My first time coming here recently was fabulous. The staff was sweet and helpful. My food was ready quickly too, even without calling ahead around dinner time. Tried the dumplings, and egg drop soup, and they were fabulous! Also, the staff assured me that almost anything can be made vegetarian, as everything is made fresh in house. Can’t wait to explore their menu more!

Pork egg rolls made in house. Score. They are tasty and free of mysterious fatty bits. Hot and sour soup made to order. Another score. Spice level varies, but I can deal with that in lieu of being served something scary from a long bubbling cauldron of leftover bits. I swear some places have an eternal pot of this soup, that they keep adding off cuts of veggies, meat, and stock to, never actually rotating it! Identifiable chicken pieces, and ample fresh vegetables make this little spot a go to for me, especially with the difficulty I have in locating old school style American/Chinese food I find palatable. Just down the road form New Wok is Kengs, which is easily the worst glop I have encountered in ages. I will admit, I keep ordering the same few things to avoid disappointment. In addition to the egg rolls and hot and sour soup, I like the egg foo young(chicken or veggie), kung pao chicken, and Ta Chin chicken. Singapore mei fun was just o.k. Mandarin chicken would be a great dish if I liked the sauce, but it had a flavor I do not care for so much. Thats just me, but it was a quality product. I really like the freshness of the veggies in the dishes. Napa cabbage in the egg foo young is nice, and the kung pao has a good amount of fresh mushrooms, celery, and onions instead of being loaded with mostly canned water chestnuts. I would love to see Chinese broccoli instead of American style in the dishes. Or as an option anyway. I suppose I should just ask. They are very accommodating with substitutions or omissions of ingredients. I find the portions less ample than might be implied. They use a pint/quart definition on the menu, but the containers are not exactly packed tightly. I can deal with this, as I would rather have something tasty, than a giant heap of crap(cough cough Ju Yuan in Golden Valley). Chinese food has suffered from the idea that it should be plentiful and cheap. I will gladly pay more for better quality.

Great little hidden place off of Rockford road(42) in New Hope! We got our order fast on a Friday night. Food was really good! Plus it was a really good price for the portions you get. I give it a thumbs up!

We had the Veggie Egg Foo Young, Beef Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, Beef & Broccoli, Chicken Fried Rice. The best was the Egg Foo young, flavorful and lots of fresh veggies. The worst was the Chicken Fried Rice no flavor, the chicken was bleach white, no seasonings or veggies! All beef tasted fake and rubbery. The sesame chicken was not crispy, more syrupy. The service was fast. But we won’t order from here again.

Typical Chinese food. Their Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken is great. The best Chinese food in the Crystal, Robbinsdale and New Hope area… and the deliver(free with $ 15 purchase)

I have been going to New Wok express for years. Even after moving around the country, I have yet to find a better take out. My typical order is Sesame chicken and cream cheese wontons. It is always a delight to go. Service is wonderful and delivery has always been ahead of schedule. Love it

Finally! Delicious Chinese takeout that delivers to us! No more mediocre delivery from the other places near us. This place is great, fresh crunchy veggies, no over sauced dishes, and you can tell it hasn’t been sitting in a vat all day getting soggy. Keep them in business!

Tastes fresher tham most Chinese places. Great General Tso’s. Not over fried and dried out chicken. Amazing egg foo young. Good spring rolls. Left a star out because the cream cheese wonton was just ok. But overall a great place.

Ingredients are recognizable. Chicken pieces are large and not overly breaded. Pork spareribs are served in a nice, simple sauce. Singapore Mai fun is very tasty and on and on and on. Don’t kid yourself, the food comes off a Sysco truck, but what they do with it is above par compared to some other Chinese delivery joints that will remain unnamed. The topper here is the fast, friendly service and reasonable prices. My go to delivery outfit when I don’t want to turn on the oven.

I ordered the beef and broccoli, chicken lo mein and cheese wontons and everything were just ok. One thing I really liked was that the veggies were nice and crisp and not overcooked or too soggy with sauce. I’ll most likely eat here again but, there are a couple of other places I want to try before coming back.

I love New Wok for the steamed buns, but lately(past six months) they only have them about 50% of the time I call for delivery. It’s like a game that ends in delight or total disappointment in my meal. I really hope they start planning better and get these in stock!

Pretty good for Chinese take-out. I ordered the triple delight which was delicious, and the boyfriend ordered Kung pao chicken topped with loads of celery. Would recommend.

Food is tasty but they forgot part of my order and messed up another item. When called they said to busy will just deduct… Poor customer service

The food is pretty standard Chinese delivery fare, but it is always good and reasonably fast. The staff are very friendly. They are take-out/delivery only and just have a small area for waiting for your food to be ready. My favorite dish is the steamed dumplings.

New Wok Express is our go-to take out place and we just can’t get enough. Their food is always hot and the veggies are always fresh. They will custom order for you if you need something taken out or substituted. Our go-to dishes are veggie Mai fan noodles, veggie fried rice, General Tso’s chicken, Lemon chicken, and veggie egg foo young and we’ve never been disappointed with taste. They deliver quickly and the delivery guys are super nice.

Just trying this place for the first time, and I have to say that it’s not very good in the way of authentic Chinese food. It’s located in a little shack of a building next to a bowling ally. I ended up ordering the Szechwan beef and it has a little more onions than I’d care for and quite a bit too sweet for my taste. The fried rice is bland as well. If you’re in the mood for American Chinese perhaps this is the place for you, but as for authenticity it’s way off the mark.

Every time I go to Minnesota to visit family and friends, I get together with a friend for a night of Chinese take-out and movies. New Wok Express is the one I usually suggest. I usually order vegetable fried rice, cream cheese wontons and vegetable egg rolls. My favorite is the fried rice — big pieces of broccili, snow peas, carrots and NOT greasy. Very small building in the parking lot of a bowling alley, just take-out or delivery.
