White Fleet Rollins Cab

I did not get our Taxi drivers name, but he is from Moldova near Romania cab number 1302. He was GREAT! Very friendly, made us feel comfortable, and welcomed.

We really lucked out!!! The second day of our trip, Mo’ (#0985) was driving his normal route by our hotel and brought us to The Ruby Slipper in Marigny. The next day we just started to wait outside the hotel for him… Waiting for him to circle by. He became our regular driver. He made it a point to talk to us and explain the new area we were entering and pointed out Frenchmen St which would come in handy later in the trip. Wednesday he brought us to the National WW2 Museum on Magazine St. Tip– if you are a tourist in the city and your are lucky enough to get a good cab driver, listen to his/​her advice. Mo’ told us where to go, where to avoid, etc. Also, on one trip he made a point to give us information never reported by the media about Katrina. We saw some of the devastation in The Lower Ninth Ward… 11 years later. Kinda off topic, but you would think Katrina was yesterday. There was so much the media never reported… We had no idea about some of the occurrences, and we were following the news pretty closely. Mo’ gave us the info and pointed out where the Guard was located back then, where people would get food from The Red Cross, etc. Pretty shocking. It really felt like parts of the city were just abandoned. Anyway, I digress. Request Mo’ if you are in the city. Ask questions… Learn. Funny side note my husband and I were waiting one morning for him and a colleague, another driver, asked my husband if we were waiting for Mo’?My husband was like, How’d Ya Know? He explained he had seen us previously and noted we always waited for Mo. He called him for us! And we learned he was 5 minutes away. Such nice, helpful people… we contacted him when we wanted to go to the airport, and sure enough he was there in five minutes. Our history lesson continued on our ride. He pointed out University Hospital and also the now empty Charity Hospital. He explained that they are not going to rip the hospital down because of the chemicals and the cleanup involved. He also gave us a geography lesson involving the make up of NOLA with regards to the water, levees, etc. enjoyable ride to the airport. If we ever return, we will definitely request him. If we know of anyone going, we will definitely recommend him for cab services. Thanks Mo’!

These idiots hit me while I was riding my bike to work. It was right before a stop sign on Chartres. Because of traffic they had to stop right after I hit the ground. The passengers inside opened the doors and asked if I was alright, and the taxi took off with the passengers hanging outside of the doors. The company laughed at us when we called them about it. My wife had written this and Unilocal removed it. So I thought I’d add some pictures as well.

The gentleman that picked us up was rude as all hell. I asked him how his day was to be polite and make casual conversation — he proceeded to bitch and complain about über and background checks and drug checks and when he asked me what I thought of über, I provided a very diplomatic response to which he tore me to shreds and told me i «think wrong» and that’s the problem with today’s youth.
Dudes name is Salko Hasanovic and he shouldn’t be in any sort of customer service role or customer facing industry.

Our driver was an asshole from Bosnia that bitched about the US through our whole ride. At one point of his rant he nearly hit a pedestrian (his fault) then proceed to yell that the guy was trying to get hit in order to sue him. Go home! I’ll Über next time.

I’m not sure if this is correct cab company, but we took a cab with a man named Matthew from White Fleet Cab and he was AWESOME! He had taken us to City Park and gave us his card for when we needed a ride back to our hotel. We ended up getting engaged that night while at City Park. When Matthew came back to pick us up, we told him what had happened and he shared in our excitement! It made the night so much more fun. He even took us to the airport the next day and gave us our first wedding gift — a New Orleans Jazz CD. Matthew was truly an amazing guy and he made our first days as an engaged couple so much more memorable and enjoyable.

awful. driver cursed other cab drivers (competitors) prior to and during our ride. drove aggressively. had on no «air» circulating in van on humid night in NOLA, but when asked to do something about it (his window was down, but my window was broken), said «too many whiskeys» (implying this is why I was uncomfortably warm). never again.

Driver insisted on viewing my driver’s license to pay by credit card. He noted my info. This was about ten minutes ago and not okay. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming it is a bad upper-​management thing but that’s not how taxi cabs work ANYWHERE. He cited identity theft as a reason. I’m not okay with this. There are 3 scenarios: 1) White Fleet wants to maximize the inconvenience (and if you aren’t driving some people may not have their drivers’ license on them, or, ya know, at all) 2) Driver had a stolen credit card, or whatever, and White Fleet made him assume responsibility so now he’s ultra jaded and covering his own ass (white fleet cares nothing about employee or staff in this scenario), or 3) Driver is trying to steal my limited and paltry info.
No matter what this is in no way shape or form okay. I’m not taking any chance and I will never step foot in a White Fleet cab again. Hope the tourists work out for you all because no local is gonna be okay with this.

Very disappointed this time with white Fleet. called for taxi to airport from Westbank and I saw one taxi go by the pickup address and never comeback. Called office to see what’s going on and she says the driver can’t find the address… really? Maybe you should try Waze or Google maps? Needless to say, second taxi comes and again drives by the address again. I had to yell at him to get my attention. My flight is in jeopardy at this point and I’m quite pissed. It’s no wonder why Über is Killin it!

I’m sure most of the cab drivers for this company are courteous and friendly, but Oscar Salazar was neither of those things. He was incredibly rude — he wouldn’t let me roll down the window, insisted that we didn’t know how to open the vents for the AC, and nearly got in multiple accidents. It was not only unpleasant but very scary. He even told me to «F» off when I got out of the car. If you see white fleet number 1009 (permit number 13LDR-​895), steer clear. I hope the complaint I file gets him off the road.

Just had a horrible experience with them. I am a Nola local and called to get a cab from Uptown to the CBD for dinner. The lady asked where I was going then said «I don’t have a cab for you» and hung up on me. I called back and she was very rude again. I told her I can’t wait for Über to come to New Orleans since local cab companies are so unreliable and she said she was going to call the NOPD on me. Very rude and unprofessional.

I used the White Fleet cab service from my hotel to airport. On the way the driver asked if he could stop for gas which I thought was odd but no worries I had a few extra minutes. After stopping to get gas we arrived at the airport and just as I closed the door I forgot a bag with some vinyl albums. I immediately called the cab company and was told the driver couldn’t return because he was already back in the city (in just 3 mins, I don’t think so). Anyway they said not to worry that the driver would drop the package off at the New Orleans taxi cab bureau. I must have called White Fleet at least 7 times about this with promised a call from the office manager to sort out the issue. I spoke to the same very plesant woman every time who also seemed shocked that the issue was not settled. I never received any call from White Fleet the two month period that I was contacting them. The Taxi cab bureau never received the vinyl albums from the taxi service.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Called for a cab and was told ten minutes. After waiting 30minutes no show so we called back. They said they were too busy to pick us up and hung up on us… we were in CBD!!!
Please bring Uberx to this backwards ass town! These cab companies need to be put out of business.

Decided to try White Fleet again and the experience was pleasant. Driver was prompt, professional and shared some funny jokes. I may call again in the future but won’t soon forget the frustrating experiences of the recent past.

Tried to get from CBD to the Quarter on a saturday at 11 with our dog. We had to continuously call because the dispatcher told us there were no cabs close to us (in the CBD??). We finally had a dog friendly cab scheduled to pick us up at our desired time of 11am… well at 11:13 the cab rules up and the woman freaks out over our 27 lbs bulldog puppy. We tried to confirm that she was indeed a pet friendly cab but all she would respond with was «I ain’t takin’ that, I ain’t takin’ that.» We asked her to dispatch another actual pet friendly cab, said she would but drove away immediately. We had to call again and was told there MIGHT be one available in half an hour. We ended up just driving ourselves. What a waste, NEVER AGAIN.

Our hotel called White Fleet for a ride to the airport and scheduled it for 3:30 PM. He asked if we were paying by credit card so he could notify the cab company. We were picked up by a nice driver but he did not help us put our bags into the back of his large SUV. When we arrived at the airport and I showed him American Express he asked if we had cash. We said no we had to pay with the card and he asked if we had another type of card. I gave him a Visa. He said American Express charges $ 10. He said if they had told him we were paying with a card he would not have picked us up. I pointed out that it’s a shame then that the city requires him to accept credit cards, the sarcasm was lost on him. When the machine went to the main menu I had to figure out how to get back to payment because he said he could not touch it.
Worst cab ride ever!

Just took 0586 to the airport. It was a street pickup. Quick, safe trip through bad weather. He was happy to chat when I asked questions but otherwise left me alone.
If only all cab rides were this pleasant…

When United Cab didn’t show up, I gave White Fleet a try. The dispatcher said it would be 10 minutes. After standing outside the pickup address for 20 minutes and never seeing a single White Fleet cab anywhere around, I called back. The dispatcher said nobody was at the address and the cab left. Yeahhh. I guess I missed the only cab that allegedly sat right in front of me for 10 minutes. Worthless experience.

I’m tired of cabs at the airport strong-​arming me into taking a shared cab. I’m a local, and I want to go HOME when I come HOME. I don’t want to sit through 4 other stops downtown «on the way» to Bywater. I want to go to my HOUSE — not to mention that I don’t want to pay the same amount of money for a ride that takes 1 hour!
And after the fight I got into with cab #1810, White Fleet, I will NEVER call this cab company (United is always kind), and I will always stand up for my legal right to have a cab take me where I want to go.

I’ve gotta be honest. I’m slowly but surely losing my love for United. Sure, you get all the charm of the ladies answering the phone, not to mention, the usually AWESOME, friendly and efficient drivers.
But… I’ve had a couple terrible experiences recently that have me calling White Fleet, instead.
During Mardi Gras, a United driver picked up three girls with suitcases he found on a corner in the CBD as he was driving me home from the Bywater. I didn’t complain b/​c, well, it was during Mardi Gras and that’s probably enough said.
BUT… he dropped them off in the LGD on the way to my apartment Uptown, and then he charged ME for the extra passengers. WTF? I called and lodged a complaint because I stupidly didn’t feel like arguing (also, I felt sorry for him, like a dumbass, because he was talking about putting kids through college and being broke and… well, it was Mardi Gras, LOL). I’ve come to find out that THAT waste of time lodging the complaint was not worth the inconvenience and money I was out.
Other issue with United: the last few times I was going to the aiport, I had no cash and apparently barely any drivers accept CCs so I was waiting at the very least a half hour and almost an *hour* once for a cab to pull up.
So, White Fleet it is from now on. Just the way it goes…
