I just discoverd Advanced Tech the other week. Based on all the good Unilocal reviews I decided to try them out after another «mobile» mechanic messed my car up by crossing the wrong wires. My car ran very badly and I was thinking it was going to cost some money to fix. So I droped my car off with Rick and he seemed really nice amd personable and said he would check it out. It must of been a half hour later and I received a call from Rick saying, «Pick your car up!». So I went to pick up my car and when I got there he said it was a simple fix and I owed him nothing. I was low on money and very gratefull that I found these guys. So I would say Rick and Advanced Tech really seem to know what they are doing and are good honest people that can be trusted so they get five stars from me!

Rick is FANTASTIC! We’ve been coming here for years. Trust his expert advice on some high milage cars. He will tell you if it’s worth fixing or time to put out to pasture!

Rick and his team are the best. They won’t sell you things you don’t need and will give you an honest assessment of what needs to be repaired. I have been taking all 5 of our cars there for years and could not be happier. If you need a repair, take it to Rick.

I found Advance Tech Auto about 6 months ago, shortly after we moved to Mission Viejo. Since then, I have brought every oil change and repair on both our cars to Rick and his team. They are honest, well-​priced and very knowledgeable. Rick even helped me through my recent used car purchase. He was able to give me his opinion and insights on different makes and models I was considering. When I found the car I wanted, Rick and his team did a pre-​purchase inspection on it before I sealed the deal.

Rick — the owner — had worked for many large automotive dealerships as a Service Manager before owning Advance Tech. He is the ultimate car pro, and his automotive knowledge is unmatched. I’ve trusted his expertise for years with every car I’ve owned, and he’s never failed with the correct diagnosis. His shop charges far less than the dealer, yet you get far more in the way of customer service. I wouldnt go anywhere else. He runs the best shop around.

Finally found a car shop where I feel I won’t get ripped off for something I don’t need. I’ve been here before with my older car 03 altima but now brought my new 15 mdx for our maintance services. I purposely stayed to eaves drop and a simple looking for a wheel key. Greg the mechanic has to inform Rick the owner that there are coins in the console and he has to dig in some more. Honestly and good olé courtesy and respect to someone’s property earns my business. They’re fair and straight up front with no BS. No coupons necessary for a good peace of mind after your visit.

Trustworthy and fair! My boyfriend and I both use this mechanic shop and love it. Rick (the owner) is amazing, and honest to boot. He helped me out in a bad situation and now has a customer for life! Highly recommend this place for any of your car repair needs.

I am so glad I came to Advance Tech to do a AAA vehicle inspection before doing biz w/​a used car dealer trying to sell me a 2002 Saab 9 – 3 SE hatchback. Rick at the front desk was very straight forward with me and surmised that the seller disconnected the battery to stop anyone from properly checking the efficiency of the catalytic converter, O2 sensor, etc. (which is a huge deal here in California).
Having not taken the Saab to Adv Tech, I could of been out a lot of money and would have enabled this auto seller to get away with unscrupulous business practices.
Also, Larry (the gentleman who did the testing), was very professional and polite.
If I ever move up to OC from SD, these guys will be my new mechanics.

These guys were the best! I was in a mind with a check engine light, no money and needed to smog my car. The owner Rick was so nice and even got my car finished in just a couple hours! Got referred to this shop by the Jiffy Lube in the same parking lot and now it’s the only place I go to for my cars needs!

This the only place we take our cars for service. They do quality work at reasonable prices, and I’ve come to trust them over the years.

I will continue to take my car to Rick «Advance Tech». First of all, that’s one of the cleanest shops I have seen and his work on my car service showed it. Rick informed me that my cracked battery cable could cause major problems ($$$$) if it isn’t taken care of. He replaced the cable and informed to return in a short time and he will check what he did. He is a concerned mechanic and checks for future problems you may have. I not only found a good mechanic, but a friend who wants to make sure your car doesn’t have future problems.

This place is the place to go if you have car problems. The service is fast and Rick has great customer service and of course this place is cheap!

Advaance tech and its employees are the best in customer service and truely just showing and understanding of auto care… Rick you are good at what you do and your team as well… keep up the giid work…

Best mechanic I have ever found! They are honest and upfront which are two of my favorite things. If your looking for any kind of auto work you must go here first!

Rick is fantastic, recently broke my drive shaft and needed a new one. The service here goes above and beyond what I’ve experienced elsewhere, kept me informed ad tried to save me $$$

The tow truck driver recommended this place. Miracle workers to fix my car in one day. However once I departed, the car wouldn’t start the next day.
Apparently the bolts were loose on the battery. Mind you that the engine parts being repaired did not involve the battery. I suspect these guys just wanted me to return and shell out more cash for something I didn’t need.

YOUR CAR DIE ON ‘YA LATELY? I hope not, but if so…
We all have to be careful when recommending auto repair facilities for one good reason. Most of them are not going to have a «spotless» record with everyone who walks in the their doors. However, and based on my visit to Advance Tech today… I have to say that if they’re always as efficient and detailed as they were today, they certainly deserve my 5 star rating.
It’s Saturday, and my corporate vehicle lost its air conditioning. And if you check out the date of this review, you’ll know it’s the last couple weeks of summer; a very hot September I might add! I wanted to get it fixed immediately, so I drove from Rancho Santa Margarita where it died, all the way back to Mission Viejo, looking not just for a repair shop, but one that would «fix it while I waited.» Since it’s a fleet vehicle with all expenses… gas, insurance, repairs, covered by our PHH Fleet Services Card, I just had to find a shop that had a tech available to do the work.
After trying two chain operations, I stopped just short of home at the repair mall near our residence. And thankfully, Advance Tech not only had a «certified AC» facility sign out front, but had a tech that could do the work «while I waited.»
Why am I impressed with Advance? First, the manager got a tech on my vehicle while he was still working on getting his PO from PHH. (No wasted time) Secondly, and as I watched, the tech dug in and did a thorough inspection for leaks, checked temps before, during and after using both an analog and a digital thermometer, and then double checked his work. (I was watching, and being a home garage mechanic, I can tell when things are being done «per the book.») When he told me he found a possible «pin hole» leak in one hose fitting, I knew he had done his due dilegence.
And thirdly, they had a Cadillac DeVille in for front end issues. I was watching and listening while the manager and two mechanics compared notes and did detailed measurements on what turned out to be a 90’ish year old owner who had run over a cement curbing and Lord knows what else. They didn’t just do the alignment… they checked out a number of issues that many front end mechanics might have skipped. And what impressed me was that she wasn’t there. They just exhibited a deep interest in doing the «forensics» and properly repairing and adjusting. It’s like watching kids when they don’t know that you’re watching… and they «do the right thing!»
So in my opinion, there are now TWO repair facilities in the La Paz — Bravo Burger strip center that I recommend. One would be my old standby, Mike of Saddleback Automotive, and now, Advance Tech. I hope you don’t need them, but if you do, these are two very, very good bets where you should get proper and efficient service.
