Description

Specialties

Because while D-Dojo Karate Columbus Circle™ does offer unsurpassed fitness training for kids and adults, we’re far more than just another martial arts academy.

We take a holistic approach to Karate. For us, it’s not just about getting you into peak physical condition. We see Karate as an ideology – one that will transform not only your body, but your life.

History

Established in 2006.

«Igor…spent years deconstructing and reconstructing the methods and techniques he studied.»

Igor Dyachenko knows that the best way to be an effective teacher is to always remain a student. Despite being a world champion Karate master, the winner of countless medals, who’s achieved the highest ranking allowable for someone his age, it’s not unusual to see him in a Beginner class, to make sure he remembers the basics.

A native of the Ukraine, Igor’s father enrolled him in Karate school to help maintain his son’s physical and mental well-being after the 1987 explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Within five years, Igor was placing in competitions – beyond his age category. In 1997, he won first place out of 148 world competitors in the Junior World Championships in Milan.

Continuing on his journey of self-discovery, Igor felt a greater and greater need to share his knowledge. In 2006, he founded D-Dojo Karate. He spent the next several years deconstructing and recon.
