Mostly does Court Ordered appraisals for Custody cases. Not very good at this job. Dr Rand main line of questioning has to do with making more appointments in order to put in his court ordered 40 hours, and take your money. He also spends a lot of time going over his billing procedure (two whole sessions @ $ 350 /​hr) He types everything you say, then uses that as a ‘thick report’. I was told by several lawyers he is renowned for producing thick reports of questionable quality. If I had known anything about this man, I would not have let my lawyer put his name forward as a forensic evaluator. He is expensive and basis his reports of personal bias. Very lazy about doing any research, never called school psychologists, and only called collateral witnesses after much prompting. Two actual Psychiatrists he spoke with related the same thing; «he had little knowledge of child psychology», and did not even understand what ‘emotional deprivation syndrome’ was.
Avoid, he is incompetent, and expensive. Having your lawyer suggest him will just add pain and expense to your case, and not produce an accurate report.
