Four Points by Sheraton Midtown – Times Square

Good hotel. Staffs in the lobby were really nice. My sister’s birthday today, I told them about it and not even 2 mins, all staffs gather other and sang happy birth song to her. We were all happy about it. Good experience and comfy bed. No noise or anything disturbing us all night. i give it 5 stars

Small is rooms but didn’t expect it to be this nice, great, no wait, FANTASTIC location! Service is awesome, not much of a reception/​lobby but it was a great price for the time I was there and perfect for what I needed.

We really liked this place and plan on staying here again soon, such a convenient location directly across from Port Authority if you exit on 40^th street, however we had no problem with noise. A block from Times Square but away from the main drag so we found the street less crowded.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival and thanked for being an SPG preferred quest. The check in wait was only a couple minutes. We were early and they did everything to get us in a room within a ½ hour. We were offered star points or complimentary drinks… hmmm how do I decide… lets just say the small bar had great drinks.
The rooms are a nice size for a nyc hotel. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I’m a clean freak and I had no complaints. Suggestion would be to request a room not by the elevator and you will have a great night sleep. Ours was in a corner and we were very happy.
We did receive a complimentary breakfast buffet for the next morning, which was good. They also have a deal with the sky room next door (Marriot) for those staying at Four Points guests get in free and bypass the line. Great view so remember to check it out.
We found the staff to be helpful and so nice. We really liked the feel and friendliness of this smaller hotel. A solid 4 STAR hotel but I had to give 5 because they were over the top nice. Decided from now on when we stay in the city this will be the hotel of choice.

Good staff, not for business travelers. The Internet connectivity was terrible. Lots of unproductive time trying to work. I was jealous of Fairfield inn guest since that was the only connection available. I’m a loyal SPG member questioning my decision. If I wanted to take a vacation and disconnect from work, I would revisit but not for business.

Stayed here on a Saturday night using 12k SPG points while on a short trip to New York. Stayed the previous two days in another hotel in Chelsea.
Location is good — very close to Time Square and the Broadway theaters. However, the restaurants and bars in this area are not the best. So you end up taking subway to East Village, Chelsea or Greenwich where most of the good stuff are located. So stay here if you like touristy stuff, go further south if you want the real New York.
The rooms are nice and the beds are firm which make me wanna give 4 stars but the bad attitude of front desk lady made the checkin a disappointing experience and not up to the SPG standard. I use the SPG app extensively and I was assigned a room on 17^th floor (presumably with a good view) that was confirmed on the app. However when I went to collect the keys, I was given 9^th floor room looking right into another building. When I questioned the lame response I got was that the SPG app and keyless entry does not work so the room that you are assigned is not correct. Now having used the app, I probably have more trust in their app than one of their employees themselves. Her name was Michelle so not sure she was the manager or a new front desk associate. Either ways not the right way to answer.
Apart from that it was fairly crowded so checkin take some time. They also took quite a long time to get our bags at the bell desk (probably 15 mins or so). And the keys stopped working when we arrived after having fun in the city late night. Another bit of hassle when you show up at 2 am and realize you need to stand in freezing cold to get in because your keys stopped working.
Overall I have stayed at better SPG properties and would probably just go to a Hilton or Westin next time.

Nice location and very close to Times Square. The rooms were a bit small IMO especially when you have luggage bags and have multiple guests in 1 room. However, that would not stop me from booking here in the future. The breakfast buffet was nice. the lady that checked us in gave us a free pass to the buffet for signing up to be a rewards member. I would like to thank all the friendly and helpful staff members! Special thanks to Casey for assisting us with our departure.

Forgot to review this when I stayed there last month. Upon entering, I was EXTREMELY unimpressed. Whilst I was awaiting checkin procedures to receive my room number and key, the very young staff proceeds to discuss inappropriate discussions literally in front of me as if I wasn’t standing there. Most of the staff is very young, uneducated from how they spoke and extremely rude. Shouting to one another across the main lobby was appalling. The room was mediocre at best. All and all, I will never make the mistake of going back there again. Sad because I wanted to love it. All the best.

Stayed here for 3 night the first week of Dec 2015. Room size was what is expected of NYC. Snall but clean & updated. The view from our 22^nd floor was amazing especially at night! So beautiful! This hotel offered a roof top lounge & it was cold but we were so stoked to take in the views! Unfortunately, it was booked by a private party during the 2 of the 3 nights we tried to go up there. That was not cool! One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of this feature. The lounge they provided with a bar & sitting areas inside was very cramped, not to mention yet ANOTHER reservation in the corner which made seating ridiculously cramped. We stayed for like one drink & left! Overall, this is a great hotel, but don’t get your hopes up about the rooftop lounge which we found out later is not even owned by the hotel, the hotel just gets permission for guest to utilize. Other than that, no issues. Not even with bus authority next door.

Overly crowded. Unfriendly help at the desk. to get help from guest services reguarding them locking the mini bar before we checked out. The room we stayed in was next to a room that had very loudy rowdy guests. We called to complain and I have no idea if they ever did anything to quiet the guests down because the noise continued for 2 nights. When we spoke to the front desk at check out we were informed we should have called security we had called guest services. They blamed us for not reporting the problem correctly. How were we to know.
Will not be returning. It was way too crowded to enjoy our stay in NYC.

Great suite, awesome breakfast buffet daily, nice welcome amenity, room cleaned spotlessly daily, friendly staff, nice touch with Starbucks coffee and bottled water replenished daily. Conveniently located (although some homeless nearby) near subway stations, bus terminal.

Another decent Sheraton. Paid 12,000 points for this, and I got a clean room with updated furniture, and all the basics you need from a typical hotel. Remember that this is NY, so most spaces are really small and close together. Small lobby, but quick check in, and I got points being platinum at check in. Back to the cramped NY part– room was looking directly into an office building, but I just close the curtains. Elevators seem to be a bit busy, there is a bit of a wait going through the 32 different floors. Also, there was an odd smell upon entering my room. Other than that, it’s all good. Next time, I should wait and delay my check in to get the time square view. It’s okay though.

Where’s my ice that I requested twice??? Are u still looking for it like how u took an hour to look for qtips… Maybe u can send it with the other customer you sent to our room after double booking a room with 2 differ bet customers with operable keys to open our door while we were in the room… Or maybe how you. Forget it… Too many broken promises… Maybe we had an unlucky weekend… But then again the front desk was kinda nice, and offered us free water all day. So they were nice… I guess

Well since its NY and in the heart of time square Im given this a 4 star for the simple fact that it is clean, comfortable and affordable for the area. And located in the perfect spot, even if you have to walk over a few folks sleeping on the sidewalk as is typical in the area/​it’s right next to the subway hub so if your visiting you can visit most plans with minimum effort. Central Park is just a good 10 – 15 min walk .so are Other spots like time square, Empire State bldg. and freedom tower. The only gripe I have is the ventilation in the room gets kinda stale

After some thought, this hotel did not meet expectations. We did not sleep well here because we were woken up by housekeeping stampeding and yelling in the halls. We were woken up and annoyed by a very high pitched, loud, ringing noise coming from the bathroom. This sound was nearly continuous.
The shower floor was not clean.
However, the price was right comparatively, the location is good, the bed is comfortable.
Yes it is next to the bus station and a parole office. I don’t think extra caution is needed here — you should be aware and making safe choices anywhere. When the guys lined up to check in for parole, there were police officers everywhere. If anything, you’re more safe at this time.
If I wanted to stay in Times Square again (which I don’t think I do) I would first look into another hotel but ultimately would book this place again.
It comes down to this: we got what we paid for.

Not a bad hotel but the location is really not the best. It is located directly across from Port Authority and if the price per night was about $ 100 less, I would probably rate it higher. But this rating is relative, of course, to the expectations that come from paying a lot.
The room is comfortable enough but a tad small. There is really not any room to walk around or many places to put your things. We found it cramped, but we have also been in smaller rooms, thus the three stars. I will say, like another hotel we stayed in recently, this one had a few places in which to put your toiletries in the bathroom. That is important and we appreciated it. We also appreciated the towel washing policy. We received a $ 5 voucher for the hotel restaurant every day we did not request a new towel. Although we never actually used the accumulated vouchers, we liked the fact they were making worth people’s while to not overuse the laundry facilities.
Were the hotel located in a better area (or cheaper) we would probably book with them again.

The staff was amazing from the moment I walked trough the door! Everyone was so helpful and kind.
The location is great! Right in/​next to Time Square with out all the hustle & bustle right outside your door. The night club that is apart of the hotel was super fun and had amazing views!
This is where I’ll be staying every time I’m in NY

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly but I don’t think I even have the words necessary to express how horrible and frustrating the elevators are. There are only three, they are small, and for all four days of our srat only two of the elevators were working.
This hotel is 32 floors, so there are a lot of people trying to use the elevators. I had to wait an average of about 10+ minutes every time I wanted to use the elevator.
At one point, I waited 20 minutes for the elevator, finally got up to my room on the 32^nd floor, and found that my key was not working. So I had to wait to get back down to the lobby to get a new key and then wait to get back up. All in all the whole journey took me almost an hour.
I don’t know if this was just because the third elevator was out of service, but it was just extremely frustrating to have to wait so long every time we were coming and going.

Excellent service, clean rooms, and awesome location… Except that damn elevator!
Stayed here 3 nights for a leisure trip and it was overall a great experience for what we got.
The room was fine, a little small, but… It’s NYC and everything is out of space. The bed was huge and the bathroom was pretty sweet.
The service was great and everyone was really nice. I ordered a bottle of champagne to surprise my GF for her birthday and they even left a nice birthday note which was unnecessary (not to mention, they comped the bottle)
The location is unreal. You are blocks from time square, Broadway, and are right by the subway .
My only complaint is about he elevators which require you to scan your card to get to your floor (pretty normal). They were never worked as plan and sometimes we’d end up going to a floor you don’t intend.
All in all it was a great stay and definitely recommend.

I actually cancelled my hotel booking at the Westin and changed it to Four Points. Why? The location is top notch next to Times Square. The staff are also friendly, and the manager of the location cares a lot. He cares enough to put his card in the front with his cell # (check out my pictures).
You also get 2 waters when you go into your room. If you need more, they gave me another 2 at the front desk without hesitation.
They recognize your platinum membership level.
The only thing I wish was better was the gym. It’s insanely tiny, but surprisingly, it gets the job done for a few workouts. What more can you expect from a Four Points?
I’ll stay here as frequently as I can at a good price. Bravo.

I was apprehensive about staying here after reading reviews on Unilocal and TripAdvisor.
Comments made included: 1) Across the street from Four Points is the Port Authority bus terminal. 2) the ex con parolee office couple doors up from the hotel. 3) the Sky Bar nightclub next door to the hotel.
All three concerns above were non issues. Good reasons to stay at Four Points: 1) The hotel is conveniently located down the block from one of the entrances to the 42^nd St Times Square subway station. 2) walking distance to Times Square if you are going to catch a play. 3) lots of diverse places to eat on 9^th Av. 4) close to the Lincoln Tunnel if you are flying out of Newark. 5) Wear ear plugs to bed and you won’t be able to hear the thumping noises coming from the club.
We used SPG points. Got a high floor with a view of the city. Rooms are small. The big con — the bathroom fixtures are cheap. And you have to turn them completely for hot water. It’s like taking a shower each time.
The hotel staff was wonderful. Friendly and attentive.
Wednesday nights is BBQ nIght. Free small bites and wine, beer, and sodas.
Monday and Friday, it’s free popcorn.
Free bottled water, coffee and tea in your room. Free WiFi.
We departed the hotel on Saturday afternoon via paid private limo service arranged by the hotel for Newark international airport. The trip took about ½ hour.
I’d consider staying here again.
