Booked a table on which made it much easier to be seated in a place as popular as this. Greeted upon entry and seated quickly. Server was pleasant and answered any questions and made recommendations as requested. Happy hour is between 4 – 7 and was honored in dining room as well. Great selection of beer and cocktails. Started with Brat sliders on mini pretzel buns with caramelized onions and a squiggle of mustard. They were tasty. Entrees included ribeye with Gorgonzola butter and bourbon salmon. Steak was good but not fabulous mostly fat. Veggies were on point though. Bourbon salmon had way too much bourbon sauce, it tasted more like a dessert than a savory fish dish. Mashed potatoes and kale quinoa salad were very good though. So they make excellent sides but our two entrees were mediocre. For such a large restaurant they’ve done an excellent job at keeping it as intimate as possible with the calm décor, low lighting and music at a manageable level to actually have a conversation. Wouldn’t return unless I had a large group to accommodate but was glad that our meal was partly paid with a gift card.

Came for the beer… got the porter. It’s watered down not a full flavor. Had the fries… their«specialty»…came out full of grease.

This is my favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach and we are here once a week. The beer is awesome, food is good and the service is great. A must stop if you are in Market Common.

They have some really great Happy Hour drink and food specials, but they are only available in the bar/cocktail area. This is something the hostess failed to tell us when she asked where we would like to be seated. Seems silly that a table, literally, ten feet from the bar area isn’t eligible for the happy hour. BUT our server DID honor the Happy Hour prices, which we greatly appreciated. I had some sort of strawberry cocktail and it was delicious. I also tried a beer and it was great. I was just coming out of a 3 day meeting with horrible hotel food and I was really looking forward to a well cooked meal. We ordered some garlic fries to start. They were good but there was SOMUCH garlic. I am a garlic lover, but biting into that much minced garlic left a horrible taste in my mouth. I had to buy gum afterward just to remove the taste. I had the steak flatbread as my entrée. It cost around $ 14, I think? I was thinking it was so expensive because the steak, but when I received it, it probably had maybe 8 pieces of steak on it. The steak wasn’t even good either. It was fatty and some bites were inedible. You would think for so little steak and the price, that one would receive better quality. All other elements of the flatbread were ok. I wouldn’t recommend it when you order. Boyfriend got a burger with bacon jam and it looked fantastic. I was definitely having regrets for not ordering one. He said it was good, but for $ 12, he has had better. When it comes to drinks, this place knows what it is doing, but they could use some work on the food side. Possibly quit trying to make everything seem gourmet. That only works when you have good, quality ingredients that are cooked well. Overall, if your meeting friends for drinks, this is a great choice. Good drink specials and tasty concoctions. If you’re looking for a good dinner out… this just isn’t the place. The price is just too much for what’s on the menu. I’ve had better food for the value at Applebee’s, honestly.

Terrible service! From the first point of contact to us trying to sit at the bar and no one coming over to help us I would say that this would be a place that could be so great too. I’m my mind if I have a bad interaction right from the start it’s not going to be a good dining experience. Maybe if we decide to come back the initial service will be more positive and enough to even try the food.

Good beer and outstanding food. I’m a huge beer but but not the biggest fan of German beers. That being said I still really enjoyed their beer but the food pushed it to a 5 star rating.

The beers were great(would give 4 – 5 stars) but my mom and I each ordered the Crème brûlée and it came out absolutely disgusting. It tasted like a sweet stick of butter. very dense, nothing at all like it’s supposed to be. The caramel layer was minimal and the whole dessert was semi cold, which made me think it was pre-made, thrown in fridge, and just given to us when we ordered. I could barely take a few bites of it before giving up, and I’m certainly not the type to waste a Crème brûlée ever.

We had a lunch at Gordon Biersch. Great place in Myrtle Beach in beautiful Market Common. We were very pleased with beer and food too. This place was pretty busy. Service was attentive and friendly.

I play trivia here almost every week and have a good time, but the menu changes that have been made over the last year or so have not been for the better. The last time I ordered a burger and fries, I could count the number of fries. There were 11. The size of the burgers seem to have decreased so the patty doesn’t come close to the edge of the bun. My favorite dessert, the triple chocolate brownie, no longer has the chocolate swirl on top and has been replaced with cocoa powder and a mint leaf… sometimes. It’s not consistent. The last time I got the brownie it looked like the caramel drizzle had been watered down to make it stretch and the brownie was as flat as a pancake. Very disappointing. I hardly order it anymore because I’m disappointed every time. On the upside the staff is very friendly and it’s nice to come to a place every week where the waitress knows your drink order before you even ask.

Everything about this place is awesome! The host was great and explained everything about the different types of house made beers. Our server, Michael, then went into more detail about the beers and was very knowledgable about everything on the menu. We loved our experience and will definitely be returning!

I’ll keep it short and sweet. Beer was good. Kobe burgers were really good. Garlic fries smelled more like garlic than tasted like garlic. Service was really nice. I could imagine parking being tricky on a busy night or weekend since it is in Market Common.

I ate here for my boyfriends 21st birthday. Our server was absolutely excellent and upon hearing my boyfriend was going to order his first beer, he talked to the manager and got it for him on the house! He kept our glasses full and checked in on us routinely. I haven’t had such amazing, friendly service in a while! The food was also excellent — I tried southwest egg rolls and crab and artichoke dip. I am not a huge tex mex fan in general so I thought that I wouldn’t like the egg rolls, but they were actually delicious! I went back for seconds! The dip was good too — I have a feeling that everything on the menu would have been just fantastic. For my main meal I was feeling a burger and I don’t remember the name, but it was the best burger I’ve ever had in my life, swear to god. I will definitely be coming back here.

GB is becoming a must visit on my Myrtle Beach trips. It was late for dinner so we again went with an appetizer buffet. Crab artichoke dip, a cheese/beer soup, grilled vegetable salad, fresh dip sliders, fried calamari, and a grilled Mahi Mahi dinner with garlic spinach, and garlic mashed potatoes. The sliders were awesome, sliced in half fit perfectly in the Au Jus dipping sauce bowl. The crab artichoke dip was a nice change from the typical cheesy concoctions served around town. The Mahi Mahi dinner was perfectly cooked, juicy, and very filling. Been here twice, and already looking forward to next visit, check them out.,

From the very beginning this restaurant was amazing our waiter Joe gave us recommendations out of every category which let us to eat a gastropub burger and my Blackwood bourbon whiskey salmon. Joe also recommended a few beers one of which was a Hefeweizen and I can’t remember the other but they were both very very good. They have a selection of beer including the ones I had that are brewed in house. for dessert we had the bread pudding Apple something or another once again recommended by Joe and it was to die for our whole experience with this restaurant is definitely a 5 star rating at a two or three star price. we highly recommend for any tourist or even in towners to go in because it is such a great place. If I were you I would ask for Joe because he guided us through the whole menu as it was our first time.

I know that most people give this place 4 stars, but with our experience I think they deserve 5. We went on a Sunday evening. The waiter we had was VERY attentive to all of our needs. He kept remembering every thing we requested. … Trust me… Sometimes I can be high maintenance. He was very knowledgeable of the menu items and made a lot of good recommendations. I got the Pan Citrus Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus. My husband got the steak. I wanted one too, but had one the night before so I decided to go with something a little lighter. Another thing I like is they take reservations. That’s always helpful at the beach. Overall we had a great meal. They have a great beer selection too. They make their own. Looks like a great place for locals. I’m looking forward to returning!

Excellent beer. The prosciutto and Gorgonzola chips are so so good. They come with small Mushrooms and figs. Try them they, you be disappointed. Scenery is nice(people watching) and our server was great.

Alright, I’m gonna give you two reviews to choose from. The first is for those(like me) with a short attention span, «Oh, shiny things!» The second; a little more elaborate. Ready? Go! 1) Great place to grab a quick bite. If the weather is nice, sit outside and people-watch as you enjoy the beer sampler and the garlic fries from your shaded vantage point. This really is all you need if you’re just looking to rest your feet, try the beers and nibble. 2) Picking up where the ADD review left off. I can literally see this restaurant from my back door. That said, I’ve eaten here more times than I can count over the years. The inside is clean, organized and it’s a nice place for lunch/dinner. The food is good, but it’s not 5 star cousine. I mention this only to curtail expectations since some people have no idea what this place is about. Here’s a great way to size it up… Gordon Biersch is to Applebees what Target is to Wal-Mart. That’s it in a nutshell. The service is also comparable. Perfectly fine and certainly enjoyable, but nothing exceptional. Things can get a little busy in the summer so if you’re looking for something quiet, prepare yourself for the wait, crying babies and above average background noise. Sunburned tourists are a noisy breed! Let’s get to what matters. A lot of people initially visit for the beer. They do indeed produce their own quasi-German beer, here. I’ve noticed an on-line effort being made to advertise«craft beer.» Now, when I see«craft beer» advertised I instantly think variety; dozens of different drafts,(ales, lagers, stouts) multiple breweries to choose from, etc. If you’re looking for that sort of variety, keep in mind you’ll only find their(Gordon Biersch) brands here. This is limited to a half dozen or so plus the rotating seasonals. I actually don’t enjoy the beer here at all. In fact, every-single-time I’ve had more than 2 pints, I ended up with a brutal headache. No idea what that’s about?! In fairness, I’ve never cared for German beers. I’m an IPA guy and gravitate towards ‘hoppier’ Ales. Anyway, they occasionally offer the aforementioned seasonal that I enjoy more than others so be sure and ask the waitress if they have anything new. As I mentioned up top, if you’re just looking to try a few out, I suggest the beer paddle. You’ll get the Golden Export, Hefeweizen, Marzen, Czech and Schwarzbier. If you absolutely love one or more of them, they also offer growlers. EDIT: Just wanted to squeeze in a quick edit here. GB’s has recently added a few more beers to their line. I’m sure they’re on their website if you want to have a look. So, there ya have it. I’ll wrap things up with a couple quick suggestions. I’ve enjoyed the Alaskan Salmon on more than one occasion. The salads are all excellent and the veggie pizza is always a hit with friends. This restaurant is located in the popular«Market Common» area of Myrtle Beach. There’s plenty to do here so give yourself a little time to walk off dinner and relax while checking out the shops. There’s also a theater on the corner, making dinner and a movie terribly convenient. Have Fun! –Neil NOTE: If you enjoyed my review and you’d like more of the same on the Myrtle Beach area, be sure and follow me on Unilocal.Just go to the left and click under my name where it says, «Follow on Unilocal» and we’ll be buds!

I still stand by what I’ve said about the brews here(see below) and I recently came in for more than just drinks or maybe an app. My mom recently moved to Myrtle and after we finished for the day we were looking for dinner that didn’t have a drive thru. Gordon Biersch was still serving so we went in for dinner with a group of 5 adults and a child. When the first three of us arrived, we told them we had 3 more coming which was fine. They took a little longer than expected and the waitress started hinting that if they didn’t order by a specific time, that the kitchen would be closed. We weren’t trying to keep anyone there late but give me a break on a few minutes if that’s what it comes down to. After moving all day we were tired and beaten, not really in the mood for an expensive meal or fine dining. Not that this place is fine dining but, I was surprised at some of the prices on the menu. I was eying the tuna entrée but figured it wasn’t necessary and opted for the cheaper pasta entrée. The waitress told me they were out of pasta… what!?! How is that even possible? After being put on the spot to change my mind, I scrambled and went back to the tuna. I didn’t even look again at the menu and asked what came with it. She said the quinoa and kale salad and a side. I went with the grilled veggies. When my dish came out, it was missing the veggies. I think that maybe it didn’t come with a side in the first place but I was going off of what she said. They corrected the issue and brought out a huge side of veggies. They were a bit late but they fixed the issue. For the price I felt like the amount of tuna was a little light but it was tasty. Nobody seemed to have any other issues with their food and the service, although a little off, was pleasant. As I outlined in my last review of this spot, it’s not a bad place, it’s just not a great one either.
