Originally from New York, Dr. Zewert graduated from Yale University as a National Merit Scholar with high honors and a master’s degree at age 20. He also found time to be active in several community groups and head The Yale Record (America’s oldest college humor magazine.)
Before heading to medical school, he received a Ph.D. in chemistry and biophysics at the California Institute of Technology where he was later on the faculty. «There I worked with Nobel Prize winner Dr. Robert Grubbs, and I patented several materials that are more like the body’s own tissue (more natural) than presently available implants for, breast, facial, and body surgery.» «Later at Harvard Med., I fell in love with surgery and patented several techniques that can be used with skin surgery and skin treatments.»
Dr. Zewert received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and thereafter completed an integrated residency at the world-renowned Plastic Surgery Department at the University of Pittsburgh
