Description

Specialties

We are a YOGA studio open to all levels of practitioners. We offer over 50 yoga classes per week. We also offer NIA dance classes and lots of featured workshops and special events each month. Check out our website to see all our events or subscribe to our e-newsletter to stay informed. We also have the most beautiful boutique around! Unique items come and go in our shop, so if you see it, you better get it! We might not have it again.

Enjoy your time at YOGA in COMMON. You can sit in our lobby and read or visit with others and enjoy a cup of tea, or just sit quietly and listen to the sound of water splashing in a tiered fountain. Our purpose is to offer respite from the hustle and bustle of your daily world and to offer excellent yoga instruction that will take you from wherever you entered on the mat to a place of greater centeredness and peace by the time you finish your practice. Namaste.

History

Established in 2009.

YOGA in COMMON is a work in progress, always. It is the product of the loving efforts of so many to build it, sustain it, enrich it. Our students continuously bring love into the space and take love back out with them; there seems to be no end to the energy we exchange with one another. YOGA in COMMON was created because Linda had an idea and Angelique Grant said «Yes, I will move to Myrtle Beach and help you build this vision of a yoga studio that is all about community.» Later, Angel became credentialed as a Yoga Alliance-certified Teacher Trainer & set up Vinyasa Yoga Teacher trainings to help grow our yoga teacher community. The ripple effects of this effort have spawned at least two other yoga studios in the Grand Strand area. We are grateful to Angel for her love and powerful hugs! We are also grateful to all those students who have been growing with us from our first tiny location, to our two locations, to our now «just right» location with two studios & a large boutique.

Meet the Business Owner

Linda P.

Business Owner

Linda has an on-going interest in the well-being of others as she has been a teacher of special needs students for years, but she never imagined that she would open a yoga studio nor that the studio would be the hub of so many wonderful yoga classes, wellness workshops, and inspirational events all focused on raising awareness of greater personal potential and peacefulness. Running a yoga studio is a daily dedication, year round. But the benefits outweigh the work and the end result is a beautiful, fulfilling experience day after day. YOGA in COMMON continues to attract others who want to share ideas about wellness, health, and healing; we are fortunate to be able to host so many wonderful events in addition to our on-going yoga classes taught by very dedicated and creative teachers. Our teachers are serious about yoga, but not about themselves, so the YIC atmosphere is friendly, lively, & welcoming, even to those brand new to yoga. This is the vision from 2009 that continues today.
