Wednesday night at 730. Food was good but the service was slow. Ian was a great server and very thorough in his description but food took about an hour to come out. I really enjoyed the pork belly poptart. However, the pork chop was a little salty but the black eyed peas were delicious and the greens were pretty phenomenal. The nashville 75 was pretty delicious but that also took forever to come out. The atmosphere was pretty nice and food was decent but the service was a little frustrating and disappointing. It shouldn’t take 2 hours to have a meal on a Wednesday night. Also there’s a really confusing system to pick up your leftovers. But there is complimentary valet if you need it.

I stopped by here this morning for brunch. I ordered the fried bologna sandwich and also got a side of grits. Everything I had was delicious. I also got to try the biscuits and gravy, which were very good as well.

Small but very yummy breakfast menu. Everything lovingly hand made in house or by local folks. Definitely not $$. Looks like about $ 30 per before tip, but well worth it. Our server seemed a bit new or simply lacked belief in himself, but he did ok. Bratwurst, bacon, bread and trifle butter, and grits can’t be beat. Will definitely return on our second visit to Nashville.

— hard to find with construction going on — make reservations if you want to eat, even during week — pricier food — good food, decent quantity for value — pig ears were amazing — pork pop tart and tomato salad were okay, my companions liked them but not my taste — trout was great –loud atmosphere, not good for a chatting place –bar available — neat to see farmers delivering food while there– all food is locally sourced

For the price that I paid, the entire experience was mediocre — both food and the service. My boyfriend and I went into the Farm House for Sunday brunch. We were excited to try this place since we were visiting Nashville for the day. How disappointing it was. First, the brunch menu seriously lacks vegetarian options. If you are either vegetarian or vegan, please don’t even bother to visit this place. Only options you have are salad, eggs, and cheese. I ordered Brunch Taco sans sausage and my boyfriend ordered FH biscuit. Gravy that came with the biscuit had weird after taste. Tacos weren’t all too bad although it was bland. Overall, foods were ok. The most problem that I had with this place was the server. The entire time I was at the establishment, he barely acknowledged me. It wasn’t a big deal at first until at the very end. He brought the check to the table and I paid for the entire meals. He brought the check back to my boyfriend, didn’t make a single eye contact with me, talked to him only. He completely ignored me when he said good bye as we walked out. Was I not there? I don’t usually write reviews but his sexist behavior really bothered me. I hope he won’t repeat his behavior to other female customers. Treat your customers equally regardless of their genders.

We were visiting Nashville and stopped here for dinner. Ambience…great! Menu…seasonal and limited Portions…on the smaller side Wait staff… excellent. very professional and attentive. Our guy graciously answered all our group’s questions without any signs of exasperation. We were a difficult table! Food…awesome. The fried green tomato and the garlic broccolini appetisers were great. The duck confit and hot chicken and the trout al a carte was delicious!

This was my choice for our ‘nice meal’ in Nashville, as I’m all-in on this popular farm-to-table concept. We made a reservation for Friday night, requesting a good view if possible. They gave us a window seat in the back of the restaurant, apologizing profusely because the construction across the street was not the best view. But we got to see the whole interior of this lively, low lit restaurant. The staff made us feel special. Like we were alone in the place despite having others sitting close by. I’d recommend our waitress but it was her last day there before moving. Ken and I battled over apps. I wanted cornbread. He did not. Boo! The kitchen sent over a tiny tasting plate of the Crispy Pig Ears, which we shared with our neighboring table then promptly ordered! The crunch with the sweet and sour sauce… OMG, live a little and order this app! The kitchen also sent over the Pimento Cheese Beignets, which was another amazing app.(I told you they made us feel special! The chef personally delivered the beignets and stayed to chat a while). My entrée choice was the meat board, also on the app menu. This was a huge board of housemade charcuterie. Another winner! My favorite was the soft, salty lamb bacon that melted on the tongue, but there was no average item on this board! Ken went with the Lamb special. An expensive and unexpected choice for him, but it was another amazing dish. Four meaty, perfectly seasoned pink chops on a vibrant bed of pasta, beans and greens. Ken licked his plate. Licked it! Drinks were average priced(for me) but strong and tasty. Easily walkable from the downtown Broadway area. Dress smart-casual. I wanted to return for brunch while we were in town that same weekend, but we were busy. Damn it. Any time I’m in Nashville, I WILL return.

The Farm House has been on the bucket list for awhile. Atmosphere: was really great. Service: Server started well but got a bit scattered as more people came in. Drinks: wonderful. The Nashville cocktail was light and refreshing. Food: The cornbread and butter and the fried green tomatoes should be a must for everyone. Delicious. My friend had their hot chicken and it was good but not great. My other friend had the Quail, broccoli and the hoppin john. Her dish was by far the best of the three. I had the lamb shank. Sadly this dish was was a fail for me. It was way too dry, flavor was flat, but it was very tender. The dryness was the biggest disappointment. I literally had to chug two glasses of water. I’m not sure if lamb is just a naturally dry dish or what but this is the second restaurant that has cooked all moisture out of the lamb shank. Definitely an underwhelming dish. Probably should of had the snapper or trout. I did tell my waiter twice about the issue. He just ignored me which was irritating. I told another waitress and she finally told the manager who graciously took it off the tab. Suggestion: There was a ton on the menu that I didn’t recognize. Since this is a seasonal restaurant, i would suggest they make sure to keep images up to date on their Instagram. I felt the waiters spent a lot of time at each table explaining the menu, which is a good thing but pictures say a thousand words. Overall: I will try this place again. I will have to go back for brunch. I get the feeling my experience will be better during their brunch service. Overall decent place to go. Price was reasonable for downtown.

Welcome, this is The Farm House. Sorry, didn’t have time to scroll through 300+ reviews to see if someone beat me to the punch, so I went with my Phish reference regardless. Those 300+ reviews can’t be wrong. I’m assuming this was a farm to table restaurant based on the name and the décor. We used OpenTable to snag a late reservation and probably needed it. Nashville is very walkable, and this is a short walk from Broadway, and there is limited parking nearby. Our server scolded us for Unilocaling at the table, because all the existing pictures probably aren’t representative of what they are offering that day. So we took a stab and it, and we were happy as could be. I had a trout over squash and vegetables. Lady had duck confit and it was deliciously tender and prepared perfectly. We didn’t get the scallop firsts, but it did seem like they were adequate sized for a meal for one. The steak, which I might have tried if they offered less than 16oz, looked delicious. Maybe next time…

I loved this place. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did but I came away a huge Farm House fan. It was just the right feel and so much quieter than many of it’s competitors in the Broadway/downtown neighborhood. Quieter in a good way. Not quieter meaning it was dead. I came here with a group from work and chose to go to Farm House based off of some recommendations from fellow Unilocalers. While somewhat wary of the food being too«adventurous» for some of my co-workers, all came away impressed! I had the snapper and the table shared an order of the cornbread. The snapper had the perfect texture and deeply flavorful, not overtly rich sauce and an amazing squash casserole to add substance. The cornbread was the surprise of the meal, though. Who knew fresh-made cornbread could thoroughly impress a table of adults?! Pros: Atmosphere, cornbread, flavor, service Cons: It’s a little hard to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for and the parking situation is a pain. That’s what you pay for to get to a SoBro location though! Overall: A great option downtown and one you can proudly impress your business contacts with!

Ok, we eat out a lot. All over the US. We live in Chicago and I’m from New Orleans. Plus I’m in the business. We travel a lot. This meal was very good. The chef is extremely creative. The use of local sustainable ingredients is breath taking. I had Pig Ear small plate w a sweet and sour sauce w a mustard smear on side of plate. I ate every last drop. The pimento cheese beignet was awesome. I ordered my steak by the oz.. 18 to be exact. Great wine list. Awesome craft beer list. The hopin johns were so good.(blackeyed peas w basmati rice and hush puppies in it. Amazing food great location very educated staff. Our server Mark did a great job.

Being single, I have a great advantage of just waltzing into a restaurant and asking for a table for one. Its great, I highly recommend it. This place was packed to the gills but had some bar seating available. So I sat down and ordered. I loved the attentiveness of the bartender. The atmosphere is cozy and totally unlike the exterior. It seemed like a country house somewhere. I got the small plate — the meat board. Great tastes. The cornbread and sweet butter was delicious. I wanted a Guinness but they didn’t have any :(So I settled for a DuckRabbit Milk Stout. I give it 4 stars. I will return. Its more of a treat yourself sort of restaurant. By the time I left it was getting busier. I went on a Friday — early evening. It was probably 8pm by the time I left and there were already vultures scoping out my seat as soon as I left. Excellent food.

I really liked the atmosphere at the Farm House, and the wine bottle water glasses(it’s the small things). Our waiter was good– it did take a few minutes for someone to come pour us waters, and loges for our first drink order(but that could have been because the 4 of us were lost in conversation and hadn’t opened a menu). The porkbelly pop tart was different but good and the cornbread with butter was amazing. My husband had the snapper and I had the Lamb shank with homemade sweet potato gnocchi and sausage. I am not a huge lamb fan(weird, but I don’t like the smell) and I really liked this dish. The presentation was ok– it just looked like a bunch of brown meat with a bone sticking out(could have been because the lighting is low).. . But the taste was amazing! Seriously. The sausage and lamb and gnocchi and mint sauce was Delish. We ordered the deconstructed moon pie for dessert and that was pretty tasty too. I would go back and see what the menu looks like a few months from now.

Amazing food, drinks and atmosphere. 5 of us came at 8:30 and got a table right away. We ordered the crispy pig’s ear, brussel sprout salad, cornbread with maple syrup butter, ribye, duck confit, the trout, braised cow tongue and the scallops. Everything was fantastic except for the ribeye being too done. Service was good! We got the Southern Remedy, which was a little too sweet and the Seelbach, which was recommended to me by the server but was just okay.

Nestled on a side street near the Nashville Symphony, The Farm House really knows how to deliver. The rustic, understated décor sets the tone for a fine meal. My lovely companion and I were celebrating a special event and decided to give The Farm House a try. We were certainly glad we did. Alex, our server, was great. He knew the menu well and made valuable suggestions for appetizers and entrees. The deviled eggs were unique. The bits of country ham made them memorable. The pig ears were a sweet and savory delight. My date really enjoyed the lamb shank. It was perfectly braised, falling off the bone, seasoned nicely without overpowering the lamb. The ribeye was the best I have ever tasted. Grass fed, local beef cooked rare. The sear was perfect, the inside bursting with meaty goodness. We enjoyed the sides, particularly the cornbread and cauliflower. These folks know how to do southern cooking. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was so good I wish I could re-hungry myself and eat here again! We came here around 12pm for lunch and while there were people in the restaurant, we got sat immediately. Unfortunately, because we were here as a lunch break, we did not get drinks, but the cocktails look great. First we ordered cheese beignets for the group because… cheese. They were really delicious. The harissa on the side of the bowl wasn’t too spicy, and it was a nice flavor addition to the cheesy beignets. I ordered the burger for lunch — it came with two patties and a couple pickles(great, fresh pickles), some cooked onions and some kind of fancy mayo. The bun was like a brioche bun and perfectly toasted, and the lentil salad on the side was light and refreshing. I would love to come back again and eat everything else on the menu.

I really think Nashville is blowing up with amazing restaurants. It’s great because whenever I go back I want to them all. The atmosphere was like that of a coffeeshop and had a casual feel to it. It didn’t make me feel that great when I saw all these pretentious people in suits. I mean… work people going during lunchtime on a weekday… :X I remember I got the beignets with pimento cheese filling and harrissa(which was a garnish spice). First of all, I love stuffed beignets… so I can’t judge very accurately because whatever is stuffed in fried dough tastes amazing to me. To an average person, this is probably pretty good. I also got the Cubano sandwich, which was actually a damn good hot sandwich. Filled with tender and juicy meat. We also got the pulled pork sandwich, which was ok but could be seasoned better in my opinion. Service was on par… overall not a bad experience. I would come back and try other stuff on their menu.

Heard these farm to table restaurants are getting popular. walking distance from the new Hilton garden inn, this restaurant is excellent. I loved my dish except it was a taddddd bit on the salty side. I love it when chefs can mix random ingredients together to create the perfect blend of mouth watering amazingness. I am writing a bunch of Unilocal reviews but this particular dish stands out from memory. The interior is modern and warehousey/barn feel. Highly recommend for a special dinner.

Had lunch here on the recommendation of a waitress at Merchants and really enjoyed it. Service was good and the place had a cool design. I had the hot chicken and now that’s all I want to eat. If anyone is coming back from Nashville to NYC, bring me back one and I’ll give you the cash for it plus a generous tip.
