I encountered El Primo on the Northside across from Neighborhoods Organizing for Change(NOC). This is by far my favorite taco truck in the Twin Cities. Not only is it legitimately delicious, it is crazy cheap($ 1.50 a taco) the way food trucks should be. This is the real deal. Huge portions, cheap, flavorful, spicy, full of fixings. I would eat here weekly if I could.

This taco master is nestled inside an unassuming gas station(CK Food & Fuel). I work nearby and came across this gem on my short break. Charging only $ 1.50 per chicken taco I had to give it a try! I was a bit hesitant to rate this in fear that I wouldn’t have it all to myself anymore, but I am hoping that they get so busy that they can open their OWN place and hire more people, it’s THAT good! I have had several taco’s around town, and the more authentic the better(in my opinion). This is THE best Chicken Taco I have ever consumed… to date! The amazingly flavorful & spiced, grilled chicken is placed inside a corn tortilla topped with onions, cilantro, lime and a side of special spicy green sauce. I just ordered 20 tacos to go today on my way home and totally overwhelmed the 1-person staff. Don’t plan to be in a hurry if you stop here, but DO plan on having some AMAZING food!!! I wish I could give it more stars!

I’ve been wondering where all the taco trucks are. LAKESTREET. This taco truck has a short menu of tacos and has two types of drinks. Each taco is an even $ 2. I thought this was pricey, but the tacos aren’t the 3−4″ handholders I’m used to. El Primo’s tacos are about 6−7″ and the carnitas is hella tender. The light-red hot sauce looks homemade, spicy and unlike any I’ve ever had. The only thing I don’t like is how steamy the tortillas taste. I ate one in my car, and heated the other one at home on a cast iron pan. (I will be trying the other two taco trucks I spotted and do a comparison in later reviews!)
