So the business opens at 8 am… I was there from 7:50 am until 8:15 am. I had to get my suit tailored for my interview at 1 in the afternoon so I was in a rush. The business opens at 8 am and I was there since 7:50am waiting until 8:15 am very unprofessional, maybe you should open later if you can’t even open on time.

A man has replied to my comment and I am only saying what has happened and even by the time I had driven by at 8:46am still was closed. So fuck you old man.

After walking out of this place, I actually felt like crying! I needed help with my daughter’s prom dress… it was too long and she was freaking out. The woman working barely looked up when I walked into the tiny shop. Trust me, it’s so small in there that there is no way she missed me. After literally standing in the doorway holding the dress in my arms for 6 or 7 minutes, she finally got up and came over. She asked me, «what do you want done?» and before I was even finished telling her, she said, «that’s impossible. I can’t fix it.» She turned and went back to her sewing machine. I stood there with my mouth hanging open. I didn’t ask her to magically make me a whole new dress… just to take off some material from the bottom and hem it! I was so shocked at her abrupt dismissal that I got back in my car close to tears. She was very rude and I felt that from the moment I walked in, she had no intention on helping me. I have lived in Monrovia for years and have always pased by this cute little shop. I’m sorry I ever stopped there. I’d recommend you drive right past and go somewhere where they will actually treat you like you matter.

I have had consistently good service, on-​time at a reasonable price. Highly recommend

I’m Jerry Avalos and I’m extremely happy with my service today and the service that I got from Rosie herself. at Rosie’s tailoring… I had called several other tailor shops. seamstress shops and also dry cleaners to see if I could have one measly Pant hemmed which I needed to wear for a very special business engagement. finally I came across Rosie’s she had me bring my pant in. only charged me $ 10 to hem them did a great job and had it all done in one hour for me while I go to her again… heck yes will I recommend her. heck yes she’s very friendly very nice and understanding… she shared her beautiful story with me about when and how she got started… in her business… during the time there picking up my pants. .several people dropped by to pick there clothing up… all of them were happy with there results… great job again rosy.

Almost 5 stars! Missing one because it took longer than I wanted it to. But my dress was almost perfect!!!

Should have gone some where else! I looked at the reviews and was NOT going to get patches sewn onto my clothing, then a friend said she was great, no problems. Ended up going there and my patches were not sewn on, in fact she stitched a ¹⁄₈^th in. black choppy sloppy stitch around each patch. Next time Ill follow my instincts.

Took a pair of pants in to have them hemmed about three inches on the bottom on a Thursday. She said they would be ready Monday morning. Came back Monday afternoon and she said they weren’t done. They were still sitting on the counter where I had left them last week. Came back an hour later to get them and the pants legs were two different lengths. Asked her to fix it and she said she didn’t see a problem with them.

Not happy with the cosmetic result on my Brooks Brother sport coat. Taking it elsewhere to try and save it. This place is fine for simple jobs like hemming, leave complex jobs to someone else. My easy items came out great.

Thought I would try a local spot to support and gave Rosy’s a try to start with1 pair of new jeans and then hopefully about another 14 pair that need hemming. Mistake! Pants were returned to me dirty, hem was not straight and the thread color was white when it shouldve been brown. The job looked like my rookie daughter had sewn it. The lady, Rosy, argued w me about the hem color, I noticed the original hem laying on the floor, picked it up andshowed her and she still said it was white… really? I should have refused to pay the $ 8 and given her $ 2 to be nice, but instead I will NEVER return and will discourage anyone who is serious about the work they pay for from patronizing this place…

I came her for what I thought was a relatively simple alteration and she butchered my one of a kind dress. It needed to be taken in at the bottom and have fabric added under the arms. It is all made out of one piece of vintage fabric with a single seem down the back so the pattern would be continuous. Not only did she add seems to the sides and ruin the continuous pattern on the dress, but the fit is still completely off and it bunches terribly around the waist and hips… the exact opposite of what I wanted. She also did not add the fabric correctly under the arms and it looks like I have armpit wings. Hopefully another tailor will be able to fix it.

I would strongly recommend against patronizing this business. The owner is friendly, but the quality of the work she did on an item I had brought to her for alteration was extremely poor.
She altered the length of the sleeves on one of my sport coats (obviously, a common type of alteration that any tailor should be able to handle), but she achieved that by folding over the end of the sleeves towards the inside lining and stitching them together ! Additionally, she utilized a mismatching color of thread.
I ended-​up having the item re-​altered by another tailor. The kicker — she is not even that inexpensive.

Finding suits and pants that would fit me perfect right from the rack/​store is an impossible dream… sometimes these impossible dreams become a real nightmare when a bad tailor ruins your new clothes –which makes finding a good tailor that much more important. For the unfortunate few such as myself, we incur extra costs when we purchase nice expensive suits because we need to have them tailored.
My hunt for a new tailor began when my old tailor retired and sold her book of business to someone else who recently butchered a new suit jacket.
I brought my suits and dress pants to get tailored at Rosy’s on a Thursday due to a glowing recommendation from my friend. After she took my measurements — she told me the pants and suit would be ready by the following Wednesday… instead I got a call on Monday that she finished tailoring my clothes 2 days early! I tried the newly tailored suit jacked and dress pants and now they fit great!
I’m happy I found a new tailor for my growing business wardrobe…

Have you ever needed something altered ASAP? This happened to me a while back when I needed straps for a cute party dress taken in a few inches… I purchased this awesome royal blue dress, but it was a bit too low cut this way It was for a special occasion, my «golden birthday,» when your birth date happens to be the same as the age you turn.
I walked in on a Friday morning, had the dress pinned for adjustments, and picked it up that same afternoon! Rosy works wonders in her little shop, which is located next to Shaffer Awards and a drive-​through dairy mart (can’t miss the giant cow on the corner of Foothill & Mayflower). This small shop used to be a shoe repair place.
I had brought this dress to many cleaners that do alterations and they wanted anywhere between $ 15 – 25 for the same job. The reason they wanted this much was because they had to do «extra» work to sew into the «complicated» sewing job.
The cost of my dress strap alteration was $ 6. I told my mom about this place and she mentioned that she had taken in a purse with a broken strap, Rosy wanted a certain price but my mom had bargained the price to be lower. I guess you could bargain for your alteration, but it’s pretty cheap as it is!
