Lexus of Wayzata

I bought a certified pre-​owned RX450H last month and so far I’ve been impressed with the customer experience I’ve had with the sales and service staff. I felt the price I received on the vehicle was fair and although I had to bring it in for service twice for 2 small issues in the first week I owned it, each time the service staff was very polite, accommodating and provided excellent follow up. My only small complaint was that I purchased the «clear bra» at the time I bought the vehicle, but the service staff was booked out 2 weeks before they could install it. Unfortunately I did not get the reminder I was promised, so when the install day finally arrived, I forgot to drop off my vehicle! I called in to reschedule and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes and speaking with someone in service, they told me they couldn’t help me and that I had to speak to an advisor, *but none were available… I asked them to call me back. So far I’m cautiously optimistic about this dealership and if anyone asked me if I’d recommend them, I’d say yes.

Many companies today don’t regard doing the right thing for the customer… but this is one who stands by those words :-)

I dread coming to Lexus of Wayzata. Their customer service is awful and everyone their has a pretentious attitude. I understand that I am young, but I can own nice things and should be treated with respect, rather than be asked if I can «afford» to be there; I can «afford» to be where ever I want.
Now, I was there looking to get out my 2011 Lexus LS 600h L (beautiful car) and into something newer. I was completely open to any model Lexus had to offer (as my tastes are ever changing). The salesmen (I worked with 3 different people) continued to show me «entry level» cars; this would have been fine, if they hadn’t continued to tell me that the price would be easier to handle for someone my age.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love rock bottom pricing, but I also know what I can afford. I’m not worried about the price of the vehicle, I just want something newer. I thought this was an easy task, but apparently it wasn’t for Lexus of Wayzata. They need to stop making age based remarks and just accept the money I’m willing to give them.
I left without a car and haven’t returned this dealer. I would highly recommended going to Lexus of Maplewood for all of your Lexus needs (it’s weird how they are both owned by the same people, but Maplewood has better service).

I’ve now been to this dealership twice for service. The first time was two years ago when I was visiting from Chicago and noticed a knocking sound from my engine the entire trip.
I know it was an emergency type of service… but $ 900 seemed a bit steep. They did offer me a loaner vehicle since it took a bit longer to fix.
The second visit was just a week ago. I received a factory recall notice regarding a fuel gasket or something. It took me three separate attempts/​calls to get through to the service department just to set up my appointment! The operator would forward me each time, and then it would just ring and ring until I got sent back to the operator. The service itself was free and they gave me another loaner vehicle because it was going to take four hours for it to be repaired.
The reason why I gave it three stars instead of two stars is because they actually filled my gas tank after this past service visit. It was a pleasant surprise.

My mother bought a used Lexus from Lexus of Wayzata. Drove the car to California. Found out a tire had a bulge in sidewall. Lexus of Wayzata agreed to refund the money she paid a Lexus dealer in California to replace the tire. We’re very pleased.

Called in to get a quote on the repairs on my Lexus yesterday. The service rep was rude. Asked a couple of questions about my check engine light codes, she raised her voice and got mad that they were under-​staffed. It’s understandable that you are under-​staffed on a Saturday, but instead of nicely explaining the situation, she felt the need to have an attitude and make it seem like it was my fault for calling. Ended up calling Lexus of Maplewood, whose reps were much nicer and more professional.

Purchased a used (2010) RX350 from here almost a year ago. Wow! This is an impressive dealership. Sales staff (Jamie) was friendly, helpful, and made sure everything went smoothly — and we got a terrific price on the car. Couldn’t have asked for a better car-​buying experience.

Lexus of Wayzata is the best car dealer I have ever had the privilege of going into.
I have a very high opinion of the parts and the service department. Their parts cost is very fair — usually on par with the Toyota dealers but this location is much closer to home from me. The parts people are very knowledgeable about the products and seem to read my mind when they suggest parts I forgot to ask for. And they were even super patient with me when I had a list of JDM parts for my LS that I wanted to see if they could get. Very quick, friendly, and fairly priced — what more could you ask for?
I never bought a new Lexus but my parents were interested in one a while ago and the salesperson we worked with was one of the best salespersons we’ve ever interacted with. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, even though he knew we were just looking. And every step of the way he was sure to illuminate what makes Lexus special, rather than what the competitors lacked. I thought that was very admirable and ethical. It’s excellent that the staff knows so much about what makes Lexus so special. I’m invariably in there about once a month during summer in my motorcycle gear (a reflective jacket and kevlar jeans, usually holding a helmet, and always unshaven/​disheveled) and the salespeople have always approached me and been unreasonably nice. Always willing to talk about Lexuses (they’re the only people who care as much as I do that the SC430 was the last vehicle in America with a tape deck) and one guy offered me a test drive, which I declined
I haven’t used their service department for my car, but I used their sister dealership Lexus of Maplewood and the service was fairly priced and done pretty well. Lexus dealers quotes come in on the high side, but they give out loaners that happen to be brand new Lexuses (I got an ES with 6,000 miles when I brought my car in for a timing belt and stuff) and I think their services are worth a lot just for that luxury. The technician that worked on my car put two crush washers on my differential’s fill plug, but that mistake is a million times better than the alternative: forgetting that crush washer. At least everything was torqued sensibly — nothing makes me hate a company like finding that they hit every bolt they threaded with an impact wrench.
Also, Lexus dealers always recommend a complete solution to a given problem. It can be expensive to fix cars this way, and its of dubious value on the older cars but it’s nice that the option exists. If you know exactly what you want, they’ll fulfill the request no questions asked. I once asked them to use a weird oil weight and they were cool with it.
I’d never buy a new Lexus, but I’m probably going to buy used ones until I expire and it’s very reassuring to know that my local dealer is so trustworthy and knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re on the fence about a Lexus. At the very least, they’re immensely respectful of your time and that’s a luxury all its own.

Their amazing waiting room full of leather chairs, treats and beverages does NOT make up for their salesmen’s terrible attitudes. A bunch of a-​holes parading around in suits does not impress me or make me think luxury. This really disappoints me to have arrived at this conclusion after frequenting this dealership for many years, and being Lexus owners ourselves. Time and time again, Lexus has been a terrible rip off– quoting us $ 600 for repairs that we had done for $ 75 elsewhere. We’re over it, and would rather not waste our money– we’ll be Subaru owners in the near future.

This is one of the best dealerships in the Twin Cities. Great staff, excellent service department and very fair to deal with.
Update: just purchased my second vehicle and could not have been more happier. The dealership staff was again great to work (6÷1÷14) with, and now with some additional staff they work hard to go above and beyond the customer’s expectations.

I bought a used GX 470 last June from Tom at Lexus. I just brought it in to the dealer for an oil change and a detail and I love my truck! It runs great and they keep it looking and running perfect! I was a little worried about buying a high mile truck, but I haven’t had one issue (whew)! Love my truck and I actually like going to get my truck worked on because its so nice there and the service is great!

I recently bought a used RX from Lexus of Wayzata. This place was so refreshing after having such an awful experience at Motorwerks in Bloomington. This dealership is absolutely beautiful and the customer service offered by Lexus and this individual dealership are unbeatable. They were very willing to negotiate the price of the RX I bought, they were incredibly friendly and honest, and truly wanted our business. We worked with Pat at the Bargain Lot (right next to the main dealership) and he was fantastic. No pressure from him at all to buy the car. This dealership will have my business for years to come.

This is what a car dealership should be –great service, outstanding sales team, fair and honest financing … don’t have anything negative to say.
I recently bought a car from Cal, a friendly, knowledgable gentlemen with a no-​pressure approach to his job. He was helpful, polite, friendly, efficient and professional, as was the rest of the staff.
Best car buying experience I’ve had to date.

Ahhhh… this is luxury! The fountains, the plush furniture, oversized floral arrangements, crystal chandeliers, marble everywhere, fancy-​pants young salesmen with their fancy shoes tapping along importantly. Wow… did I just walk into Caesar’s Palace?
You know what’s even better than all that luxury? Luxury without pompousness.
I bought a car here. It wasn’t a Lexus. It wasn’t new. It wasn’t terribly expensive. It was a used Volvo. I didn’t have a trade-​in. I didn’t wear my best jewelry or even my best shoes. But I was treated like a well respected consumer. Perhaps this is the exact same way they treat everyone no matter their pocketbook size or what kind of car they roll up in.
From the first email I sent to a salesman (Rich was his name) inquiring about the used Volvo on their website, to the final transaction weeks later in the office with the money guy (I wish I remembered his name), my experience was top-​notch every step of the way. This isn’t to say the process wasn’t flawless. I was buying a used car after all! But it was clear that my satisfaction was the most important thing to them. They really bent over backwards for me, and I am extremely appreciative of that.
