I love companies like this. I can’t say enough about how professional they are. I had a huge job. Lucas and Ezekiel were punctual, friendly, and worked hard until the job got done. When they hit an unexpected curve like a piece of furniture that didn’t fit through a hall, they simply figured out a solution and kept moving. They are true professionals and have a work ethic worthy of true respect. Customer service is fantastic. I wish I could give them ten stars. And I wish more companies took themselves this seriously. Hat’s off guys.

I for one do not normally leave reviews but felt compelled felt obligated to go out of my way to do this one. This great bay area moving team at Five Star Moving And Storage was just simply FANTASTIC no better way to describe this moving experience. The movers attention to detail was what really inspired write this review. They gently packed all my glassware, wrapped it, taped it, excellently boxed and used wrapping paper to make sure it wouldn’t giggle and break. 5 stars for service and awesome work ethic Vivek and your team. I will surely recommend anyone to this local moving company

Dont hire them. They must have written the good reviews which tricked me to hire them. They should change the name to zero star moving company. They dont give you their prices right over the phone so that you book them. When they show up late then start to come up with new prices for stairs extra time and all other crap to charge you extra money. They damaged my tv. The little short mexican guy who was their boss was extremely rude and pushy constantly talking on his damn phone. They take their sweet time to charge you extra hour. Also they plan to have their lunch during the move to add additional hour. When you are ready to give them damn money they harass you. I think this is the guy who has anger issue and got fired from his last job (one of the reviews here). Save your money and chose another company. I had a stressful horrible experience with this moviny compy.

After calling a few different moving companies, I decided to go with Vivek based on the positive Unilocal reviews and his professionalism over the phone. I had confidence that I could trust in his company, and they definitely pulled through. Prompt, professional, and hardworking, the guys had my place moved very quickly — in fact, less than the time they initially quoted me. Highly recommended.

My experience with Five Star could not have been any better! I had reserved a truck on-​line and accidently ordered a van… way too small. Vivek offered me an available 15 foot truck at the same price as the van. I happily accepted. I think he saw the apprehension… ok FEAR, on my face at having to drive that monster truck. He asked if I’d considered movers and I said no, couldn’t afford it… my move was 200 miles. But, I went ahead and listened to his quote. I was STUNNED! He charged me very little more to move my belongings and I didn’t have to drive that huge truck. I, of course, had him do it. I was concerned as I had to get my things out of storage that day so there wasn’t time to get the better insurance however, there was not a single bit of damage to my things! Use this company! You will have the comfort of knowing your belongings are safe and Vivek is a very fair man. He didn’t have to offer to move my belongings… he could have just rented me the monster truck, but he made my life much easier!!!

I just recently called these guys because of the five star reviews that I seen on here. Well they must be fabricated because these guys definitely are not professional. I am having to file an insurance claim due to the damages they left me with.
I made the appt with a guy named Vivek. For starters, I paid for 2 people to show up and only one guy ended up showing up. The one mover guy then proceeded to try and move everything on his own causing damage to my stuff. A 1000 $ dresser that I just bought was dented and scratched up, my 3000 $ stainless fridge was left dented and scratched on the door, new front door all scratched up, my new hardwood floor was scratched, and my laptop that was in my nightstand was dented up because they flipped and turned my furniture while bringing it downstairs.
So if you want to believe all of these fabricated reviews do so… But if you want the truth and you dont want any of your stuff damaged THEN DONT CALL THESE GUYS!!!

I have know Vivek, Manju, their 2 year old baby Diya. (owners of Five Star Moving) for 7 years. They have helped me many times with my moves, and I can say without reservation — - They are hardworking, honest and dedicated people .
They have offered solutions to some complex moving issues and have been extremely helpful, the most important thing to me is the ethics they display
They are also cheaper then most. I would recommend this good people to anyone in a heartbeat

Ok 4 moves in 5 years-​all within SF and the Northern Peninsula. Five Star was the best move of the 3 different movers we have used. Great price, friendly guys and they showed up on time. Three men moved us faster than our previous movers that had a six man crew because they also worked well as a team. They even were cheerful about working around our crazy schedules.
We’re hoping this place sticks but if we ever have to move again, we will definitely use them. Thanks Vivek and staff!

Called this company last minute due to truck’s coming late ;and the boss (Vivek) sent a team in less than one hour.
Super fast unloading, we had about 3000 lbs stuffed in a trailer, which took three movers only one hour to wipe out everything from the trailer and put them in the bedrooms and living room. They also helped us to put together the two big bed-​frames.
Total out of pocket is a bit high since there’s a 3-​hour minimum charge (we did not have much to unload so basically paying 3 times more) but totally worth it! I was happy enough to have such a great help. Thanks again!

The three guys who came to move me from my one bedroom apartment to a PODS unit did the job in 2 hours, including driving time. They were professional, efficient and fast. All of the items were wrapped up in the PODS, with room to spare. Job well done!

Thank god for Vivek and his team!
I recently moved to San Francisco and called them up as they came recommended from another highly-​rated mover in the area. I was calling last minute and it is very difficult to get movers last-​minute as they book up pretty quickly… but Vivek was thankfully able to schedule me in. The movers were careful with my things and did the move pretty quickly.
But the story doesn’t stop there. Apparently, a hazard of moving from a large San Mateo apartment to a smaller SF one is that some of your furniture may not be able to follow you! My couch literally could not fit through the door. The movers honestly tried their best to get it in. But alas, I was forced to leave my couch on the truck, which Vivek generously allowed me to do instead of leaving a perfectly good and expensive couch on the street!
For a few weeks, he kept my orphan couch for me on his truck while I attempted to find a buyer. I eventually sent it off to a consignment store, but keeping the couch for me was above and beyond the call, truly.
Please use these guys, as they’ve recently started out and need the word spread! They were great, understanding and helpful — I definitely recommend them.

Vivek was referred to my by another well reviewed moving company, and I am glad they did. I waited until a week or two before my move, and fortunately Vivek and his team still had a time slot available. I only needed a 2 man crew for a small 1 bedroom move up the peninsula, and they did a great job. Everything was carefully packed into their truck and delivered quickly. They laid out my stuff whereever I asked in my new place.
The only minor quibble is that the team arrrived 1 hour later than we had agreed to beforehand, but at least Vivek called ahead of time to notify me, so it’s not like I had to just sit around not knowing when they would arrive. But that is why I took off 1 star.
The crew’s service was excellent when they arrived.
Everything took just the 3 hour minimum, which really was how much time it took, so it all worked out.
I plan on calling them again if I have to move again.

I worked with Vivek and his crew at Five Star as part of a collaboration with Frank’s Moving when my wife and I moved from San Francisco to San Diego. The experience was extremely positive. Vivek made himself available prior to the move to answer any questions or concerns I may have, and was willing to accommodate us whenever possible. On the day of the move, Vivek himself showed up to oversee the move and make sure things went smoothly. This carried through to him driving down to San Diego and assisting in the unloading. At the end, I simply handed him a check (no hassles, no extra hidden charges), and that was that.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with Five Star Moving and would recommend them to anyone needing help moving.

DO NOT HIRE!
A foreman with emotional issues and two YOs showed-​up for the move. When they weren’t busy talking on their phones or listening to rap music out loud, they scratched and damaged our walls. EVERY WALL THEY CAME IN CONTACT WITH, THEY DAMAGED.
They also scratched the brand new floors at our new house.
When I brought these issues up with the foreman, he was evasive and dismissive. I called their office and left a message, but they didn’t bother call me back. They called the foreman instead who CORNERED me in the garage, YELLED at me and BLACKMAILED me with over $ 200 of extra charges if I don’t shut up and give them excellent feedback and tip. He also ranted how he makes $ 8 an hour (he makes $ 15 per his boss) and he wants more money from me. That is highly inappropriate, to say the least.
Not to mention that they «forgot» a few heavy items in our old house that we had to go back and pick up.
I paid $ 110/​hour for these incompetents! I had way better luck in the past with $ 65/​hr movers.
When his boss, Vivek, finally called me, days later, I told him the story. He said this is unacceptable and that the foreman has a history of similar behavior with other clients and probably why he was FIRED from a previous moving job (why didn’t he fire him ???) He said he’ll investigate and get back to me asap.
HE NEVER DID.
That left us shaken and upset and with really bad memories when we should have been excited to move to our new house. On top of it all, we paid a lot for these guys AND MORE to get the walls and floors fixed.
I cannot say this enough, DO NOT HIRE THESE INCOMPETENTS!

Just used these guys (Conrad + another [sorry, can’t remember name]) for a move from San Francisco to San Anselmo. 2nd floor to 3rd floor move with no elevators. These guys cranked it out quickly, were professional with nothing broken. More importantly, they did not overcharge and it was worth every penny.
I would definitely use they guys again.
