Ric is the owner and operator of Ric Moore Golf at Monterey Park Golf Club in Monterey Park, CA, located just 10 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. An award-​winning PGA Professional with more than 27 years coaching experience, Ric emphasizes solid fundamentals (no band-​aid approaches) and making the game fun for golfers of all ages and abilities

The 2015 Southern California PGA Metropolitan Chapter Horton Smith Award winner for his outstanding and continuing contributions to professional education, Ric is also a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach. His additional certifications include TrackMan (Level 2) and AimPoint Express, as well as Eyeline Golf’s 4 Putting Elements.

Ric previously served as the Director of Golf at Chevy Chase Country Club in Glendale, CA, and Head Golf Professional at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley. A graduate of Cal State Fullerton, he began his coaching career in 1985 as a 3rd Assistant Golf Professional at Annandale Golf Club in nearby Pasadena. He also serv

Ric is a great instructor. He worked with my swing and strengths while implementing minor tweaks and adjustments to make my shots more consistent. Ric is very knowledgable of the game and a great coach. Highly recommend his lesson if you want to improve your game.

I took a couple lessons with Ric and have to say, he’s the best pro I’ve ever worked with. Instead of trying to create an ideal swing, he worked with what I had and made incremental improvements. I’ve worked with him for both long game and short game and he helped immensely for both areas. He also provided easily replicable drills to aid in practice. AND ABOVE ALL, he didn’t force rebooking. He wants you to create muscle memory for new changes before you move forward, creating a foundation to build on.

Prior to meeting Ric he was quick to respond to my inquires and right away I knew he would be attentive. On the recommendation from a golf buddy, who regularly beats me like a drum. I went and had a lesson with Ric at Monterey Park Golf. All I can say is WOW. I had a few lessons from various pros over the years and Ric, by far, has been the best lesson I’ve had.
In a clear, concise, and friendly way, Ric was able clear up some nagging issues (trouble hitting woods, and bothersome hook), almost instantly, that have been plaguing me for years. I left the lesson with a ton more confidence, and some new skills that I can’t wait to use in my next round.

Ric is so patient and helpful. I felt at ease and very comfortable with Ric. After just a few lessons, my form really improved. I have taken lessons from other instructors before but never saw much improvement in my game. Ric is definitely the best golf instructor I’ve ever worked with. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Ric is a wonderful teacher that is both patient and extremely knowledgeable. Typically my instructors (outside my own dad) have either been really good, but unpleasant, or really pleasant but not so helpful.
Ric’s work with my swing honed in the key issues keeping me from the green, leaving my performance much more consistent. His history with course pro work and with the PGA is impressive enough, but his dedication to teaching that game is something I’ve been really lucky to take advantage of. — Thanks Ric!
