SAC’s Gallery is a Montgomery, Alabama Art Gallery dedicated to furthering Regional Art through education and community outreach.
We provide a forum for regional artisans to showcase their original work and provide information and education in the arts to the public.
Our institution is a non-profit, 501 © 3 charitable organization recognized by the State of Alabama.
Our «Society» is often referred to as «SAC’s», a nickname derived from the acronym for «Society of Arts and Crafts».
Our Mission
SAC’s is committed to the advancement of art education and art appreciation for all ages and stages of life.
The society actively pursues this goal by:
1) Offering art and craft classes
2) Sponsoring art and craft demonstrations to organizations such as schools, nursing homes, and other civic organizations and clubs
3) Sponsoring art shows and art competitions
4) Promoting regional art
5) Providing regional artists and artisans with an outlet to present their work through SAC’s Gallery, our non-profit, co-op art gallery
History
Established in 1974.
SAC’s was started by a group of regional artists and craftsmen in Montgomery, Alabama and the Montgomery River Region. Five years later they opened SAC’s Gallery.
The goals of the Society were, and still are, to provide a forum for regional artisans to showcase their original work and provide information and education in the arts to the public.
Meet the Manager
Ladonna I.
Manager
Ladonna is President of SAC’s Art Gallery.
In 1991 she earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and Development from Webster University, St Louis, MO.
She spent over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and was fortunate to travel many places in the world during that time-frame.
Always a «dabbler» in art, she started seriously collaborating on unique stained glass pieces in the mid-1980s.
Since retiring from the Air Force Ladonna has been participating in the Visual Arts program at Auburn Montgomery (AM), Alabama. Subsequently, she is increasingly being recognized for her work in other mediums. Her paintings and sculpture are being shown in art galleries in Selma, Prattville, and Montgomery, Alabama. She actively participates in competitions and shows.
