Signature Hardwood Floors is a local, family owned, Green Certified, completely insured, bonded and licensed hardwood flooring contractor providing exceptional workmanship to the Peninsula, since 1995. Our crew takes special care in maintaining clean and safe job sites, and all of our crew are our employees, not subs.

I am committed to encouraging clients toward conscious lifestyle practices by providing eco-friendly products. We believe the basic foundation of sustainable business is making mindful decisions that consider environmental impacts. Signature Hardwood Floors continues to seek out products that possess, at a minimum, at least one of the following attributes: FSC-Certified/sustainably harvested, 100% Reclaimed/Salvaged, Pre-Consumer Recycled Content, locally produced, no or low VOC, formaldehyde free, and supportive of the global community’s health.

History

Established in 1995.

My wife and I started Signature Hardwood Floors in 1995 with two employees, and have since grown in many areas. What we’re most passionate about and currently committed to, is encouraging clients toward conscious lifestyle practices by providing eco-friendly products. We became a Certified Green Building Professional through Build-it-Green in 2007.

Just had the best service ever from Signature. Bryant came out personally to look at some water damage to our floor in the kitchen. He examined it carefully with a moisture meter, and then gave me the best news: that it needs to dry out and would likely settle on its own! And if it’s not fully level after a few months, they can sand it. Definitely not the ‘rip out and replace’ that I’d been led to expect from others would be needed. He refused payment for the visit, and was on-time and friendly throughout. I won’t call anyone else if we do end up needing work done. It’s so nice to meet someone honest and not interested in the upsell.

Bryant Busalacchi (owner) came to our home to give me an estimate to fix our hardwood floor due to water damage. Bryant took the moisture content of the damaged floor and advised to let it sit for another two months. Bryant stated he would come back out and check the moisture content again. Bryant felt the floor would settle and no repairs would be required. Bryant stayed for over 30 minutes explaining the entire process and answering all of our questions. Bryant then advised us again he felt the floor would settle and no repair would be required. Bryant was very professional and prompt.

I went with Signature due to their impressive recommendation list even though they weren’t the cheapest. The flooring was 2″ red oak strip, very typical of 50 year old houses in the area. This installation was to match my already existing 2 inch strip floors that were original to the house.
They installed the raw wood itself very well. The issue I had was with the finishing of this raw wood after it was sanded down. They did 3 coats over several days, and after it cured almost a week, it had significant embedded particulate matter in the finish. Bryant agreed this was not right, and had his guys refinish it again. After this second time it still had just as much embedded particulate matter. A third attempt was made, and the results were still the same. I gave up after this since it was obvious the company did not have the experience to finish a raw wood floor in a house that has significant air movement during the course of the day. I will have to go with the company that refinished the existing floors about 15 years ago to get a finish that is as particulate free like the existing floors. I did verify that after sanding the floor was smooth before they applied the polyurethane. I received no apology nor partial refund. I am very disappointed and will not use them again. I would be very wary if you want them to lay an unfinished wood floor and apply the finish after it is laid.

Signature Hardwood installed a beautiful white oak floor, sanded and finished in place, throughout our new condo. We originally got bids from several firms to install pre-finished red oak. Signature Hardwood was competitive, We opted to go for the more expensive white oak, sanded and finished in place, option. we did not get other bids, but have no reason to believe that SH’ price was not competitive.
Bryant Busalacchi’ was highly professional in formulating his proposals and supervising his team. They were punctual, competent and efficient and very good-natured and cooperative in working alongside other craftsmen all working to get the place ready on a very tight schedule.
The work was done on schedule and turned out beautifully. The floors are awesome.
Based on our excellent experience, we recommended SH to our son and daughter-in-law, who had them refinish the hardwood floors in their house. They were equally pleased with the work.

Bryant and his team came in to refinish my hardwood floors, that have been covered with carpet for over 20 years. they did a wonderful job!
the team was neat, professional and kind, they did everything to ensure the mess would not spread all over the house, and actually finished a day earlier!

I had Bryant and his team come in and pull out the carpet and put in hardwood floors. They had been covered in carpet for at least 60 years. They were very neat clean and you would have never known they were untouched covered by carpet for 60+ years. Bryant was knowledgeable about the process and I chose his company because he not only came highly recommended, but he also has high quality work and coats more than other companies that I called. My only regret is that I should have done the rest of the house! I think I’ll be calling him again soon.

We’ve been searching for a couple of years to find someone we trusted to install (float) engineered hardwood floors on our concrete slab foundation. We interviewed and solicited bids from many firms. Finally we asked the firm that installed our kitchen tile (The Tile and Grout King) who they recommend. They pointed us the direction of Signature Hardwood Floors and we are so glad they did.
We felt Bryant was very timely and professional in giving us the bids and final invoice. He provided us a couple of options on how to do this project. His bid was slightly higher but we felt that we’d get better workmanship from his firm than the competing bids.
We ultimately decided to supply most of our materials ourselves and just have Bryant’s team do the labor. However we got stuck when it came to selecting the best underlayment. Bryant went out of his way to pick up underlayment samples and drop it by the house for us to review. A big time saver.
And Bryant’s crew was remarkable. Juan (the foreman) went above the call of duty when I forgot to get a quarter round to go around our built-in entertainment unit. He went and picked up a quarter round and stained it to match our entertainment center. It was a perfect match.
The workmanship was impeccable. And my husband (engineer) is super picky and even he was pleased.
In a couple of years when we are ready to do the bedrooms we plan on hiring Bryant’s team again.

Signature Hardwood Floors was first referred to us by a high-profile realtor many years ago. Quality, speed, budget, good communication and professionalism are all important factors when hiring a subcontractor or selecting a company to refinish your own floors. We’ve done many, many projects with them and each one has been a success.
The owners of this company are conscientious and extremely good at running their business and training and supervising their staff. They arrive when they say they will, do great work, and there are no surprises.
They were among the first to have Certified Green Building Professionals on the Peninsula, an important consideration because of the sustainability and indoor air quality issues related to flooring.
We hired Signature Hardwood Floors to do the floors in our CEO’s own green home, and they turned out beautifully. We highly recommend Signature Hardwood Flooring as a superb company, no matter how large or small the job.

Bryant and his team did a fantastic job! As we entered into the business arrangement Bryant explained the process. Bryant committed to having the project complete within 3 days, left the job at the end of each day cleaned up and arrived for every appointment/start time on time.
