This was the best experience I have ever had at a dealership. Amazing! I didn’t know it could be this easy.
I worked with Sully. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I test drove. (This was surprising since the vehicle was not a BMW and the only Jeep on the lot.) This really speaks to his professionalism.
Sully and the management looked at my trade and offered me a fair price for it.
The finance office was another positive experience. Kyle was a pleasure to deal with. I had never walked out of a finance office of a dealership with a smile on my face… Until now.
I bought a vehicle at a fair price. They offered me a fair price for my trade and they made the negotiating process easy and painless. I give them my highest recommendation and my business.

Bought a 2010 BMW X5 in Nov of 2014. first day out got low oil warning. Took it back in and was repaired and covered by BMW corperate and some by the dealership, and after almost a month got it back. They did give us a loaner, and gave us a free two year warranty on things repaired so it wasn’t that bad and was happy again. six months down the road. oil sensor warning malfunction keeps going off and we never failed to mention it to the BMW repair staff. They said everything was fine and it was drive-​able. two weeks after our last check up, a ball bearing falls into the engine and coats the holes for the oil to get to the engine. Engine was destroyed and had to buy a new one which was $ 12,000 grand. We talked to other BMW certified maintenance staff from other dealerships and they told us the blame was on them because of the oil sensor malfunction. They did not take responsibility, even though we had a warranty because they said the problem was in the lower part of the engine. I mean you pay 100 dollars more and wait forever for these certified mechanics, (EXPERTS they say), but then they fail to do a simple repair on a oil sensor? Gross incompetence I own the car less then a year and only had it for 9 months because of it being in their repair shop. I am scared to put it in sport mode and every day a stutter or flutter in the engine keeps me up at night. Thanks for the stress BMW.

Always excellent service and attention to detail here. Plus, the lattes and your name popping up on the screens in the garage right when you pull in are pretty sweet.

I am on my second BMW and this is one High Class Dealer. When you walk thru the front door everyone treats you with respect and appreciation. The service department is no different. I traveled 3 hrs from my home and I pulled into the shop in my old Chevy pickup. I had my BMW wheel in the truck and needed the flat tire replaced. They guided me in thru the overhead doors as if I was driving a 7 series. The service guy gave my boy a tour of the impressive shop while we waited. My wife says the same thing when she is in for oil changes too. I sometimes stop in just to look at the beautiful cars on display when I am in town. Doing business here is a pleasure.

I recently decided to lease a new BMW. Additionally, I had a current BMW that I wanted to get rid off. I searched online for a BMW dealership and BMW of Minnetonka was one of the results. The dealership was 30 minutes away from my house, but I decided to drive there anyway. Upon arriving I was greeted by an extremely professional gentleman named Mark. A knowledgable and respectful individual who tailored his approach to my needs. In addition, the leasing manager and the rest of the staff I encountered was also extremely helpful and proffesional. I’m extremely happy with the transaction. It is with no regrets that I will return for continued business. Thank you Marc and the rest of the staff at BMW of MINNTENOKA.

Negative five star– bad business
Customer service is ok, compare to Mercedes Benz. My use «certified BMW X5 2009» cost me a lot of money for repairs ($ 11,000) and they have no records prior service right after I bough it. The finance department have no clue and don’t know what she’s doing. They will take advantage of you as a first time customer. Be careful, they are shark! If I can give them — 5 stars, I will…
$ 30, 000 used 2009 X5, cause me $ 52,000 because they said my credit is low. Is that illegal? Just a question. Shame shame shame! Thanks to the sales personand the finance department. NEVER AGAIN!
Bad business… Negative five star

I was in Minneapolis on a Saturday, when my A/​C broke, and I had to drive to Chicago on Sunday. The Service team got me in, and made an 8-​hour repair in 4 hours! And worked with me to get an oil change and an annual inspection at the same time. I was very impressed, and the Service Rep I worked with (Josh) took care of me very well.

Had a great experience at BMW Minnetonka. Staff was A++ all the way through. Jeff Kotnour was my advisor and he did a wonderful job. So were the other staff members that helped me on my visit. I had brought in my 328i for a service engine light. I left the car over night and they gave me a loaner for the evening. I ended up with a 2015 i3. Boy that was fun! The next day Jeff explained to me that they had found several things that needed to fixed and laid them out according to priority. He gave it to me straight and I really appreciated that. I wasn’t sure if my warranty would fix the items so I thought it best to leave it there one last night in case the warranty did covers the fixes. I was able to take another loaner for the night 2015 320i this time. Super nice car, not as much fun as the i3 though. The repairs did not end up being covered, but I opted to do them myself. The next night after I had picked up my 328i I popped the hood to have a look at some of the items I’d need to fix. I noticed that all of the covers and debris shields were missing. No doubt still at BMW. I called and left a message. Right away in the morning I had Jeff and another representative from BMW call and text me to help find a solution while I was at work. I explained to them that I was leaving town right after work and that it would be a big inconvenience to drive out to Minnetonka. Especially during rush hour. They came out to my work in Golden Valley in the late morning, had it fixed and filled with fuel by the time lunch rolled around. That’s what I call great service! Even though there was that miscommunication between the advisor and the mechanic about replacing the items under my hood they more than made up for it. Definitely will need a return visit.

The sales staff (at least two different gentlemen) were very helpful with us recently on two occasions. We did not purchase through this BMW location but our experience was quite pleasant. I’d recommend this dealership if one was in the market for a BMW.

The most amazing car dealership I have been to. I first purchased a used Acura from them in the year 2011 and then bought a Certified BMW and both the times I dealt with the same Sales Rep (Andre Prasad) who has been exceptionally amazing for his customer service, knowledge about the vehicle and every other aspect. They have a lot of cars to choose from (BMW and other makes as well). The service team, reception staff, billing and payment staff and as well the maintenance crew all are very helpful and ensure 100% customer satisfaction always.

After waking up one morning to find that my husband had emailed me several links to cars on
I checked a few out. One of the cars was at this dealership which is very close to my workplace… so with a few more encouraging messages from him I made my way over to BMW of MTK to test drive a used 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer RalliArt.
I had called the day before my visit to schedule a time and to also make sure the car was still available. After doing so it felt like the right thing to do since it probably made me seem like more of a serious buyer and also because the car may have moved on quickly. The sales agent I acquired was Andre. I didn’t have a pen on me when I spoke to him (because I was driving, tsk tsk) so I had to remember «Andre the Giant.» Easy.
My visit with Andre was great. He brought me out to the car and right away we went for the test drive in which he first checked my DL and then climbed into the passenger seat. He gave me lots of information about the car while we were driving and after chatting about our past cars in common he had a good idea of what I needed in a car.
Afterward we chatted at his desk about financing and a trade-​in quote. I told him that I would have to come back with my husband (who has the money) but it wouldn’t be until the following day. I could tell he seemed somewhat skeptical but I left with his card and gave a promise to call tomorrow.
The next morning my husband arrived at the dealership at 10am ready to purchase the car. Andre was not in even though the receptionist said he should be. We were given a new salesperson who let us test drive it again. This time around the car wouldn’t start (not my fault, I swear) but it gave us a chance to see how to jump the battery… which was not usual. This gave me an uneasy feeling but it was dismissed when I got behind the wheel again. Aaron, the salesperson, gave even more information about the car and allowed me to REALLY drive it. So cool.
The financing took a couple of hours at least. There were some technical issues with the computers/​connectivity and whatnot. I was a bit peeved that no one had bothered to ask if we would want both of our names on the title. Small detail that can be fixed in months to come. Just give me the car!
Andre showed up at the last minute to hand me the keys and send me off. Hope he got some of the commission!
With all the waiting we did my husband really enjoyed the complimentary coffee machine that made lattes. Don’t bother with the cookies, tasted like they were from Cub. While he watched TV I spent most of my time reading car magazines. There are several children play areas too.
I highly doubt that I will ever purchase a BMW but I will be back here… primarily to pick up the plates and get that tint job I ordered!

We got there just as they were closing, and the guy was a little rude to us. I don’t really dig the brand attitude in general– all their cars were black and it had a super villain vibe to it. Seems a little overly serious– not for me.

This is the second time I brought my car for service and the second time I was told the work was done. Yet I had to return the car both times because the work was NOT done. Apologies are nice. Telling customers the work was done when it is NOT, is not acceptable. A car wash and bottle of water doesn’t make up for the lack of confidence that service is complete.

I need to re-​write my review here because somehow my last review was deleted after being up for only a few months. Strange, I wonder how that happened? Well I think this review should stand as is because it is the truth and people should know. So I will post it again.
I am still angry with this dealership. The experience I had there was unacceptable. I went to look at a new BMW last September 2013. Wanted to test drive one and possibly buy/​lease one. This would have been my first BMW. I was excited.
When walking into the place it is huge and all indoors and I didn’t know where to go because nobody directed me. They have two floors. I walked around the first floor with absolutely nobody approaching me. I finally figured out on my own that the new cars are all upstairs. I went upstairs, saw a from desk where again nobody greeted me. I walked around looked at some cars for about 10 minutes and finally some gentleman approached me and asked if anyone was helping me. I said no. He said he would find someone for me and they would be with me shortly. After about 10 more minutes standing in the same spot no one came. I was starting to feel a little stupid and unwelcome there. I saw the car I was interested in and took it upon myself to to check it out for 15 min. Inside and out. I liked it a lot. Looked around some more and nobody came to me. Not one person. I looked around and saw sales staff sitting at their desks not looking particularly busy. I saw three guys in suits who worked there talking in the corner not far just ignoring me. I was disgusted! I had enough. I walked out of there with not one person saying anything to me. This was the worst car dealership experience I have ever had. They made me feel like I was not supposed to be there. Anyways, since then I bought a new car from a different dealer and I couldn’t be happier. They actually acted as if they wanted my business. ZERO stars.

Thanks to Amy, this was probably the best dealership experience I have ever had. I have bought many cars and looked at many dealerships, and this time I felt no pressure and all of my dealings with Amy were awesome. I will recommend Minnetonka BMW to all of my friends and family.

I have been buying parts from Sears BMW for years for previous BMWs, and they’ve always been excellent with their service. Their service department also was very well run, and their service advisors were knowledgeable. When I made the decision to buy a new BMW, this was something that steered me to BMW of Minnetonka (formerly Sears BMW). I spent a couple months snooping and tire kicking, but when I was ready to buy, I was linked up with Kris Kramer, a new car salesman. Kris was a good guy and fellow veteran, so I was motivated to work with him. He knew his stuff about BMW, and was familiar with all of the features and specifics of the car that I was looking at.
Kris also recognized what kind of buyer I was, in that I’m not the typical modern BMW buyer. I am an old-​school buyer who wanted a BMW because of the heritage and motorsport history, as well as the driving capability. He made mention of this, and it was nice to know that I was working with someone that actually recognized that there are different kinds of BMW owners, and how to accommodate them. I am a somewhat «high maintenance» buyer, in that I wanted full information on the ordering and shipping process, and Kris did a good job keeping me in the loop.
One issue did arise with my car, which I pretty much knew was going to happen because so far everything had gone off without a hitch. An accessory part that I ordered for Port Install, and that was on the order sheet, did not get installed. Instead, another accessory was installed elsewhere. This was the fault of BMW North America, not of the dealership. Kris assured me that it would get resolved, and true to his word, the dealership made things right and got it straightened out. I cannot fault BMW of Minnetonka for this, and they bent over backwards to make things right. Kris was on top of this before I even knew about it.
Finance went quickly and easily. Very streamlined process.
I had my car serviced a few weeks later to get an option programming done, and the service was professional. The loaner they gave me was a brand new 528i. The service was done correctly and as promised.
Overall, a very good experience. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

Relocating to Minnesota — needed a car pretty quickly.
Found the exact model I wanted online, go in and ready to buy. I asked the two women at the reception, who were friendly but aloof, to speak with someone in sales. Front desk woman A gets on the phone and starts chatting with someone. Woman B says it will be a few minutes. Fine, whatever.
Milling about the show floor looking at all the «aspirational» cars, which in reality are just a bunch of 15 year old super cars. There are a bunch of diffident and disinterested salesmen in cheap suits milling about the sales floor, carefully ignoring the front reception stand and a customer with cash in hand.
After 10 minutes I go back up. Woman A at the desk says «Oh, just go upstairs and find a sales rep» excuse me? Is this anyway to treat a customer? I took my money, walked out and went to a competing brand down the road. If they treat a potential customer this poorly before the sale, I can’t imagine the shabby treatment in the service department.
Extremely poor service at this place. They don’t want MY business, what makes you think they want yours?

Received first class service here on a car purchase recently. Kathy D (Sales) and Dave P (Finance) were both fun to work with and made the process easy. Other members of the BMW Mtka team that I encountered were very friendly and accommodating. The owners/​GM clearly take pride in keeping the place tiptop, as it was spotless inside and horsepower is on display in perfect form. I look forward to doing business with this dealership in the future. Most importantly, felt like I received a fair deal and walked away with the car I was looking for.

Didn’t buy a car from them.
I walked in on a Friday evening and everyone including the greeter brushed me off.
I ended up test driving a car I was going to buy. When I got back, the salesman who handed me the keys was nowhere to be found.
I left the keys on his desk and walked out. I went down the street and bought the car I had just looked at prior to this one.
I had $ 15k cash in my pocket that day. BMW lost out.

They would get 5 stars if they had better people in sales. The sales department gave me a higher price on cars than ALL of the other dealerships I went to. My guy friend and I went in separately and asked about the same vehicle with all of the same requirements and my price, money down, ect was 10,000 higher!!! WTF! BUT… the service staff here is AMAZING! 5 stars for service… 1 star for sales. Oh… and definitely 5 stars for the snack and coffee area. If you have a BMW then take it here over Motorwerks, hands down.
