Morgenstern Eric, MD

I found Dr. Morgenstern to be a very caring physician. Ran into a horrible situation and he met me at Lenox Hill and worked with the head of the gastro unit to fix the issue. Great follow-​up and I will definitely go back for my regularly scheduled colonoscopy and endoscopy. He treated me like I mattered and took the time to explain things. I am only writing this now because I was checking to see if he took my new insurance.

I’ve been to different GIs for years, all over the U.S. Dr. Morgenstern was AMAZING. The whole experience started with me calling to make an appointment and talking to a receptionist who was very polite, patient and friendly. Then for my appointment, Dr. Morgenstern took the time to really get to know and understand my symptoms and my concerns. I can tell you from experience that not all doctors do that. He immediately performed a few tests on me and made sure to be gentle and keep me informed throughout the process. He asked me several times if he had missed something or if there was anything I wanted to mention. I was caught off guard because I am used to doctors rushing me, interrupting, or just listing exams I need.
Then, he sat me down and gave me an overview of potential disorders in terms I could understand and continued to explain what he was thinking I might have and what we would do about it. Finally, he let me know that I could call him directly whenever I needed. I was so impressed that I let him know that this was the best experience I’d had seeing a doctor and he was humble enough to say that he didn’t do anything and that we would get to the bottom of my problem. It’s been a week and with the treatment he gave me, I am already feeling better after suffering for almost 15 years!

Ok so if you have to get a colonoscopy this is as good as it gets. Dr. Morgenstern is really a VERY good, attentive doctor who is thorough and wants to understand what the problem is. He is not the sort of doctor who just hands you a prescription and hopes for the best. His staff is as sweet natured as he is and they make the entire process as good as it CAN be. The poor front desk lady doesn’t even eat her lunch if someone who is having a procedure is sitting in front of her and she was so kind to make sure my man got orange juice for his blood sugar.
These folks are good people and I am very grateful for Dr. Morgenstern for taking such good care of my boyfriend.
