Vision Cafe Optical Options

Took in some vintage frames. Some places won’t deal with them, like Costco. Jerry was happy to help, gave me the usual these could break statement like anyone worth their salt should, one perfect pair of glasses later and half the price I’ve paid in the past. Very happy, won’t go anywhere else for lenses for my vintage frames!

I was looking for a place close by that can put transition lenses into my RayBan RB2132 sunglasses frames. It was hard to find a place that would do it because the frames are actually meant for sunglasses, but Jerry at Vision Café made it possible! Jerry is a very down to earth guy, very easy to talk to and he truly wants every customer to leave satisfied with their purchase. He can usually do glasses lenses within a day if he has your prescription in stock. For name brand lenses or people who have high astigmatism like me, it would take a couple of days for the lens to be ordered, but Jerry is able to speed up the process by cutting the lens at his own lab.
I went to Jerry’s store (Carol and Jerry are business partners, but usually Jerry is at the store now) after reading all the positive reviews and I left as a very happy customer. I specially wanted transition lenses that were green, similar to the original g-​15 lenses that came with the sunglasses. Jerry spent the time explaining to me the different types of transitions available as well as, quoting me on various prices. His prices are some of the best that I have seen around the area (including costco)! My transition lenses needed to be custom made due to my high astigmatism and the lens color being green (which was only offered by one lens manufacturer). Jerry quoted me a reasonable price and told me it would probably take two weeks to receive my glasses. To my amazement, a few days later, I get a text from Jerry telling me my glasses were ready for pickup! Jerry expedited the process by ordering the lens and cutting it himself and I am truly in awe at how great it turned out. Thank you Jerry! I will definitely return for another pair of glasses or maybe even sunglasses in the future!
Oh ya and just a quick mention, the store hours is actually 11 am — 6 pm monday-​saturday or you can text or call Jerry at (310) 251 — 7032 to see if he can accommodate you somehow. I met with him on Sunday because of my busy schedule!

I had a wonderful experience with Jerry here. I was looking for an optical shop that would accommodate my high prescription for a reasonable price. I am so relieved I stumbled upon the Groupon page for this store! Although I didn’t end up using the Groupon, I definitely found myself a deal.
My prescription is pretty high (about –9 and –8) with an astigmatism. That being said, lenses for my glasses are bound to be thick, so I was looking for a new prescription with a high index (1.74) lens so they wouldn’t be so obviously thick. Many shops out in LA seem to charge $ 400+ for high index lenses alone, which was a hard blow to my wallet. Needless to say, I was very relieved when I was quoted for less than $ 300 for my high index Seiko lenses. Jerry was very friendly, responsive, and accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this shop, and I look forward to returning when I need my next pair of glasses.
The shop is small and has an assortment of frames mixed in with salsa dancing shoes, as the owners double as salsa dancing teachers. Their website is outdated, offering a promo for a 15% discount if you bring in the flyer by August 2008. They are not licensed to perform eye exams, so be sure to bring your own prescription and feel free to bring your own frames. They also outsource the lens crafting, so it takes a few days for your order to be completed, but my frames were ready in 3 days. They are not licensed to order contact lenses, so do not expect them to fill your contact lens prescriptions.
Although I had a great experience with Jerry and I love my new glasses, I have to deduct a star because unlike most (if not all) optical shops I’ve been to, they do not have a bathroom stocked for a contact lens change (like spare contact lens cases or contact solution). Their aforementioned outdated website, and their hours of operation are not as they are advertised on their website or their Unilocal page, so I would advise calling ahead of time to make sure they’re open. Jerry was kind enough to stay later than he’d planned to meet with me, but I wouldn’t have known this if I didn’t call ahead of time, which can be confusing and inconvenient to any new customer.
There is a parking lot with a homeless man around back, and plenty of residential and metered parking in the area. They accept credit cards and complete your transaction with Square on a tablet, so your receipt will be emailed to you (go green!).

The guy name jerry is great very nice and helpful.
It take only one hour for me to replace my eye glasses lens. Very fast and the price is cheap only $ 84 for poly fiber glass other place charge me $ 100 and more and need to wait 5 – 7 days. Here is fast and easy get it right away. Highly recommended

I am very satisfy with my glasses with the work and the price. I got my glasses in the same day I ordered. They have in house lab, so they could make glasses with in a few hrs. The technician is very knowledgeable with his works and it is very friendly environment. The price is very cheap compare with other optical stores. I definitely come back and highly recommend to friends. They have a great selection of brandname frames and sunglasses.

An affordable place to buy lenses if you need them, which is especially nice if you’re a student like me. Jerry is a really friendly guy and was willing to work out a possible deal should I needed to change my lenses again within a short span of time. Since the lenses are made in the shop there’s good chance you might not even have to wait that long to have them made.

After receiving a pair of mail ordered glasses, I should have known better because soon after the package arrived I ended up looking up local optical options and stumbled across this local gem. Was warmly welcomed by Carol who very graciously helped me find my best optical options.
Felt like I was at Ollivanders Wand Shop as Carol worked her glasses magic and found a frame that fit my same mail ordered lenses. Bam!
Will definitely be going back!

My family Loves Carol and Jerry. They have been there for our Family vision since 2007. Never went anywhere else for our lens or frames since 2007. Always has our best interest in mind. I have a rather large head and Carol finds a way to make sure the frames I pick fit right and don’t squeeze the sides. She knows which lens will fit curved frames. I have some prescription Spy’s and because they wrap around slightly she was able to make it work. I get compliments on them and people state I thought it couldn’t be done. We recommend Vision Café for her knowledge and Customer Service Skills. Thank you Carol!

I got my glasses from this store couple months ago. It’s $ 400 something. I’m ok with that price because I trust Carol will give me a pair of wonderful glasses. And I also believe that a $ 400 glasses will be a good one.
BUT…Since the day I got my glasses, it is SO uncomfortable! I keep going back to the store and adjust it for 7 OR 8 TIMES!!! It hurts my ears and keep falling down, how can I wear it!!!
Now I know the design of glasses is TOTALLY not suitable for my to wear. Carol knew it but she still persuaded me to buy it.
NOW I AM VERY VERY REGRET for buying this glasses, I will NEVER EVER go back again.

I have been with the same optical shop for over 4 years. They have a wide selection of modern looking glasses and is not expensive at all. I went to many shops in the area but doesn’t make her prices. She is very knowledgeable about glasses and fitting. Carol is so friendly and funny. I’ve come to know her as a very honest person and also a friend over the years. Vision Café gives you a one-​to-​one personal service and there’s no need to go to any other place for quick and fast service!

Carol show me different options on the frames and styles that fit my face but most of them won’t fit. So she order me an Oakley frame to my liking. She gave me a reasonable price that most place would not do. She is extremely friendly and helpful. I am never going back to Costco for my glasses anymore.

I had a pair of Prada glasses adjusted at Vision Café in Monterey Park, and I was blown away by the personalized service I received by Carol. Little things like providing me with a case, giving me a little cloth to wipe them down and making sure I was absolutely happy with the way they fit on me… I usually do my shopping in Burbank (where I am from) but I am really glad I did my research and found this charming little place to fix my glasses. Two thumbs up!

Vision Café Optical Options (VCOO) ROCKS because Carol is wonderful! I checked around for reasonable prices for my new Kate Spade sunglasses since they were huge and round and other places kept telling me it’d be a price I couldn’t afford to make them prescription. Then, I found Carol and she quoted me a very reasonable price and she was the sweetest lady I’ve ever encountered at all the nearby Chinese optometrist offices. I used to go to the eyeglasses store on Atlantic /​Portal Place– no more!!!
I got my glasses and was VERY SATISFIED with Carol’s work and she made every effort to adjust the frame to fit my face perfectly.
**The only concern I have is that a bit of the glass is sticking out (small sliver) on my left hand side of the frame. I need to go back and ask Carol if she can fix this since I’m afraid it might cut my cheek. Small detail.

Local optical store with an in house lab for lenses. Extremely nice personels, NO pressured sales, and you can get your prescripted glasses within the same day since they have the lab. Pricing is very reasonable compared to other optical places.
Great selections of name brand eyewear (i.e. Fendi, Calvin Kleins, Versace, Prada, Dolce & Gabanna, Bulgari, Salvatore Ferragamo, Takumi, etc.). They also have a great selection of generic eyewear.
In addition, they carry all sorts of eyewear. Including Sunglasses, Prescripted Sunglasses, Prescripted swimming goggles, etc.
The best part of this place is that they offer salsa lessons on Fridays and weekends.
