FreePeople, but more tailored to petite and short women.
The most important thing you can probably do is have the willpower to wait for sales! The prices are definitely high; this isn’t a place to shop at weekly OR monthly, in my opinion. Seasonally? It can be great during sales. Got a couple work-​appropriate yet feminine blouses for $ 45 each, which is rather typical for that kind of item. Definitely try before you buy, my policy for all clothing anywhere.

T’airah helped me last weekend. I am an older woman and T’airah helped me to feel more glamorous than I was feeling at the time. I love what I bought! She is very gracious, friendly and encouraging, not to mention beautiful and stylish herself!

The clothes there are very well organized by style — adorable and super kawaii, color wise and design wise. For instance, you don’t see the lemon yellow, mint green kind of pastel colors very often in NYC, but they have it.
The color shades are the best part, and the quality of the clothing material is top-​notched.

Overpriced (cannot emphasize that enough) clothing that is manufactured in China for cheap. I had really wanted to like this store but the quality is extremely poor and flimsy and putting a belt on every dress for proper sizing is not my idea of a good retail shop. I think I’ll pass on the «vintage» look and shop at a real second hand shop for some original pieces. And there is NO such thing as an original piece in this store. They always have spares after a piece has been purchased.

Small, cute boutique with very unique clothes, very suitable for Asian physiques. Being skinny and shapeless means that most dresses aren’t very flattering on me, but Pinkyotto suits me very well. The designer was a Taiwanese model who went to Pratt for design and then opened the line in New York. By her choice, the largest size you’ll find at Pinkyotto is medium, but most pieces are only available in XS or S. The employee working when I went is named Kristine, and she was super sweet and friendly without being ingratiating. She had her iPhone on speaker and was singing along to the songs while organizing the clothes. She was a little more involved in my shopping process than I usually prefer, but I’ve experienced much worse. I ended up choosing two dresses and I couldn’t help but splurge on a beautiful lace maxi skirt that Kristine recommended. Definitely be prepared to fork over some money, but I think that the unique designs and good quality are worth it.

I got a leather belt that was strappy and had elastic in it as a gift for Xmas. I finally got around to wearing it in Feb. The leather straps attaching it started breaking! I took it back to return it and had to fight (2 trips back and with my boyfriend who bought it) to even manage to get store credit with the manager Jason (even with the receipt!) because it was not within their return policy. They said it was purchased too long ago. You could clearly see I had not even worn the thing! Beware their store credit only lasts 90 days so I went back 2 times to try to find something else. Their clothing is VERY overpriced for what it is. I couldn’t find anything that was flattering on me (I’m a size 6 and usually don’t have too much trouble finding at least a top, dress or skirt). Finally had 3 days left. Ended up buying a generic black bag — figured I could use it for everyday back and forth to work. It was $ 60 more than my store credit (so $ 138). Within 2 days of using it the studs are now falling off. :(Uggg! So frustrating! I just don’t even want to go back in there. Stuff is poor quality, overpriced and the managers are jerks.

Even though the prices are pretty high, I somehow like this place. I’ve purchased a couple of dresses from here, and the ladies who work here are super friendly and bring you other options to try on while you’re in the dressing room.
Obviously, if you don’t want to shell out the dolla bills, this place isn’t for you. If you’re swimming in dough, vedy cute (and as I recall) one of a kind pieces!

I do not understand why people like this store so much. I think the reason is because they are lied to. The sales person tells everyone that the designer herself only produces one of each piece. Truth is, everything is shipped from China and Hong Kong. The owner just sews on the label herself. Basically, that $ 200 dress you bought from here is only bought for $ 12. There is absolutely nothing wrong with clothes from China and HK as most trends there are way ahead of ours; and the quality can be good and the designs are cute, BUT do NOT tell people you designed them yourself when you did not.
Advice: if you are smart and patient enough to browse through the internet you will find some of those PinkyOtto items on a lot of wholesale sites from Asia.

Love the clothes here — unique, stylish pieces that seem timeless even though they are new. The sizing is vintage which makes it a bit confusing but when you find something that fits it looks stunning. I love the dresses and belts here they are really great, well made gorgeous pieces. The salesperson here is super friendly and helpful also. All in all a great experience.

They have really cute dresses and there is no doubt, but it s very over price. Each dress is almost over 150 or 188 bucks but the quality isnt worthy over 150. I can get some nice and way better quality clothes from anthro or urbanoutfitter sale item and still get 30% off and by famous designer brand. And the staff at store is very annoying and telling me try some clothes that not fit my size and saying it s Good on me… Too pricy for most items there.

What ever you find here, you won’t see on everyone. It a good and bad thing.
Good because there outfits are so cute. I am not a skinny girl size 10 girls, and there are things in here that fit me. The accessories are super cute.
Bad…pricey, for the average Jane like me, a shirt over $ 100 bucks is just quite a lot.
But if you can invest, their clothes last a long time. The girls are always friendly, and they have good sales!

I need to stop shopping. Someone plan an intervention.
I went into this East Village pinkyotto boutique a few nights ago while in the area waiting to meet with a friend. I had already spent a copious amount of time next door at MUSU, which is currently my favorite costume jewelry store in the city (review to come), yet had an additional 45 minutes to kill, so I decided, why not? There was bait plastered on the shiny, clear, storefront window: «Buy 2, get 1 FREE». Perfect; hook, line and sinker.
I love dresses, so let’s feed this addiction.
The store was just about to close. I managed to weasel my way in, but I didn’t feel at all pressed for time. The amazingly friendly shopkeeper kept insisting I take my time since she had a billion of things to tie up before she was able to close for the day. It was great, I was the only soul left in the store and was able to peruse with no interruptions, and with elbow space all to myself.
The narrow interior boasts about 3 long racks of vintage-​style dresses that come in a «one-​size only» variety. Many of the dresses seemed unique I said to the shopkeeper, to which she responded, that the designers for pinkyotto only make a couple of each thing they design, so any purchase is truly a one-​of-​a-​kind piece. She was so easygoing and helpful that I had to tell her how much I love shopping at stores with a touch of humanity, and it makes me want to go back. My confession here is that, I don’t need any more clothes! In fact, my closet is swelling with articles of clothing, accessories, bags and other pointless, frilly things, that there’s really no reason for further indulgence. But, the shop girl had mentioned that she wanted to permanently move from Boston to New York, and depending on how she does her job, that will help increase her chances of relocating. Suddenly, I felt this civic duty to help out a fellow nice person. So I grabbed 3 dresses and quickly tried them on in that tiny little nook of a dressing room. I was 1 for 3. But that one dress I ended up falling in love with, managed to stir this idea of nostalgia within me. It’s boatneck and beige-​colored body with a colorful, summery, floral print, was so reminiscent of my mom’s silky vintage attire from the back in the 1970s. Mom still has a drawer full of dresses from that era but I always refuse to wear any of them because they just feel too old and a bit frumpy, the colors have dulled a bit. This gorgeous pinkyotto dress was unlike that feeling. It was vintage but fresh and fun.
But to be honest though, I was still a bit on the fence, even with a 30% discount, the dress was still pricey, but the girl suggested I throw on a belt and that made an enormous difference. Also, a passerby swung in just to tell her how much she had to come back with her daughter because she loved all the dresses she eyed strolling around the hood. And after she saw me in the dress, she said I needed to get it because it was so lovely. So that sealed its fate. I ended up buying it — on sale — with the matching belt and necklace for the «dirt-​cheap» price of $ 170. I immediately wanted to kick myself for these lavishly obscene purchases, but alas, I left the store with a bag full of unnecessary objects.
Not every thing fits well, it’s either a bit short, tight, or big? And it’s not cheap either. This is no Forever21 or H&M. Knowing this, I will be sure never to give into a whim like that again, but I think the experience of shopping in this cute boutique and interacting with such a welcoming and pleasant sales person, made me not hate myself too much for it. It was also kind of awesome knowing that a) only one or two other girls in New York will have this same dress (but maybe in a different color) and b) I have the perfect shoes to match!

They always have unique pieces. Tons of florals. Great jewelry and accessories. It’s affordable although some of the items do seem over priced for what they are i.e. tshirt dress, slip dress etc. I usually still purchase stuff though and tell myself it’s a unique so it’s worth it.

Okay, this place used to be my little secret but now that I see all the good reviews, I need to join in on the praise. The best thing about pinkyotto to me is that they design everything themselves so even though they make a quantity of each piece, you still feel like you are getting a one of a kind.
If you shop here often enough, you get mailed benefits and emails with great discounts. I just got a 20% of my next purchase. Not to mention twice a year they have a blow out sale where things are up to 75% off. Each location sells the same things but has its own unique experience. My favorite would have to be the brooklyn store since it is the relaxing and the biggest. But since I live in manhattan if I am doing a quick drop by I usually end up in the nolita store.
Ming is my favorite employee there (works at all 3). She really knows the pieces in the store and will guide you through all the cluttered racks. Even though some things might seem over priced, if you dig… you will find something for under $ 100. I am a petite person and don’t be discouraged if the one size is too big for you. Keep looking and you will find something perfect for your body shape.

I was enjoying a hot chocolate infused stroll when I happened upon Pinkyotto for the first time. I browsed… and was impressed. But I didn’t buy anything because it’s pricey.
But I just couldn’t get that place out of my mind. The store is so cute: clean, open, and TINY. But the selection is amazing and the dresses tasteful, yet playful and pretty with a little edge (I agree — very Anthropologie). The selection leans «summer daytime» (think ruffles, pale shades, flirty patterns, breezy/​light material)…but there are exceptions!
I ended up coming back here to buy a birthday party dress. I tried on about 6 dresses and loved at least 3. The girl working there was really sweet and agreed to hold THE dress for me while I wandered around for a couple hours to make my decision. I scurried back within 30 minutes to claim my dress, though! :)

Whom ever is the buyer for this selection is amazing because the racks are filled with gorgeous dresses. Sometimes when you look through racks of clothes you just flip quickly through the hangers and you might be able to find two or three things that are fabulous and I thought that from the size of this place we’d only be here for 15 mins. I was wrong.
The selection is huge because most of the dresses are one size that fit most, not all IMO, and there are few duplicates. So when you look through the racks you’re constantly pulling things out and saying: «OMG this is so cute! Eeekkkk! No this is cuter! Argh, I can’t decide». It is a bit pricey for some people, but for the quality and cut of these unique pieces make it worth every penny.
I love this store and I hate that its so far away.

I’m so very used to wandering into cute boutiques, running my hands through some garments, peeking sneakily at the price tags, saying «thank you» under my breath, and wandering right back out. Which is why I decided to wander into Pinkyotto at 11:45 AM on a Sunday morning to kill a few minutes before my date with the nearest frozen yogurt dealer opening at noon. It ended up being a longer and more expensive detour than I’d bargained for.
The space is pretty little, with racks of clothing lining the walls on either side and a cash register and a couple dressing booths in back. The selection, therefore, is deceptively wide! Only one piece of each style hangs on display at any given time, making for some choice browsing. The styles tend on the girly side, and some of the pieces start to blend together, but there is enough variation to keep things interesting. Fabrics are quality, prints well-​executed, fits forgiving and flattering. I walked away with two dresses and a kick-​ass boyfriend blazer. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of merchandise. The blazer was the most expensive item I contemplated, and at just over $ 200 it looked better than items three times that price. It is now one of my favorite items in my closet and I wear it with shameless frequency.
The customer service is golden. There was only one girl working when I went in, and she was super sweet and helpful. She let me browse in peace for a while, but as the number of items I found worth trying on increased, she took them to the room and, with a masterful touch that was, amazingly, neither annoying nor intrusive, suggested other items that I might like. When I checked out, I asked if I could get any sort of discount if I bought all three items (hey, never hurts to ask) and she knocked off 10%. She took down my information for future promotions, etc. and I’m happy she did. A week later, I got a hand-​written thank you card in the mail. She must’ve written it as soon as I’d left because she even talked about the pieces I got. Really a lovely personal touch. Also lovely was the voucher sent with the card offering $ 50 off my next $ 300 purchase. I can see Pinkyotto sending me to the poorhouse on a path paved with ruffles and floral silks. Goodness knows I’ll be rushing to use that voucher on my next trip to New York.

This lovely, unique boutique immediately caught my eye, or rather, the vivid red purse in the window did. Entranced, I ran into examine it further. I own only one purse that I myself bought (for $ 1), so since moving to the city and developing a taste for fashion, I’ve been on the look out for a good purse. This one was perfect — bright colour, soft but durable leather, simple but with small, stylish details (like a leather accent on the magnetic metal closure), and both a chain strap and a long adjustable leather strap.
Since everything in PO’s stores is unique, I also am the only person to own this particular purse (although they did have one in black, which was not nearly as exciting), an appealing idea which made up for the rather steep price tag (nearly $ 350 after tax). Still, for my first purse, which being mid-​sized is large enough to hold a book and a drink, but not so large as to be hobo-​esque, I think I made out pretty well.
I love the fact that it has two straps, the longer of which can go diagonally across my body for convenience, a stylish magnetic clasp for the fold-​over portion, a zipper inside for extra protection, and an assortment of internal pockets. The hardware is a very pale gold tone that hovers between stainless steel and yellow gold, and should be thus very versatile with whatever I’m wearing.
I nearly bought a few of their belts, too, though those seemed a bit too pricey for me ($ 50ish), but they were lovely soft leather, matte, and narrow in the bright jewel-​tones I’m so fond of. Their clothing is feminine and eye-​catching, again being all unique and essentially handmade, but a little too bohemian for my personal style. I agree with the Anthropologie resemblance, but I’m more classically inclined when it comes to clothes.
The service was attentive but not pushy; I was allowed to scrutinize the purse and try it on, adjust the straps, etc. The saleswoman, who happened to be the manager, actually pointed out some details I might have initially missed, and was happy to discuss the pros and cons of the unique shade of metal hardware. After a few minutes, I was sold — where else would I find a bag just like this? no where! — and the manager lovingly wrapped my purse in violet tissue paper and placed it in a fuschia shopping bag. I virtually skipped my way home.
