No other«Irish pub» in Manhattan has as many great qualities as Molloy’s. Fantastic service and great standard pub food as well as many Irish dishes(done right!) plus a great selection whiskeys, ciders, and beers(heck even the wine list is decent for this kind of place). Good drink specials, plus a really fun, low key(and free!) karaōke on Friday & Saturday nights. Lots of TVs showing everything from hockey to rugby to college football. Bathrooms could be better but I’d give them«B» at worst. Great classic music from 1970s-2010s, but the place is usually conversation friendly all night. Lots of tables but easy to get drinks at the bar if you’re hanging out. All this and it’s still an EXTREMELY affordable place no matter what your budget it. I cannot recommend it higher.

Great place, found it by accident. Irish bartender was an added treat. Menu is extensive & quite a few Irish selections. Shepherds pie was very good, portions were large! More of an authentic neighborhood Irish Pub. Enjoyed! Thank you Molloy’s!

The bartender is way more interested in talking than actually working. 20 minutes with empty glasses and there are 4 other customers at the bar. Way better places to try.

Good food and nice atmosphere but the drinks were watered down. If you can see through the black russian, that’s not made right.

Great food, great prices, and even better service. Try the Irish Sausage and the Irish BLT. Niall is a great bartender!

Pubs are noisy, that’s fine, but people at this place were screaming so loud and music was blasting, making it impossible to have a conversation. My girlfriend had Mac & Cheese that was basically Kraft Dinner with loads of Tabasco sauce. My ginger ale came flat and at room temperature. Fish and chips were good, but took over forty minutes to come. The waiter was very nice.

Came here for drinks with friends after work and it wasn’t crowded at all. Our server wasn’t great. When I got there, I said I was waiting for my friends and he didn’t even give me a menu. Once they arrived, we had to ask him for menus. He seemed annoyed we weren’t all there at the same time and needed time to look over the menu. They have a happy hour menu with a few drinks listed but there’s also a 2-for-1 special for ladies on Wednesdays which is for anything you order. I got a drink that wasn’t on the happy hour menu figuring it was 2-for-1 since I’m a girl and it was Wednesday. When he brought the drinks, he screwed up the order and gave me someone else’s drink. I wasn’t going to say anything because he was already annoyed but then a few minutes later he realized his mistake and came back to give me the right drink. The drink wasn’t even strong but I thought I’d have another to see if it was a fluke. Nope. Also not strong. Then when he brought the bill, I noticed he charged me $ 20($ 10 per drink). Ummm, what about 2-for-1? I was telling my friends(a bit loudly) how that was wrong and he was on break a few tables down just listening to me and smiling like this was hilarious. We saw him and asked him to come over. I said«isn’t it 2-for-1?» And he’s like«oh yeah. Sorry, I’ll fix it.» He did, I paid the bill and left. If I hadn’t said anything though he wouldn’t have done anything. I don’t remember if I gave a good tip or not. Either way, both drinks were not even worth $ 10. All in all, it’s a decent place to hang out to talk to people since it’s not loud but if you’re looking for a good drink or good service, go somewhere else.

My «go-to» bar in NYC, and a great place to find the Craic. I found this amazing place 2 weeks after moving to NYC and I’m so happy I did. It’s genuine. It’s not pretentious, it’s not touristy, it’s not over-priced, it’s just great. I stumbled across this place solely by accident, I had been walking home and noticed the lights set up in the front windows. I figured I’d stop by for a quick night cap. I’m really glad I did. No matter what night I went, the bartenders, and the owners were so hospitable and the service was amazing. In a very very bizarre way, it made me homesick for Texas. It just had that down to earth, instantly feel at home quality. The drinks are very reasonably priced for being in Hell’s Kitchen and the apps(not that I ever ate here often) taste amazing. You can belly up to the bar or continue towards the back to where it opens up into a game room. I know absolutely NOTHING about soccer, but I still found myself cheering every time I heard the screams from the back room. I miss this place, a lot. I can’t wait for a quick weekend back to the city to head back to Molloy’s.

First, the Irish waitress was so nice to us when we got here! Then we sat and ordered some $ 5 beer drafts and also $ 5 drinks, that was awesome! After that some food! Great curry fries! And they have a very nice $ 25 combo of apetizers! Just come, you won’t regret it!

Straight from Ireland… you will feel like u are in the mother country! Our bar maid, Aoife, has only been stateside for 2 weeks! She poured some great spirits and was cool to hangout with! We Californians even challenged her to make margaritas and they were great. Of course you can get a great pint here too!

Decent irish pub, the Guinness was quite tinny indicating unclean lines or glasses. Stopped by for a late night drink. The prices are very good, and the staff was attentive. No reason to go out of my way here, but also an okay spot.

I was not that familiar with the Hell’s Kitchen area as I don’t frequent NYC. My friend and I were heading to Yankee stadium to watch a bowl game and had some time to kill. The ratings were good for Molloy’s so we decided to stop in. This place was perfect for me in that, the day we were there, it was a little lower key and not loud or crowded. The bartender(owner I believe) was very personable does a great balancing act of allowing privacy of conversation and interjecting stories in the right timing. I had a burger that was very good for bar food. Everything was well priced. If I was in NYC more often, I would be visiting here and I will definitely come back when I return!

This place is a gem! I feel bad writing about it because I don’t want it to get more popular! $ 5.00 beers and mixed well drinks. Can’t get better than that. And it’s not $ 5.00 between certain hours-it’s $ 5.00 all the time! The only not so great part is that on a Friday night starting at 11pm, there’s karaōke. So if you’re looking for a late night place to drink and relax this is not the place. Before that, take advantage of this quaint bar and enjoy! Conclusion: YAY! This is our new go to place to go to after dinner.

I only give 5 star reviews when a place is excellent at what they do. Molloy’s is exactly that. They’re not a swanky, hipster, overpriced bar because they’re not trying to be. If you’re looking for a clean, friendly, affordable, neighborhood pub where you’re treated like a VIP every time, then Molloy’s is your spot. All drafts $ 5 and good basic Irish pub food.

This is an adorable little Irish pub. Came here for St. Patrick’s day searching for a Guinness with a decent pour. We came mid-day since we knew that the place would be filled to the brim after the parade. Our waitress said something was wrong with their kitchen so no food was being served for another couple of hours. No biggie. A pint of Guinness is a meal in itself right? I was under the assumption that all drafts were $ 5, but to my surprise they amped up the price to $ 9 per pint for the holiday. I understand they need to cash in on the fact that it’s St. Patrick’s day, but wow what a jump.(It would be nice if they advertised it). Anyway, it was good service, a fun atmosphere and a solid poured pint.

Cute little tiny pub! We went here for NYE and the staff was pretty friendly. The drinks were pretty good, and the prices are very reasonable! $ 5 for draft beers and $ 8 for a cranberry vodka, my go to. The bartender was very nice and he even gave me a glass of champagne to toast the new year. My only problem is that its a bit smaller than most bars, so its a squeeze if its busy that day. But other than that, its worth the trip over!

A run of the mill Irish pub in Hell’s Kitchen. Straight forward — Irish beers, bar food, simple pub décor. They have all day drafts for $ 5, and Smithwicks to boot. A plate of jumbo buffalo wings($ 10) and I was a happy camper. Service is excellent — bartender lady was friendly and easy to talk to. The food came out quickly, piping hot. Nothing more to say here, a good throwback bar option for the area. Every neighborhood needs one.

Molloy’s Irish Pub NY: Manhattan: Hell’s Kitchen 11pm Saturday 20th September 2014 Four Stars Stopped in for a couple drinks at this irish pub. Sang a bit of drunken karaōke. There is not a stage so you stand by the front and belt your little heart out. I sang Garth Brooks’s Friends in Low Places. You cannot hear yourself so I hope I was fine. Not a bad place to finish off a night.

Small pub at 9th near 50th. Excellent drink specials; good for a pint after work or drinks into the evening. The guys behind us even set up beer pong for the Friday night activity. Very chill. Good size tvs for watching games. Good service too. Went with a groupon — food is eh: For the fish and chips entrée, the 2 large and hard to manage beer-battered fish filets had hard, slightly burnt, outer crust(not seasoned), and the fries were soggy. Fish tasted very«fishy» — not at all like it should be — but the tartar sauce masked it, making it alright. Three-cheese burger was ok, but the overly puffy bun was too large for the amount of meat in the patty. It also was topped with a sorry piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato that should’ve been used yesterday… Overall, go for beer and liquor, maybe pub grub, not an ideal dinner destination.
