I gotta say, Next Level totally exceeded my expectations.
I’m one of those types who’s been paying for $ 80 haircuts without batting a lash. I suppose it’s the «you get what you pay for» mentality of paying more for something of quality. Especially something as important as your appearance. But in between meetings and unsure of when I’d be able to see my usual stylist before the holidays, I took a chance on Next Level. I’m very glad I did.
Ariel was the barber who took the reigns. I told him what I wanted, and in breakneck speed he was off to the races. At this point I was fully committed no matter the outcome. Lucky for me it was as good, if not better, than the haircuts I usually pay 200% more cash for. And that figure isn’t an embellishment, Next Level cuts are just $ 22. After this experience, I may have to reevaluate what a great haircut should actually cost.

Joe is the man! The most consistent cut I’ve gotten anywhere in Downtown Manhattan. Referred a friend to this shop and he gets great cuts from Joe as well. He super good on a variety of hair types as I am African American and my friend is Asian American. High quality cuts for a reasonable price! Also super quick!!!

Loved the haircut I got here. Great atmosphere in the shop. The barbers are professional, friendly, accommodating, and most importantly do a great job. This is — without a doubt — the best haircut I’ve ever gotten my life. I’m not just stating my own opinion — since stepping out of Next Level, I’ve basically been flooded by unsolicited compliments from friends, family, and workmates + constant female attention. No joke. Prior to this, I would throw down $ 70 – 80 a pop to have a «hair salon» professional mangle my ish into something that was usually Not Quite Right. In contrast, Joe immediately spoke my language and hooked up exactly what I was asking for. Not only did he do it for a «barbershop price» (~$ 20) but also whipped it up in about 15 minutes. He is a True Professional who clearly has honed his craft to a level of mastery that is rare in any profession. He is also wordly, charismatic, and personable. Next Level is MY new barbershop.

If I could describe Next Level Barbershop in 3 letters — «Joe.»
Barbershops in this city come a dime a dozen; but, what separates each one from the next is the level of expertise, the customer service, convenience, and the overall experience of the shop. This place provides all 4. Joe is skilled at his craft and you even have a movie playing right in front of you as you get cut.
I am also a fan of barbers that take their time when cutting. I like to know that when I’m in the chair all attention is on getting my hair the way I like — not just cutting it shorter and moving on to the next guy sitting down. Joe is polite and listens to what you want. Not only a good business man, but just an overall good guy.
I live in Fidi and Next Level Barbershop is conveniently right off the 6 train. For all those that live in the area, or pass by on their daily commute, like me, I suggest you step in for a good hair cut.

Took my bf there and they cut off a piece of his ear!!!
The hair cut of okay but it’s not worth his ear!
We walked in and asked to get a hair cut, the young guy cut my bf’s hair and I think he was new. I get that rookies make mistake, but still… If you go, don’t use the apprentice.

Definitely a great barber in the city. The shop is very clean and quite modern with it’s interior, which makes for a comfortable visit. I walked in 10 minutes to close and they were very welcoming and began my haircut within 10 minutes of my arrival.
I believe Jon cut my hair, he was a very cool guy who can hold a friendly conversation. His work was very good, he cuts exactly how you want and can do a high fade no problem. The best part about it, he works quickly but doesn’t compromise your haircut.
If you need a hair cut that is quick, perfect, and easy, come here!

Awesome Barber Shop!
Had a cut today with Joe who gave me a detailed, clean, and efficient cut. I was in and out in about 30 minutes, taking into account me lingering a bit after my cut to buy some hair product.

I walked in and the place was empty except for a single barber eating his lunch. The service was friendly. Although there was a bit of language barrier, I got exactly what I wanted. After a methodically session with the buzzer and clippers, he used warm shaving cream and a straight razor to touch up around the ears and the back. Then he rubbed down my head with a warm towel. A little gel and style and I was out of the door with a $ 22 haircut.
