Off Broadway, but what a heck of a great bar to fall into and listen to some great music while being served by some of the sharpest and most attentive bartenders in Music City. Nothing special… except for the authentic flavor of a great southern bar. Just killer!

Mediocre food at best. I ordered a pizza which tasted mostly like a frozen pizza from the grocery store. Limited drink menu. Sat upstairs and got poor service. Ex. I had to go to the bar to get my own water refill and at least once there was no one behind the bar so just had to wait for someone to show up. Pretty sure it only stays open based on the need for more restaurants to cater to the large tourist crowd.

Waitress told us half the items on the menu weren’t available, told us to «go to the bar» to get water (we were there for dinner). Probably worst service I’ve ever had. Won’t be coming back. Thank goodness there are other places I’ve been in Nashville that were great.

I love this bar! Right off broadway but not full of drunk kids. Great singers… like Jimmy Charles! He was amazing. sang a lot of goodies but not the same olé songs you hear at every other bar, plus he sings his originals! Best night in nashville!
The jalapeño burger & tots are delicious! Margaritas gone down smooth.

We stumbled across this gem while cruising Broadway. Its set a little bit off the main drag and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. They had two amazing guitarists and not to mention a great bar/​waitstaff who were always super friendly. We ended up ordering some ribs and they were fall off the bone AMAZING. Seriously, we thought they were better than Jacks BBQ on Broadway. We loved this bar so much we went back a few times during the course of our stay. Definitely a place to check out!

Solid bloody mary, $ 11 but whatever we are on Broadway. Good live singers, nice menu. They have air conditioning, that’s a plus. Check out my bloody mary pic… it will let you know why you should come here. Ya the mushroom was a tad mushy and the Bacon and slim jim was questionable, but it was an all around good time

Person answering the phone taking orders was rude. French fries was over cooked and the burger was not all that. I had to wait for my food and it wasn’t fresh. I don’t know if the place has changed owners but there food used to be really good. I don’t know what happen.

Stopped in for a drink and discovered a quaint atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Carlton Anderson was playing the guitar and singing some great tunes. We requested a little Dierks and Carlton made it his own. Talented guy and will keep an eye out him on our return trip to the awesome city

Best live music I heard in the Broadway area (which is saying a lot). Drinks are priced just below everything on the main strip and the bar had a cool atmosphere. Bartenders were very nice as well.

GREAT pulled pork, friendly staff, excellent greeter, and good prices too! The band was friendly and played one of my requests. This place is usually not too crowded. Great place to go before you do the big time bars on Broadway or go souvenir shopping.

We both had a lot of fun here. The food was fine, and the drinks were well priced. We were there on a Sunday night and it wasn’t busy, but the live music was incredible (Carlton Anderson (sp?)). Jalapeño burger was fine, and the philly cheesesteak was actually pretty good. We both enjoyed our time here and LOVED the live music– it really gives you the Nashville feel.

We sort of stumbled onto this place looking for somewhere to get a quick bite to eat before a concert. We just made it in time because about an hour later and this place was packed as well. We ordered some burgers and tots and I have to say I was very surprised good burger but be warned it is huge we could have split one and the tots were super crispy… just good bar food. The bartenders were also great super friendly they were very understaffed but they got the food out fast and drinks steadily coming the whole time. We would stop by again for a late night snack or before a football game. My only problem was the band… they were good played country music like you are suppose to in Nashville but as most bars in Nashville they play at a level where no one can speak come on its only 7 not time to party just yet lol.

Went to Nashville for a long weekend — good times full of good music and great eats! Believe it or not the Swinging Door has some great grub! Granted it’s your typical bar food but it’s very good (and we were even sober) I bet it’s even better if you’re not! Ha!
The Cuban was fantastic among the best I’ve had and my friends loved their burgers. We got cheesy tots as a starter – YUM! Crispy tater tots – HELLOOO! We also had the bloody mary which as others have said, is a meal in itself. It would definitely hit the spot when you need ‘a hair of the dog that bit ya’ on the morning after.
This will be a regular stop on our visits to Nashville.

Yes, I’m a local and no, I don’t «hate Broadway». We end up in the honky tonk district if we have out of town guests or if we attend a game or a show we’ll take a lap too. Last night I had a cousin visiting (bachelorette party, go figure) and she texted me that they were at Swinging Doors. We’d walked past this bar a few times and always said, «We’ve never been in there» whilst walking right by. Turns out, it’s one of your better honky tonks. The bartenders had a lot of personality, the music was really good and the whole place just felt newer, cleaner and smelled better. Several HD TVs placed well so we could keep an eye on the Preds waxing the Blackhawks was good too. This place and Robert’s are going to be where we steer our guests.

Dana Marie, How I love your shakes and I’m not talking about your ice cream swirled in a blender.
She danced, she moved, she shook her booty, she listened but acted like she didn’t and she got everything right. She delivered a burger just like I wanted and did the bottled beer with sass and pizzaz.
When you go to a fine steak place you expect fine dining and great steak. When you go to a honky tonk with great live tunes and a burger menu that you want to try, it should deliver it just right.
Swinging Doors Saloon swings the right way for me.

A perfect Broadway gem! We ducked into this place several times because we seemed to find the only empty seats each time we peeked in.
The food was fast, fresh, and piping hot. We didn’t order anything elaborate, but it was yummy every time.
The entertainment was spot on and the guys playing were a good time as well as accomplished, polished performers. Each staff member we encountered each day was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. One day while we were sitting the bartender passed out bottle cozies, which I thought was a nice, hospitable touch.
Thanks for the many good times – we loved it!
