We are a NYC tour company owned and operated by native New Yorkers. We specialize in giving both visitors and locals a real New Yorker’s experience. Harlem Jazz Tours, Lower Manhattan Shopping and a very customizable walking tour of the city which shows how to navigate the streets and subways. Make up your own tour, we can help.

We are now offering relocation services. If new to NYC we will show you how to get around NYC, where to shop in your neighborhood, etc. Hey, everyone needs an «Uncle Al» who will be available to answer any questions via cell phone as part of our service.

History

Established in 2008.

We live on Leroy /​St. Lukes Pl,. one of the most filmed streets in NYC. Everyday we saw dozens of tourists taking pictures of the building where they did the opening shot of the «Cosby Show». What they were missing was across the street there is a huge Keith Haring mural, one of two left outdoors in NYC, and not one tour guide pointed it out. And did you know that JJ Walker park used to be a cemetery just like most city parks river to river below 42^nd street including Bryant Park (a potters field)?

We realized that our «hometown» was not being seen by visitors the way we saw it and decided to open Do It Like a New Yorker.

Born and raised on the Lower Eastside (before it got trendy) who has a love of all things «New York». Formerly Saks Fifth Avenue’s «Chief Scientist» and self employed in the retail sector Al has been exploring NYC all his life.
