MINI of Manhattan

Wonderful buying experience. Sasha was our sales rep (ask for him specifically) and went out of his way to explain options around the vehicle and financing choices. The selling environment was extremely low pressure and transparency around our expectations and the reality of what was in our range was made very clear. Needless to say, the car is great and we look forward to coming back again for our next purchase.

I just bought my first Mini convertible. I’d been looking at several cars; I’d driven Mini’s before, but wanted to make sure I picked the right car as I’m about to embark on a cross-​country drive.
Mini of Manhattan was my first stop, and quickly met Sasha. I immediately knew I was in good hands. He spent an hour with me going through different models to make sure I felt comfortable. He is honest, straightforward, unbelievably personable, and definitely has the client’s best interest at heart.
I left, and the checked out other dealers to continue my research, and didn’t find another car that inspired me. But also, I didn’t meet another dealer that I connected or trusted as much as Sasha.
A week later, I returned to test drive 2 models. Sasha spent 2 hours with me on a Saturday morning. 2 hours!!!
This morning, I returned and closed the deal. You hear horror stories about the negotiations and haggling. This was not the case. Again, Sasha was very straight forward and talked me through every step, all the while exchanging stories, laughing, and having a genuinely great time.
The entire process couldn’t be smoother. Fantastic experience.
I highly recommend anyone in the market for a Mini, stop by and specifically ask to work with Sasha; you will not be disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience buying my MINI from MINI of Manhattan. I had reservations which turned out to be silly thinking that everything in Manhattan is going to be more expensive. I’m so glad that I gave them a chance because I was completely wrong. They are actually a corporate store, translation, no obnoxious mega dealership sales tactics. They will just give it to you straight. Much like BMW, they are in it for the long haul. They want to make you happy and keep you happy with their products and service.
I was very impressed with David Lata. He’s charming and full of energy. He is passionate about the product and it’s infectious. The fact that a MINI can be customized a million ways can be overwhelming but working with someone who has owned a few of them is such a big help. He cared about getting me what I wanted NOT selling you the most expensive car which was how I was treated elsewhere. It only took one visit for me to settle on a car and within a week or so I drove it home.
During my visit I also met the manager Catherine, she was very polite and shook my hand. I thought, that’s nice but that’s what they all do right? It’s just good PR. Let me tell you when I came in to pick up my car, totally different story. I had an issue with my BMW lease end statement. Catherine jumped right into action and resolved the issue. I can’t tell you how impressed I was with this gesture. My overall experience exceeded my expectations to say the least and I am obsessed with my new MINI.
If you are interested in a MINI, this is truly the ideal place to go.

I know there are a few negative reviews here, but I had a very different service experience with Bradley Johnson. He communicated services to me clearly and thoroughly. His communications about the work being done on my vehicle were timely and professional through email and phone. The other staff members were friendly and welcoming.
I plan to continue servicing my vehicle at mini of Manhattan, as I feel comfortable having mini maintenance provided by mini brand experts.

Loved working with Sasha at this dealership — he was honest, straightforward and dissected all the options for me effectively. He gave great test drives, and helped me make my choice to be part of the MINI family! I love my car! And my first service appointment went fantastic — they took care of everything quickly, and even washed my car without me asking.

After briefly connecting with a «reservationist» to make a service appointment, I dropped my car off in the evening in preparation for my 9am appointment the next day. I told the reservationist that I hadn’t had my car serviced in the year that I owned it, but given that she was simply a reservationist, I didn’t get into any specifics about the car’s performance. However, an entire day has gone by where I left a VM for the service director with more details about the car and called again to ask what diagnostics had been done, and the receptionist said she would email the service director, and still nothing. I’m a former FJ Cruiser owner and Toyota NEVER treated customers this way.

I just bought a new Mini Cooper S from them yesterday. Sasha Lezhen who sold me the car made the experience a pleasure. I trusted him immediately and felt that I had known him all my life.

I have a 2002 Mini Cooper that did not come with any programmed keys when I bought it from a private dealer. I bought new keys from a distributor in Canada who assured me they could be programmed by the dealer. So I dropped off my car to this dealer in early November. It’s now the first week in December and I just got the car back.
After one person went on vacation, someone else intervened in an email conversation. Then SHE disappeared. I called to speak to the manager who was going to try to figure out what was going on, and had to reach him via email. I finally heard from him that the keys could not be programmed, and I couldn’t use the keys I bought (now going on 3 weeks). I had to buy a new key for over $ 200 (not surprised), but when the car was brought down, the lock actuator on the door didn’t work, but no one thought to mention that to me and save me a trip to their shop in no man’s land. I was told that they did their job by programming the key — not fixing the lock! But no one told me it was broken!
They gave me a price on a new actuator for over $ 1,000, but my mechanic in the Bronx has a new one for around $ 400 WITH labor. If you have a month and don’t need your car, you have lots of time to kill, and you have lots of money to throw away, take it to this Mini shop. Otherwise, GO TO THE BRONX.
In addition, with all the keys I brought to them, some were missing pieces, some were cut, some were broken. I asked if they could please assemble them so that I have at least one extra key. I got the keys back exactly like I brought to them.
Bottom line, they had my car for almost a month and the job that they DID could have been done in 2 – 3 days if one person had paid attention and followed up. Nightmare.

I have a 2006 Mini Convertible that I took to Mini of Manhattan for an oil change, a few repairs, and an auxiliary installation. Overall my experience was fine. It’s a dealership, and I understand I’m paying for that. But when I take my car to the dealership where I’m from they are much more accommodating and clear in explaining what they’re doing and why, which makes the bill easier to stomach.
There were a few miscommunications during my service at Mini of Manhattan, including about pick up time. I was almost stranded without a ride home because they hadn’t told me the correct time the service side closed, but luckily the sales manager who was on duty was amazing and helped me get my car out anyway. They also gave my car a fresh wash, which was appreciated.
My take: If you have a great mechanic in the city, use them. But if you’re in a bind and need Mini service quick, Mini of Manhattan may be just fine, for a price.

RIDICULOUSLY overpriced repair services
Was forced into using them for a bumper repair… Nearly double the cost of doing it elsewhere
We all know auto body repairs are $$$, but a 2″ scratch does NOT take 13 hours and $ 1800 to fix
Go here if you want your wallet emptied!

I did oil change this week. It’s the simplest possible operation. But when I got back home I saw pieces of broken plastic on a coolant tank. They broke plastic mount when changed an oil filter
As they required, I described this situation in a feedback. But they never got back to me with apologies or anything.
I will never come back to this service and do not recommend it to anyone.

I have been in contact with mini Manhattan for a few years but never actually went in until this past weekend. Even after all the years, I still get a bday note from them and I always thought that was thoughtful. Of course I thought of them what my bday came up and decided to go in… so glad I did!!!
John was my sales rep and he was fantastic! We had a brief talk about what I was looking for. He was friendly, genuine and very knowledgable. He did a great job helping me find a car within my budget. He was so good that I ended up getting a car the same day!!! Thank you John for getting got know me and helping me find a car that works for me. Thank you Catherine for keeping in touch and making my lease experience easy. I highly recommend Mini Manhattan.

My sister and I walked in to *just look* at a Mini Friday at 5pm. All we wanted to do was see what the options were for a Certified Pre-​Owned Mini, maybe take a test drive, and ache over the cuteness of them all. We had NO PLAN to purchase a car that day.
Our salesperson, David, was an absolute delight and showed us a Mini, took us out for a test drive, answered our 1000 questions about the car and maintenance issues and financing options. By 7:45pm, we left the lot with a new car. Not kidding — that’s how good a salesman David is. The customer service was fantastic and everyone worked really hard to get us the documentation we needed. FYI, we had limited options for insurance, so we called GEICO, who unquestionably took advantage of the situation and quoted me an exorbitant amount (lesson here is to shop for the insurance in advance as well).
Thank you to David and his manager and the finance guys, everyone who hustled late on a Friday to get us the registration and financing documents, and huge THANK YOU to Sasha who showed us how to operate the car, set up the bluetooth for us, and was generally so supportive and kind about walking us through being a Mini Owner.
If you’re in the market for a car like a Mini, please stop by the dealership to check out the options. It was worth the time for us.

I’ve read all the reviews and just wanted to share my own experience.
First of all, the place has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.
The two times I’ve been in there the receptionist says «hi» and then you are left wondering if any of the sales associates would bother to lift their heads from their cell phones to assist you or facilitate a sale. I literally waited 15 minutes the first time I was there before anyone bothered to ask, «do you need something.»
Sasha did bother to talk to me the first time, and we chatted and he was pleasant enough. Showed me pictures of his two kids, yada, yada. Gave me a ton of brochures. But it’s my lunch hour and I had to get back to the office.
I then get a barrage of emails from the dealership about doing a test drive.
Weeks go by (it IS summer and some of us do take vacation) and I finally have the time to drop in again. Once again, the sales associates are busy chewing their sandwiches, chatting on the phone or just shuffling papers. Nothing. Nada. You could walk in, sit in a car, pass out and die and nobody would notice.
I left my phone number for the receptionist for SOMEONE to call me (not email me incessantly, a phone call) to set up a test drive of two models, since my friend has a Mini and said the suspension is different depending on the model.
I then get emails from Sasha asking me to bring my husband in for a test drive and that he is so busy that he wouldn’t want to «waste my time.»
WHAT THE HECK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?
REALLY?
In this day and age a woman’s gotta bring in a husband in order to qualify for an appointment for a test drive?
I see all these great reviews and is it because I’m not a dude that I get the crappy kind of customer service?
Maybe THIS web site might educate the folks here on how to treat customers.

Walked in for a test drive and after the break down of the lease with my Motoring Advisor, had the keys in a couple days. The staff was awesome and really made the experience seamless and smooth. Special shout out to Sasha who made this purchase possible. THANKS!

The worst maintenance service and customer service .
Do not expect a smile or a gentle welcome by the maintenance /​service manager as she is cold as hell and not customer service friendly at all ! And if your mini has a failure battery they will blame on your driving habit and find any solution to avoid using the valid warranty .
I am to the point it is my 3^rd mini (clubman cooper 2012) and I felt betrayed by the brand but mainly by the dealership who is only seeking to get more and more services done even when not necessary. They even refused to service the remote key that are not working even though they had the car with them … So annoying !
My first flat tire cost me $ 300 to get it fixed there … And second time only $ 15 in a random garage on Atlantic ave !
In conclusion you could buy a mini there but never service your car with them !!

SASHA IS AMAZING! I didn’t even buy the car, but I accompanied my friend to the Mini Cooper dealership today and Sasha was just super helpful and attentive to my friend’s need. Sasha is a joy to be around and pays attention to the details. He made sure my friend got the best bang for his buck (he leased). I definitely recommend him to anyone!
