Tamalpais Community Acupuncture

I have used Unilocal for a long time, but have never written a review for a service. I have never felt compelled to. Until now. Amie healed me after one treatment. Just one. I literally went in with a neck /​shoulder strain from pilates — one that prevented me from looking left or right and caused shooting pain — and walked out with no pain and full mobility. It honestly felt like a miracle, and I’m not someone prone to exaggeration. I still can’t believe it. If it had not been for Amie, I would have be in pain for at least a week and sidelined from doing the activities I love. I cannot recommend her, and TAC enough. From the online booking (I was able to book an appointment for the day after I incurred my injury), to the time Amie took to get to know me (even though I signed up for a community session she still took 10 – 15 minutes to talk to me beforehand to get to know me), to the length of the session (1 hour), and the nice peaceful atmosphere, everything was wonderful from start to finish. AND most importantly, IT WORKED. Best money I’ve ever spent on acupuncture, and I’ve tried many other places and practitioners in the past.

I have had wonderful experiences here with Amie Brooke. She strikes a perfect balance between warmth and professionalism. She is also an EFFECTIVE acupuncturist – the best I have had since leaving Asia more than two decades ago. The community atmosphere works well for me, as everyone is quietly appreciating their own treatment. However, for those who prefer solitude or require needles in their backs for some reason, they may take advantage of the private room used for those purposes. Great people, great environment, great results.

Mary Arnold is outstanding, great on athletic issues fixed my knee and my hamstring and had me back running after two sessions. A true gem in Mill Valley.

I see Chalita on a weekly basis and she is consistently sweet, cheerful, knowledgeable, caring and empathetic. Her «energy» level is wonderful :) I always get into a lovely meditative space when the needles are in and I rest with the light music and ambient sounds playing. I am healing on many levels, not just the physical ailments I came to her with.
I’ve been to other community acupuncture clinics but this one is by far the most comfortable, inviting and healing.

I’ve always wanted to try acupuncture and chose Tamalpais Community Acupuncture based on the Unilocal reviews. My goal has been to give up my dependence on red wine and lower my blood pressure which was border line high. I have had four sessions in three weeks. After the first session, red wine was no longer an issue for me. I went from drinking two to three glasses a night to that much in a week. I haven’t replaced it with anything else, I’m just not interested in it anymore. My BP is down 14 points. I have been working with Amie. She is a very caring, knowledgeable person who really listens to me so that she can help me with my health concerns. The facility is cozy and relaxing and I look forward to returning as often as I can.

This is my first experience with acupuncture, so I don’t have a frame of reference, but I’m hooked on it and TAC. I’m treating pain and inflammation from a serious ankle injury and surgery, and Chalita made me feel safe and comfortable from the very beginning. Two sessions in and I’m feeling relief, more energetic and more positive in general. I’m also so grateful for a resource I can afford right in my community. I love supporting a woman-​owned business and a local one too. The online scheduling tool is great, the space is cozy and serene and there’s lots of parking. Thank you TAC!

This review is long, long overdue. My husband and I both visited Chalita in 2013. My husband was diagnosed with Cancer and sadly, he has since passed away. Chalita helped both of us in so many ways. Doug with his fatigue, nausea, lack of appetite, and myself to help me cope during this transition, she was our Angel. Her ongoing support, guidance and love helping us with our daily challenges will be forever remembered. Chalita is such a lovely and gifted woman. Anyone in her care will be truly blessed.

I was visiting my family in Mill Valley and my sister in law told me about Chalita.
I have an acupuncturist at home so I am familiar with the methods that are used.
I booked a community session. I was looking to feel connected and peaceful after experiencing a very tumultuous end of the year. After passing out in the chair for over an hour and having random images fly through my head, I walked out of there feeling like I was walking on air! I was all smiles and positivity.
I wish I could see Chalita on a regular basis. She is super friendly!

After years of enjoying community acupuncture in the city, I moved to Mill Valley and was faced with the hurdle (however small) of the drive back just for my needle therapy. Today I saw Chalita at Tamalpais Community Acupuncture for the first time. She was professional, listened attentively, asked great questions, and set me up for an awesome hour of relaxation! A little more expensive than SF community acupuncture spots, Tam Community Acupuncture seems worth it nonetheless. I’ve found my new spot!

Chalita is simply amazing. I love Tam Community Acupuncture!!! I can’t live without them. Chalita is life changing. I suffered from bad headaches and migraines and they are gone. Totally gone. Atmosphere is cozy and comfy and clean and Chalita is just magical. Highly recommend!!!

I had such a great experience with Amie Brooke at Tamalpais Community Acupuncture. I went to see Amie because I had an ovarian cyst and very heavy periods. After only a few months of treatment, my ovarian cyst disappeared! Amie also helped me cope with the fatigue and anxiety that accompanied my periods.
I can not recommend Amie enough. She was kind, professional and caring. And her clinic offers very affordable community acupuncture sessions. I started my treatment with two private sessions and then moved to weekly community sessions, which fit my budget.

I LOVE seeing Amie for acupuncture treatments. It is pure bliss. I’m a mom of two small children and I mountain bike. I also have insomnia and fatigue and neck and back issues. Amie helps with with all of these. She has a very soothing, calming, and gentle nature. She’s really knowledgeable about Chinese medicine and acupuncture. I highly recommend her!

This is such a great concept, and Chalita and Amy are doing a great job. I’ve worked acupuncture into my monthly routine because their practice is so convenient, accommodating, and effective. I love going there!
They have one community room with three reclining chairs, as well as two private rooms if you prefer a private session.

I have been getting acupuncture by Amie Brooke for a couple months now and have noticed a reduction in my anxiety and stress level since beginning my treatments! I have severe anxiety flying so I decided to do some acupuncture before my flight and I noticed a dramatic reduction in my anxiety level while flying (what a great way to start a vacation!). Amie is compassionate and professional and I highly recommend this place!

I went for my first treatment 3 months ago. My primary doctor at Kaiser recommended I try acupuncture to relieve the pain from a frozen shoulder, I hate to say I was a bit skeptical but I was willing to try anything at that point. After 2 treatments with Aime (3 days apart) the mobility in my shoulder had increased and the stabbing pains were fading more and more each day. With the acupuncture treatments and exercise my shoulder is almost 100% now.
A month ago I mentioned to Chalita about my sleeping problems and night sweats and she said she could help. Low and behold, my night ‘issues’ disappeared for two weeks. I have gone back two more times and will continue to go every two weeks to control my night sweats and hot flashes. It sure beats taking HRT!
Chalita and Aime are both kind, supportive and caring professionals. I am now a firm believer in acupuncture and can’t imagine a nicer environment than TCA.

Although I’ve never gone to the clinic, I’ve seen Amie Brooke for acupuncture treatments. When other people were being treated at the clinic, I was surprised at what a private, serene environment is was, even though other people were there. Amie takes the time to work with everyone individually, even in a group situation.
Amie is very knowledgeable about acupuncture and herbs. She was able to help me with several health problems. The best part was that I went from having no energy to feeling really energetic in just one session, so of course I went back for more. She is professional and caring and her treatments are very effective.

I started going to Tamalpais Community Acupuncture about 6 or 7 months ago and I absolutely love it! TCA was my first experience with acupuncture and Chalita made the experience so comfortable and easy. I was a little scared but she put me completely at ease.
I originally started treatment because I wanted to get rid of a ganglion cyst on my foot. My podiatrist said the only way to get rid of it was to cut it out — I didn’t want to deal with the recovery so I tried acupuncture. Within a few treatments, the cyst was almost gone and completely different in texture. I was so glad I tried acupuncture before resorting to surgery.
While being treated for the cyst, I discovered that acupuncture could help me in so many other ways — my digestion, my general circulation, incontinence (ugh — a vaginal birth of an 8.5 baby will do that to you!), stress relief, etc. In May, I slipped and sprained my wrist/​fingers — after my sprain, I literally could not grasp my toothbrush and was in tremendous pain. The next morning, I had an acupuncture session and my wrist was immediately 10 times better — I was still in very slight pain, but I could bend/​use my fingers and wrist — the effect of acupuncture was truly amazing.
I’ve done acupuncture both in the private room and in the community room and I find both settings to be relaxing and warm. The community acupuncture is SO affordable! Half the time, I am so relaxed that I fall asleep. I’ve been treated by all of the practitioners who work there and they are ALL fantastic — kind, warm, professional and lovely women who genuinely listen and care. Oh — Chalita has also recommend other alternative or homeopathic treatments to help my various ailments and I always appreciate her advice.
I definitely highly recommend TCA and am SO thrilled I discovered it!
