Hobby Lobby

Picture a Michael’s on steroids and that’s what Hobby Lobby is.
It’s a crafter’s heaven, an inventors paradise, and a teacher’s great escape! Aisles and aisles of fun and wonderful items await you. If you need it, they’ve got it. If they don’t have it, then try Amazon! They have everything from fabric, to canvases, to bedroom décor and really interesting pieces to hang. The floral section has these really cool, huge, almost Alice in Wonderland-​y flowers. I’ve always wanted to buy them, but I don’t really have much of a purpose besides admiring them :)
This place is huge, no doubt. This particular location is never busy, residing in quiet ol’ Morgan Hill. You need to devote at least an hour in here if it’s your first time. You’ll want to see everything! Don’t blink you might miss something! The prices are great, almost unbeatable. They also have coupons on their mobile site (usually 40%), which doesn’t apply to sale items. However, there are always things on sale! I’ve come here where Michael’s has fallen short. Employees are pretty kind. Many times when I find an item I really want that’s damaged, they’ll discount it. Their seasonal section is so exciting because they have décor that you never knew existed for that particular season. (Christmas is the best!). I cannot wait to see what they have for the 4^th of July. Only downfall is that they’re closed on Sundays, but I don’t mind a day off from crafting. :P

I like the items they sell. The fact that the store is laid out by hobbies and themes is very helpful. There lines are ALWAYS long. It’s really inconvenient. Customer service is just okay.

First let it be known that this place has a huge selection of stuff. It’s a really big store and they have something for everyone. I’m big into cars and building. Stuff and this place has car and airplane models. Rockets and a ton of art stuff. They also have alot of memorbella which I I really liked. Like old car brand memorbella like Texaco and old oil brands.

Horrible management. I bought a framed picture here in August just before my daughter was born and it hung over her changing table until February the thing fell apart (the hanging hardware it came with ripped from the frame). Luckily my daughter was not on the changing table when it happened or we could have had a bigger issue. I immediately brought it back to exchange for a new one or replace it with something similar. The young ladies that assisted me were very kind, professional and apologetic. When they called Caroline over for assistance I was shocked at how rude and demeaning she was to both the employees and I. Caroline never apologized for the inconvenience but instead said that since I didn’t bring the receipt (why would I save it if I planned on keeping it?) she would only apply 50% of the price toward the «return». First of all, this was clearly a defective product, not a «return». I would not have gone out of my way to bring it back if it didn’t fall apart. She wanted to give me HALF the retail price and charge me the FULL price of the same item, without even offering one of their discount coupons. The way she handled the situation was extremely juvenile and she was argumentative the entire time. I later spoke to a male supervisor (Glen?) about the experience and he seemed less than interested. Pretty disappointed in the management of this branch when the company is so open about their values.
Side note: While I was in line I overheard Caroline indiscreetly say to an employee, «don’t ask if the customer needs to make a ‘return’. Call it an ‘exchange’ to turn it back around on them.» WOW.

Ok, so Im not the crafty kind of person but this place is banging yo! They have a million things to choose from. Anything from cool nick nacks to stuff you can use to build your next life sized iron man suit.
the staff is nice, dont really interact with them unless I need to get pointed in the right direction. When I do ask them, they are nice about it. One thing that people will notice is the price, a lot of the time the retail cost of an item may be a little higher than you expected. This isnt an issue because they are always running promotions and accept coupons. Seriously, look for a coupon and thank me later… with a bag of marbles you got 50% because of a coupon.
Once I my free time exceeds the time required to be a couch potato, I will continue on with my hobbies and will come to the hobby lobby first.

This place is one of the coolest stores I’ve been in. So much fun stuff that took me back to my childhood. Henry was also extremely helpful and very courteous. He helped me and my brother pick out some cool comic stuff for our new place and even helped get us a discount using the website. Henry was very pleasant and very knowledgable on products and prices. Glad he helped out! My brother and I promised to bring him a drink next time we stop by, hopefully we catch him again in case we need any more help!

They don’t have any of my hobbies. How can you call it hobby lobby, I’d rather go to Gilroy hobby. And the manager is very judgmental. Not a good first impression.

Ran into this place for the first time, and I mean literally ran in and out because I had my 12-​year-​old son with me. He wanted poster board for a project and that was it. So as crummy as that was we were in the store for 8 mins tops. From just walking from the front of the store to the back wall I saw so many different varieties of crafts and some of the cutest home décor.
I really didn’t think prices were over the top for what they offer. The employee who checked us out came right over to open a new lane as soon as we became second line, this too contributed to us leaving so quick, great customer service.
I don’t think you can go wrong with this store.

This store is always clean and organized and if they lines are to long they will have someone open up another line. I love the fact that they have such a large selection of items.

Staff is always polite and helpful. Great prices and deals. Just wish it was a little closer to home.

This place has the CUTEST stuff ever! I didn’t know which isle to walk down because every which way I looked I wanted to go to right away.
Hobby Lobby is pretty similar to Jo-Ann’s and Michaels but way bigger and way more selection! I mean this store is huuugggee! You can also go online to find 40% off coupons on one regular priced item.

Never the same store twice! There is always new and fun things to look at. The ap makes it easy to same money when something is not on sale and we love the cake decorating selection!

I have never been to a hobby lobby and stumbled onto it. Wow! I have been missing out. This place is great. Tons of crafts and fabrics. Will be back.

I wish they would take some time and hire better workers. This is a Christian based business after all. The workers seem disgruntled and aren’t helpful at all. They always seem over worked pre-​occupied. If
They hired friendly people, I would have given this review 5 stars. Also, don’t try to return anything, they’re not very nice about returns.

This Hobby Lobby is huge!!! I love coming to Hobby Lobby for my arts and crafts. I run an etsy store so it has great use for me here. I only wish they opened one up closer to San Jose. We have to travel quite a ways just to come to this location which is the only one remotely close to the area. Coupons are useful as well!

This a great place to go for home décor.
It always feels peaceful in the store. Never super crowded. I love that they play instrumental praise music in the store and that they sell things that have Bible verses and quotes.
They have great sales and maintain a clean look.

WOW. I wish there was a Hobby Lobby in Marin. This is the first time I have ever been to Hobby Lobby but I was very impressed. I did not get to look at everything I wanted to because of time constraints, but one, I did spend more time in there then I had, two I spent more money in there then I should have and I wanted to buy more stuff.
The selection was great, it had so many things for projects that I had been planning forever but could never find the right items for it I go to Hobby Lobby and bam they are there!
The store is huge and a a dream for crafty, artsy, hobby, project people. I like it way more the Michaels. The customer service was very friendly and as fast as she could be but they do not have hand scanners so they need to key in the items.
As far as the controversy, its his company, his rules. If you do not like it work somewhere else. People love freedom of speech& religion as long as they agree with it, but as soon as they dont, they try and force you to be like them or lynch you or try and destroy your business. Its not like he is killing babies people, get a grip.

I know that there’s a ton of controversy about Hobby Lobby right now in regards to their founder David Green’s religious beliefs and Federal Law. I knew prior to this controversy is that HL is a conservative Christian-​based retailer and isn’t open on Sundays but hadn’t been there.
Anyway, I am open to hearing about the beliefs of others and I also like hobbies so I decided to go here to see what this place was all about. Without prejudice of the store or the staff.
First of all, I didn’t combust into flames upon entering Hobby Lobby, so that was promising.
Second of all, it’s GIGANENORMOUS. It’s by far the hugest craft and hobby store I’ve ever been in. It’s like a mega-​mega-​MEGA store. The selection is dizzying. I mean incredibly vast. There’s even a man-​centric area that focuses in on he-​gifts that I found really kind of awesome. It’s like a testosterone haven for the husbands that are dragged in by their crafty wives.
Thirdly, the staff were really nice, no one seemed upset or like they hated their jobs. They seemed a little bit guarded, so I didn’t know if people were giving them a hard time lately or if protesters frequent the store. Not sure. But it never seemed like they were unhappy. To me, at least.
I spent a whopping $ 14 here on a few things (one was on sale and one was with a 40% off coupon that I printed out before coming here) and left. Would have perused the store much further but I had my daughter with me.
It must have been a religious-​based company sort of day because I had lunch at In-​N-​Out not much later.
