Jose Vargas Handyman

When you open your door for Jose don’t be surprised if you see a faint halo hanging above his head … I have officially ‘sainted’ him. I made a frantic call to him a little after 7am this week when I was unable to close my front door to get to work. Within 15 minutes Jose arrived and started working to remedy the situation. He saved me from being late to an important meeting. I can’t believe how thoughtful and sensitive he was to my stress-​filled call. He was able to locate the problem and get it fixed. I highly recommend Jose!

Always a pleausre to work with Jose. His team is extremely quick and efficient.

Very disappointed. Jose was very friendly on the phone and in person. It surprised me when he actually showed up to view the scope of work; however not much after that. I had to send multiple emails for the quote and even when I indicated I wanted to hire him, multiple emails were sent attempting to schedule the job. After hearing a number of times that he had been out of the country, he asked «me» to call him.
End of story. I’m guessing that if your job is not big enough or in Mountain View, Palo Alto, Danville and some other prestigious city, it’s not worth his time, since he kept rattling off all the well off cities he had done work in.
Jose was a referral from my employer, so I had higher expectations; which was my mistake.
I have reached out to a number of «referred» contractors and handymay, none of which have been professional enough to follow through.
Work in the Bay Area is certainly not lacking and I suppose my money is not as green as others.

Jose is incredible. My wife and I are pretty skeptical when we feel like someone is sounding overly optimistic about their ability to hit a tight deadline, deliver quality work, and hit budget expectations. Jose did all three and came through with flying colors, delivering nothing short of excellence. Very knowledgeable guy and a great communicator, he has quite a breadth of experience and expertise. Highly recommend.

After promising a scheduled visit Jose did not show up to quote. I sent a text as follow up but did not receive a response.
He’s warm and friendly on the phone. +1 star.

I contacted Jose based on the Unilocal reviews and he did not disappoint! He and his team worked quickly and coordinated with me for the return trips to complete the job. He fixed a leak in my upstairs shower and repaired the ceiling tile underneath it. When he was finished, I couldn’t even tell anything was done. Even the ceiling pattern matched! He is friendly, honest, and explains everything to you. I will definitely be contacting him in the future.

I tried calling this business based on excellent Unilocal reviews; but was very disappointed. I left a couple of messages which were not returned and when I called one last time, someone picked up the phone and simply hung up.
A courteous «sorry, we are very busy –cannot accomodate» would have sufficed. This was just plain rude and a waste of time.

Jose is professional and great to work with. I had a condo that needed a dry wall patch and the entire place painted. They did all the work quickly and professionally at a great price. Will use his services again!

Jose is the the best. Don’t even think about using another handyman. He is honest, ethical, and just a great great guy.
He has been working for us for 4 years or so.
Jose does every job perfectly — from cleaning the gutters to power-​washing the house to various drywall patches, small plumbing work. You name it — and he can do it.
His prices are fair and you know that when you hire him you get a honest day’s work every time.

Jose Vargas is not only a fantastic handyman, but very courteous, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, good-​natured, trust-​worthy, responsive and has great attention-​to-​detail. To top it off, his hourly rate is very reasonable. He can do just about anything. I can count on Jose to fix pretty much anything in my house in a professional and tidy manner. He has great attention to detail and is definitely someone you can trust with your home. He’s been my handyman for 5 years now and is now the handyman for all of our friends. He’s that good! He’s made my life easier. To top it off, he’s very friendly, courteous, non-​intrusive, and not hard on the pocket book. If you have kids in the house, he doesn’t mind if they’re in the way. He’s very friendly.
