Came here for Halloween. Possibly the TRASHIEST gay bar in NYC. The drinks were over priced & they tasted like water. The crowd was awful; naked girls with their boobs hanging out. I’ve never seen so many boobs in my whole life. If you’re looking for a nice, sophisticated, fun, &CLEAN crowd… Don’t come here. It was the worst.

Ya know, it all starts with a good staff. They door guy was super rude and«snappy» which completely ruined my experience from then on. I would go again only if it were an event for a friend, otherwise no more for me. It was a nice looking space though.

Looove it! Reasonably priced drinks with a kick. Great dj! Fun atmosphere. Nice staff. I’ve been there twice, Thursday and Friday I got in for free before 12. It can get extended to 12:30 with text.

I really like this place. When I have friends coming from Korea, Japan, or very new to New York. This spot is where I take them first. Often a culture shock place and fun for me. I like it that my younger friends could enter this place and have fun… This might not be the best club but to me it’s a very special space where I can breathe, dance, and have fun. I recommend you go in groups if you are going to Esco. Halftime they place spanish and the other familiar American songs. I love the mix it’s sexy… Usually, their drinks are cheap before midnight. The water bottle is a nahnah. but it’s a business so I don’t have problem with it. To enter is easy. YOu can either text or sign up at eventbrite. If you really want to go in for free, please be the first one on line at least…10 sharp would do. I actually went there around 11:00 and had to pay but hei it’s not their fault Im late. If u going party with young ones, always keep in mind that they cost $ 20.lol. worth it though… Peace yall

Scam! Text for free entry before midnight? Okay, well we stood in line at 11:15(since doors open at 11) and the line didn’t move until 11:45. We finally made it to enter and it was 12:03. They were telling everyone to pay $ 20 cover. Scam! Who would pay that for a ghetto, dirty basement party with an hour wait? Don’t waste your time or money.

Dissapointment!!! Look elsewhere to party if you’re out of state and looking for a place to party. It was a waste of money! Get ready to pay up!!! Definitely not recommend going here on a Friday night. Had we known we wouldve nvr.

Escuelita will always have a special place to me. My very first meet and greet/autograph signing with my fans. The crowd was so nice and sexy. The manager was professional and did everything he said he would.

Granted: La Escuelita tends toward that old-school Times Square model: Bag checks and prices SUBJECT to CHANGEWITHOUTNOTICE aren’t uncommon… but do you really want such petty complaints over lack of oversight to interfere w/your experiencing the most talented and psychotic DJs you’ve ever experienced? And, by the way: there is no ‘ID check’ obstructing dance-floor access… what club would do that? cheers, DJSAVAGENYC

I am a straight female, I went here Tuesday for the vogue night I can honestly say It was 6 $ well spent this club has a great vibe It is mostly what they call beginners dancing but it is great it was like a whole new world of dance and they are very friendly here the only con is that it is a predominantly male gay club the drinks are extremely weak sauce! Fun Fact: there are many«straight men» who club here lol(homo-thugs) they have a website in which you can get discounted admission or some nights are free it’s a cute club. they have a bathroom attendant who keeps the bathroom in order

Very ghetto crowd. I saw a lot of body parts on women exposed that made me question whether I liked vagina at all anymore. I do, but it was a sad ten minutes. It can get crowded, it can get loud. The bathrooms are horrendous and water is overpriced. The music sucks, and maybe this place just isn’t my cup of tea. All class was left at the door.

I wish I could come here again but sadly, I’ve had my bag stolen here and other people I know have had their phones/jackets or purses stolen. I loved going to vogue night. such a shame.

Would rather then go back hear again, not to make this a flare statement or anything it just that it is plain terrible. Went for gay pride when they had latrice and chad(which was the only reason stayed the whole to see them) but anyways let’s start off with begin why I’m don’t like this place. First it was false advertising they said that people who bought tickets in advance would get in first though they we’re gonna let the people who brought the the tickets at door first. Then when i gave them my ticket they wanted to charge anther time which was $ 30 dollars and was trying tell the person that i already paid he told me to chill. Then the last thing that kinda ticked me off was if you wanted to sit you had to resevere the table. Tbh the only good about my night was seeing Chi Chi larue, Chad michaels and Latrice. So in the end i will not be gonig back to escuelita

False advertisements — in so many ways. Says $ 5 all night? Means $ 5 whenever they want. They«announce» when the special is going on. Free before midnight on the flyer? Only with text. This place is disgusting.

No cover before 12IF you text some number? BULLSHIT! That was NOT online! I’m not paying cover when my friend and I will be here less than 2 hours. NEXT! I had more fun talking to her on the steps of Port Authority!!!

Before coming out(to friends) i never went to any clubs(gay or straight) and was more of a house and hotel party kinda guy. On my 24th birthday i was out with friends in NYC and was introduced to this club which is also known as Escos. Upon arrival you walk up to male bouncers(female bouncers on certain nights) who search you and checks your ID which is standard. When you get to the cashier your asked to show ur ID(18 to party 21 to drink) and asked if u have a text message. Showing this text and depending on the time will get you free or reduced entry(check website to join list), If ur 21+ you’d generally pay $ 10 or $ 20. Every night is different. 1. Music. they play all the hottest hip hop, R&B, reggae, and reggaeton. And its mixed very well… definitely will keep you dancing all night. 2. Drinks are reasonably priced and not watered down(a tip goes along way). To me at least. i dont mind paying $ 10+ for a drink.(i pregame 85% of the time anyway) And there are drinks specials and open bar on certain nights. 3. The Go-go dancers are MUSCULARANDHOT!!! Im not one for those skinny i need a sandwich gogo boys and this club DOESNOT have those. And the female dancers are sexy too!!! 4. Bathrooms are clean. and on your way out you greeted by a nice lady who gives u a tissue and candy(if u tip). Shout out to Jeffrey watchman hottest bartender in NYC. 9÷1÷2013: I’ve edited this review and changed a number of my points because I no longer frequent this club and things have changed. 12/20/2014: came here night before thanksgiving and time or two after. I was reminded why I love this place. This place is LEGENDARY always will be. SHOUTOUTTOLOUIE G ANDALLTHESTAFF.

Aka Escos! I went here for the first time, as a straight latina, I was worried the reviews below about how ghetto it is, and how bad it is would come true, but it wasn’t bad. Sure, $ 20 cover charge is a lot, but if you’re looking for a fun time not having to worry about people grinding on you randomly, this is the place to be! I was dancing with my friend’s all night and it was great, the music was on point. And yes there are young people there(18 – 19 yrs old.) but I’m currently 20, trying to find fun parties before I hit up the 21+ scene in November. I recommend this place to dance, have a great time, and no worries if ur straight. It’s not bad at all! Loves it.

This place is young! I mean really young! Young like fake ID young… lol I went here with my GF and had a terrible time. Bathrooms are gross and the crowd is getto… Sighing. =( I did see a cool drag show here though that was the only fun part of the night. Needs major improvement =/

We as local people call it Escos. when i first started going there, it was amazing. Angela Carrera, Lorena St. Cartier, Victoria Lace, Erica Norell, Jasmine International, Harmonica Sunbeam those were all great drag queens that were performing there. always different and always exciting. i feel like drag queens now are just doing it for money and cause they think it’s cool. drinks have gotten expensive. bartenders and security are cool. it’s really young, sometimes ghetto because of the fights. it has gotten cheaper on cover charges.

UH! Okay. I always say I’m not going back to a place, but I always end up going back, so I think I’ll stop saying that from this point on. My friends and I were crazy enough to go clubbing during the recent snowstorm. The club was empty. But it was different — the music was great, we had enough space to dance around, and the bartender was really friendly. He even reduced the price of my drink, which I spilled right as I was going to start drinking it, and then he gave me another one! He was so nice. Actually, I’m glad I went clubbing during a snowstorm. I think all the NYC divas stood home that night cause they were afraid of the cold. Only the people who really wanted to have a good time and dance were out(I mean of course, if you go out clubbing during a snow storm you better damn well force yourself to have a good time!) Also, if you sign up on the Escos website you get texts that give you free admission. They also have $ 1 long islands before 11.
