Description

Specialties

Mr. Fish specializes in fresh seafood– honest dishes-and personable service. Mr. Fish sez…“We want to put a splash in your glass and a fish on your dish!”

History

Established in 2008.

Hold up… let’s go back in time for a minute.

In 1995 Ted Hammerman (Mr.Fish) opened up Mr. Fish Seafood Market, Grill and Raw Bar on Broadway, in Myrtle Beach. He owned and operated that establishment til 1999, when Phillips Foods out of Baltimore came along and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Phillips bought Mr. Fish, then sold it to who now owns the restaurant in that location called «Mrs.Fish» (no relation– no divorce).

Long story short, Mr. Fish and his daughter, Sheina decided to partner up and open up another «Mr.Fish» on 34th avenue in 2008. From then they have added an adjoining Fresh Seafood Market and expanded the size of the dining room to accommodate up to 85 diners.

Ted Hammerman H.

Business Owner

Ted Hammerman, A.K.A «Mr. Fish» has been wheeling and dealing seafood along the Grand Strand for over 30 years. After a long stint of travelling to and from Asia, South and Central America teaching people how to produce and package seafood for export in the late nineties/early 2000s; he decided to settle back into his nest in Myrtle Beach to focus on his wholesale seafood operation. Several years later, his daughter, Sheina finished up her culinary degree at Johnson & Wales Charleston Campus and started a catering business. While searching for a commercial kitchen to use for her business, she and her Dad came across a location on 34th avenue north. The two of them decided to open it as a small restaurant with 25 seats 6 days a week, with room to prep for catering events on the weekends. 6 years later, the restaurant and seafood market expanded immensely, still serving the freshest seafood on the beach! Thanks for dining with us!
