M Sonii

LOVE this store (and note that they recently moved down a block, between Avenue A and 1^st Avenue). This place always has the BEST dresses and accessories, and the sisters who own this place are always so nice and so wonderful to talk to. They have fabulous taste, too! The other day, I was running by, just to check out the new space, and I just thought I was going to pop in fast. Well, I walked out of there with the most gorgeous fascinators/​hair accessories I had ever seen, AND a killer pair of two-​toned sunglasses, too. There were also two dresses that I loved, but they were sold out in my size, darn it! I’m so glad this place can stay in the neighborhood, they always have things that I have never seen anywhere else, and they are a great local business. Can’t say enough about this place, it is FAB!

Discovered this place while I was shopping in East Village. I would say overall their style was just A-​OK to me. I didn’t find much things I like but I have to say they do have decent stuff. probably it’s not my style.
Friend of mine find a nice pair of sunglasses with a reasonable price. Then clothing is really depends on the person. I would still recommend people to stop by if you ever in the area.

my girlfriend and i stopped by this place after dinner at Yakiniku West and we came out happy campers.
i was told about this place from my coworker — who shops here regularly. she was totally right! this place has cute dresses — prices vary from over $ 100 to under $ 50 depending on styles and many of their stuff are from various independent designers in LA and NY. my girlfriend nearly bought the whole store, i had to restrain myself from doing so as well, along with buying this cute black fedora for over $ 100.
i walked out with a cute jersey dress in the season’s hottest colour combos — black, white & yellow. yay!

This place ROCKS. My husband and I walked by one night on the way to dinner and he saw a periwinkle cashmere hat that he loved, so he bought it for me. While he was making the purchase, I had a chance to sniff around… GREAT selection! Seemed like they would be a great spot for interesting hats and maybe «that dress», when you don’t know where else to look…

Along 9^th Street there are tons of «vintage» joints. Among them, M Sonii is a magical establishment that claims no such lofty title. And yet it is far superior.
Tenderly stepping our way down this street, my friend and I were reminded of our humble condition, nay, the insanity of the cosmos. Demand is not high for particular vintage finds, but the income idiocy or whim of customers who shell out a couple hundred dollars for pieces from as recent as the 90s is. And, yeah, it’s cool stuff. It’s a little tacky, loud, but somehow Great.
Whatever, people. You spend your ridiculous dollars. Meanwhile down the street I will be checking out the racks at M Sonii, where new arrivals of prints, styles, and HATS show up almost every other day. HATS are exciting. The prices are still on the upper-​middle-​class level to attract the snobs. And if one size doesn’t fit, because it’s not vintage, there’s still a chance you won’t have to be ripped violently from the dress of your dreams: there are probably two more in different sizes waiting patiently to be discovered.
The service here is great. Small business with two rooms, very nice women who help with sizes and even style if you choose to ask.
