This informal gallery in Montgomery, Alabama is open anytime, by appointment, and is filled with masterpieces by many self-​taught artists whose works and creative methods are often shaped by available found materials and isolated lifestyles, placing them outside the mainstream of academic art. A special focus for the gallery is Contemporary Folk and Outsider Art from throughout the United States. Marcia Weber has enjoyed a close relationship with many artists in this field while actively collecting and marketing their art for more than thirty years. The gallery presents exhibitions in many other locations, Chicago, New York and Atlanta. It is a good idea to phone ahead so that the Montgomery gallery can be open for you whenever you wish to visit.

History

Established in 1991.

This gallery has always been known as the premier Alabama source for Contemporary Folk and Outsider Art. The Montgomery location has never moved from Old Cloverdale since its beginning. Exhibitions from California to New York and Chicago to Atlanta have been presented by the gallery during its twenty-​three years of business.

Business Owner

Marcia Weber has enjoyed a life long interest in the visual arts and received a BFA Degree in Studio Painting from Birmingham-​Southern College. For the last 23 years she has owned and operated a gallery, Marcia Weber Art Objects, Inc. in Montgomery, Alabama. The gallery is filled with masterpieces by self-​taught artists. She has presented numerous exhibitions in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Chicago among other cities. Marcia Weber has actively documented self-​taught artists and their work for more than thirty years, providing lectures at several museums, including the American Folk Art Museum in New York, The High Museum in Atlanta, The Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, Alabama, The Rye Art Center, Rye, NY, the Wiregrass Museum in Dothan, Alabama and at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery, Alabama. She has been interviewed on National Public Radio twice and is passionate about promoting this field while actively collecting and marketing the art of self-​taught
