Century 21 Adams & Barnes

The agents are very professional and will give you top notch service. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them and I feel they are the best!
All the agents in the office are very hard working!

I have bought and sold several properties with Adams and Barnes over the last few years with Tom Adams as my agent. I could not be more satisfied with the service and the results. Tom’s decades of experience and calm demeanor have served me very well. He is an honest straight shooter and the best person that I could have had on my side to navigate my real estate transactions. If there is something I don’t understand he is always able to explain it to me. Tom is also a great leader and the entire staff at Adams and Barnes makes their clients feel welcome and appreciated.

The bottom line is this office was unprofessional and antagonizing. Even in their response to this post. I’m not posting this in hopes that they change their behavior, but rather to warn other clients and agents to avoid them at any cost.
The dissatisfaction is not with our agent. He was great at fighting for us to get the best deal.
Our issues are with Mr Adams and his office Adams&Barnes. He did not respond to numerous requests we made, took two weeks to even complete listing agent duties, violated Realtor code of ethics by showing the listing as «active» when we were already in contract. The final straw was when he told and promised us the sellers would be putting in a new stove and microwave of like kind to this property.
The microwave was installed improperly and the stove was USED and a 2004 model, which is not what was promised and has caused many problems.

I recommend everyone who is looking to rent to contact Maria F. Gayman, She is awesome and she will bend over backwards for you, If I can, I would give Maria 20 stars because honestly you can trust her. The experience we had was excellent even though my boyfriend and I didn’t get the condo we still had faith with Maria because we knew she worked her butt off trying to get us approved by the Agent.

I can’t say enough good things about the team at Century 21 Adams & Barnes. Over the last couple of years I’ve gotten to know many of the agents as I’ve worked on deals with them. They are VERY professional, prompt and helpfull. I fully endorse them.

I read the other review that wasn’t quite so complimentary. I guess everyone has a bad day, but I can tell you from experence that I have the utmost respect for the entire team led by Tom Adams. Without exception, I’ve had excellent service and results from C21 AB. I’ve referred many clients and friends and will continue to send people that trust me.

My experience with Mr. Hugo Torres of Century 21 Adams and Barnes was not productive. He refused to use the most flattering photos of my property we could find. He preferred one that showed bare dirt, a cactus that made the place look like it was in a southern hemisphere slum, and one particularly stupid one with a dirty, old LAMP sitting on a dirt patch in the backyard. (Don’t ask me how that lamp got there; it’s a rental.) Anyway, we parted ways after he refused to let me choose the photos of my own property that I wished to see on the internet. I had told him and his helper, Jacen Crehan, that I would be a stickler over photos.
I had only heard of his boss, Tom Adams, through a deal that went bad on Mountain View Ave, one block behind me. Apparently the buyer of that home had to sue or threaten to sue Mr. Adams over something that went wrong in THAT deal. I know the buyer eventually lost about $ 640,000 on the deal, lost the home and his wife too! It was THAT bad of a deal, put together by the agency Hugo now manages. I have contact info for that buyer if anyone out there needs to verify these assertions.
Century 21 Adams and Barnes, the agency Hugo Torres now manages, did another bad thing. I met the agency’s reps when I bought my first house in Monrovia in 2004. My agent was with
, and so was the seller’s agent. The seller told her agent that her bottom line was 29K below the listing price. Her agent, who worked closely with my agent, told my agent, who then told me. So now I knew the buyer would take 30K less than asking price. I wrote that lower amount, she took it, and I got the house. The poor (impoverished) seller never knew that I had pen in hand ready to write full price, when a short chain of c21 agents basically took 29K out of her pocket… for no reason! They even cost themselves part of their commission. That’s how far they’ll go to hurt a seller! Again, names and dates available.
