Spray Me Tan

Unprofessional.
My daughter called to make an appointment. Donna never answers her phone which is suspect to start with. She only responds by text. So my daughter texts and doesn’t get a response until 3 days later. Donna says she can have an appt on a Thurs night at 8:00 pm. My daughter goes to a dark industrial park trying to find this place with no signage and is not well lit. She finally finds what she thinks is the right location, and calls to verify before she gets out of the safety of her vehicle. Again Donna won’t answer. So she texts her. Donna responds that she won’t take her because she is 10 min late. Ridiculous. We will seek professional alternatives to Donna’s back alley text only part-​time spray gig. Calling BBB in the morning.

I don’t want to mar this review by showboating my prior bad judgement, but if you knew me circa 2003 – 2008 you probably didn’t bat an eyelash during the first few seasons of The Jersey Shore seeing as how I coulda put J-​Wow and Snook’s fake bake + spray tans to shame with my perma seal coat of day-​glo orange colored bronzer and freshly cooked flesh. Forget Sammi Sweatheart; Candi Crispy Skin was in the hizz-​ouse.
Well, it’s twenty-​eleven now and I’ve learned some valuable lessons in the past few years as far as tanning goes:
Lesson #1. Don’t do it. Sure, it looks pretty now– but you know what’s not so pretty? MELANOMA… and neither is the exacto knife the doc is gonna use to shiv it outta your flesh. Graphic –I know– but learning this information helped me change my unhealthy ways and maybe it could help someone else too.
Lesson #2. Don’t do it. (the first two lessons here are a lot like the «don’t talk about Fight Club» rule) I had a friend whose mom would go tanning
, multiple times a day. You know how some people get fake passports to cross the border with drugs? Well, she had fake IDs and names to sign up at different tanning salons so she could do the fake bake equivalent of a bar crawl and hit up all the booths in the surrounding towns to get nice and country fried. We all used to joke around and refer to her as «leatherface» –but in an affectionate and respectful way, of course. Anyway, I ran into this friend’s mom a while back after not seeing her for probably around 6 years– and you know what she looks like now? Google Image Search: ‘Football’. Everything from the dry, wrinkly skin to the muddy orange color to the stitches on the front where (see lesson #1) the melanoma had to be cut out… and you know what she was doing when I saw her? Grabbing a great big bag of lotions out of her car and walking into a tanning salon. Go figure.
Lesson #3: There are healthy, affordable, and quality options if you absolutely must be tan. Enter: Spray Me Tan.
For only $ 25 (most other places will run you $ 40-​$ 75) you get hand sprayed by Donna, the owner/​operator of Spray Me Tan, and get to choose from a variety of tan levels– none of which will turn you orange — and the process only takes about 10 – 15 from start to finish, with the biggest time variable being how long it takes you to put your clothes back on.
Donna is one sweet peach, nothing but professional, and drop dead gorgeous to boot. She makes you feel comfortable in whatever you choose to wear (or not wear) while you get sprayed and she’ll make sure you’re being sprayed with the best tone for your skin so when it does eventually start to fade, it won’t look uneven or unnatural. If there were any down sides at all, I’d say that the location is defo a bit odd… almost sketchy at first, but you’ll get over it. It’s located in an industrial park within Donna’s other business (some sort of warehouse leasing something or other). It’s odd because you’re thinking you’re being set up to walk into a warehouse full of men or something but once you enter the inner red door and head up the stairs you’ll find Donna’s waiting room just to right of the staircase with lots of current fashion and beauty magazines to read should you have to wait. The room you get sprayed in is just across the hall and very clean along with always being kept at a warmer temp so you don’t get too cold while standing there in your skivvies… or less– your choice. One thing I really like, because I HATE talking on the phone, is that in order to make an appt you just text Spray Me Tan’s number and Donna will get right back to you. And because she works out of her home/​office she’s pretty flexible with times and scheduling.
I’ve been in twice in the past few weeks and had beyond perfect results each time– the first of which was for a wedding and the second of which for a recent Unilocal event that required this Candi girl to be a bit more scantily clad than normal. I had zero streaking and got the perfect bronzed look I was going for, and without any sun damage or harsh effects on my sensitive skin. If you’re in the Naperville or surrounding areas I highly recommend Spray Me Tan for the highest quality spray tan at a more than affordable price.

Best spray tan ever! I had never been spray tanned before and after surfing the web for many days, I came across the «spray me tan» website and thought I would check it out. Needless to say, I am SO happy that I did! Donna is great. She is great at what she does and very laid back. I have gotten two spray tans two weeks in a row and I am in love with it. I will never tan in a tanning bed again. You get a even, golden, natural glow that everyone will compliment you about. The color holds 4 – 5 days and it is amazing. You will feel and look great. I LOVE the tan I get from Spray Me Tan! It is the most natural looking tan and it feels great! The color lasts for a really long time too! The customer service is excellent. It is extremely easy to make an appointment and they always make sure to get me in for whatever time I need. This is the only place I will ever go to get a spray tan. Donna, is so nice and friendly and will pick out the perfect color to get the most natural look. You leave feeling sexy and summery instantly wit out the nasty orange streaks or the worry about the long term damage it is doing to your skin.
I just text-​call her before I come, and it takes 5 minutes and I am done.
I don’t have a perfect body and she makes me feel comfortable and secure as she hand sprays me.
I have gone twice and the first time I was a little scared, but after I showered it settled my nerves and I got many compliments on how tan I was.
